As this will be the last edition before Christmas, we’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of our vendors for the opportunity to market their properties for them this year. Selling or buying farmland is one of the most important transactions any farmer or farmland investor makes in their business life. However, while it may not occur to many owners every time they pull their boots on in the morning they are making an equally important investment decision – to retain their farm.

MARKET UPDATE | VIC The Victorian and Riverina regions have continued to witness some excellent market results despite some concern around overarching seasonal forecasts and economic headwinds. Whilst we acknowledge in isolated cases that buyer urgency has stabilised following a period of unprecedented market conditions, overall demand across most sectors continues to remain widespread. Specifically, the horticultural, forestry, poultry, dairy and cropping sectors have continued to maintain sound levels of enquiry, whilst demand for assets

orientated towards livestock production have been met with varied levels of interest. Factors that have supported the underlying desire to pursue this asset class have included recognising the opportunity to capitalise on favourable entry level market values coupled with the view of a forecasted market resurgence. Investor profiles have continued to vary based on the asset class, scale and price point, with family operators and institutional investors playing a key role in the sector at present.

There has further been a continued focus by investors searching for specific regions that provide value propositions through either development or transformational opportunities. Nick Myer 0427 610 278 nick.myer@elders.com.au State Real Estate Manager - Victoria/Riverina
