Bienvenidos al número de junio de The Resident. El verano ha llegado para quedarse y empiezan a llegar algunos turistas como puede verse por el aumento del tráfico y la falta de aparcamientos. Supongo que es un pequeño precio a pagar por el bien de la economía que trae el turismo, así que mejor sonreímos y lo soportamos. Desafortunadamente los turistas no son los únicos que nos visitan en verano. Cada año, numerosas bandas criminales llegan a la costa en busca de hurtos fáciles a turistas y residentes por igual. Acechan a aquellos cuyas mentes están en modo vacaciones, y, aunque sin ser paranóico, deberías tomar algunas precauciones como mantener tus objetos valiosos seguros, como llevar tu equipaje al apartamento vacacional antes de ir al supermercado ya que muchos ladrones se fijan en los coches de alquiler llenos de equipaje; ten cuidado con los ladrones que te distraen pidiéndote indicaciones o que se chocan accidentalmente contigo, no dejes que nadie que no conozca te de un abrazo o te agarre las manos, etc. Sé que suena extremo, pero algunas precauciones y podrás disfrutar del verano sin problemas. Dados los eventos recientes en Reino Unido y en Europa, realmente no puedo escribir esta editorial sin hacer una referencia al terrorismo. Aunque es cierto que todas las ferias, fiestas y otros eventos atraen grandes multitudes, no debemos dejar que estos lunáticos destruyan nuestra libertad y nuestra forma de vida. Es verdad que tenemos que estar vigilantes, pero también estar tranquilos ya que España tiene una de las fuerzas contra el terrorismo más eficientes y efectivas, y que no hemos tenido ningún ataque en los últimos 13 años, aunque se han frustrado muchos planes, la mayoría durante su etapa de planificación y no de ejecución. Así que cambiando de tema, como mencioné antes la Costa del Sol es un punto focal en este momento del año, con cientos de ferias, fiestas, conciertos, espectáculos desde una punta de la costa a otra. Uno de los principales eventos es la Noche de San Juan, el festival del solsticio del verano, que se celebra en la playa con enormes hogueras, fuegos artificiales y música para celebrar la noche más corta del año. Welcome to the June issue of The Resident. Well summer is well and truly here and the season’s visitors are beginning to arrive, a fact borne out by the growing traffic congestion and fast disappearing parking spaces. I suppose it’s a small price to pay for the boost to the economy that the tourists bring so we will grin and bear it . Unfortunately the tourists are not the only visitors that the summer season brings. Every year numbers of itinerant criminals flock to the Coast in search of easy pickings from both tourists and locals alike. They prey on people whose minds are in holiday mode, so whilst not being paranoid you should at least take the usual precautions of keeping your valuables secure, take your belongings to your holiday apartment before visiting the supermarket. Many thieves target hire cars full of luggage; beware of distraction thefts such as people asking directions, or brushing ‘muck’ from your clothes, don’t let random people give you hugs, or grab your hands, etc. I know it sounds extreme but a few simple precautions and you will be able to enjoy the summer without loss. Given recent events in the UK and across Europe, I can’t really write this editorial without a reference to terrorism. With all the ferias, fiestas and other events drawing large crowds, we shouldn’t let these lunatics destroy our freedoms and way of life, and while being vigilant we should also take comfort from the fact that the Spain has one of the most efficient and effective counter terrorism forces. In the last 13 years there have been no attacks, although many plots have been foiled - the majority during the planning stage, rather than execution. So, onto more pleasant matters, as mentioned earlier the Costa del Sol becomes party central at this time of year, with hundreds of ferias, fiestas, concerts and performances, from one end of the Coast to the other. One of the biggest of these takes place later this month, when the beaches become the focus for Noche de San Juan, the Summer Solstice festival, with huge bonfires, fireworks and music celebrating the shortest night of the year. You can read more about Noche de San Juan, with details of local celebrations, in this paper. Se celebra cada año en la noche del día 23 de junio, y dura hasta la madrugada del 24 (día de San Juan). Es la antigua celebración pagana del inicio del verano, que ha sido “cristianizada” estableciéndola convenientemente en el día de un santo (si no puedes con ellos, únete a ellos). Existen varias formas tradicionales de celebrar la Noche de San Juan, y en la mayor parte de ellas el fuego es el protagonista. En Estepona, la celebración
This is held each year on the evening of the 23rd of June and goes on into the early hours of the 24th (Dia de San Juan). It’s the old pagan midsummer celebration which has been ‘Christianified’ by tacking it on to a convenient Saint’s day (if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em sort of thing). There are a number of traditional ways of celebrating Saint John’s Night most of which involve a good bonfire. In Estepona the central celebration is the ‘Quema de los bigotes de San Juan’ - literally ‘burning of the moustaches’ - where large papier mache figures, many of a satirical nature, are paraded through the town before being burnt on the

It is also customary at this time to walk into the sea to wash away any bad luck. Another tradition is for the young men of the town to jump or dive over the bonfires once they have died down a bit, the higher the flames, the greater the challenge. The night is usually marked by firework displays, live music and dancing until the early hours of the morning.

Para ello deben entregar resguardo del ingreso bancario y fotocopia del DNI del tutor/a del alumno/a que se inscriba.
El precio es de 10 € para empadronados y de 15 € para no empadronados. Las actividades están dirigidas a usuarios mayores de 6 años: Existen clases para cuatro niveles: de iniciación y aprendizaje, de dominio de movimiento
acuático, de técnica de estilos de natación, y de técnica avanzada. Esta Campaña de Natación se realiza también en la piscina municipal de Secadero, donde actualmente se está a la espera de sacar la lista de admitidos el próximo 15 de junio.

El Ayuntamiento espera que la próxima semana se retomen los trabajos en el Llano de la Fuente

El concejal de Infraestructura se trasladó ayer a la Delegación de la Consejería de Fomento para adelantar con los trámites, y volvió a incidir en la necesidad de que el proyecto esté completamente finalizado para la Feria de Agosto Desde el Ayuntamiento de Casares se continúa realizando un seguimiento constante para verificar que toda la tramitación sigue su curso y procurar que esta obra se reanude cuanto antes. El concejal de Infraestructura Guzmán Ahumada, que se trasladaba ayer a la delegación provincial de la Consejería de Fomento y Vivienda para entregar en mano la aprobación del modificado por parte de la Junta de Gobierno municipal, aprovecho para comprobar cómo va toda la tramitación. Según le han explicado a Ahumada, ahora se espera el informe jurídico para la aprobación del modificado por parte de la Conserjería de Fomento que es el órgano que ha contratado las obras, por lo que se prevé que la próxima semana se pueda celebrar una reunión en el Llano de la Fuente con la empresa adjudicataria para organizar la finalización de los trabajos.
El responsable municipal aprovechó esta visita para volver a insistir en la necesidad de agilizar el reinicio de las obras para que estén completamente finalizadas a finales de julio, con el objeto de que se pueda celebrar la Feria de Agosto con toda normalidad. Y además, volvió a exponer las limitaciones que supone en el día a día de Casares el cierre de esta zona, impidiendo la circulación de vehículos por las Piletas o manteniendo cerrada uno de los accesos al aparcamiento La colaboración del Ayuntamiento con la Delegación provincial de Fomento es máxima, explica el concejal de Infraestructura en relación con la prontitud con la que se han realizado las gestiones requeridas desde el Ayuntamiento. Sin embargo, al tratarse de un centro de trabajo abierto por la Junta de Andalucía es la delegación de Fomento la que debe realizar todas estas gestiones.

Councillor for Infrastructure, Guzmán Ahumada, visited the provincial delegation of the Ministry of Development and Housing recently to present approval of the modifications by the Municipal Board of Government, and take the opportunity to check how the whole process is proceeding. As was explained to Ahumada, the legal report is now awaiting approval of the modifications by the Development Ministry, the department that has contracted the works, so it is expected that next week a meeting can be held in Llano de la Fuente with the contractor to arrange for the completion of work.
The councillor also took advantage of this visit to re-emphasize the need to speed up the restart of the works so that they are completely finished at the end of July, so that the August Fair can be celebrated without hindrance. In addition, he once again pointed out the disruption to day-today life in Casares as a result of the closure of this area, preventing the circulation of traffic through the area and keeping one of the major accesses closed. Ya está casi listo el punto de información turístico Casares instala una cámara que emite al Centro de Recepción de Visitantes de los Baños de la Hedionda imágenes y sonido a tiempo real de aves autóctonas
El Ayuntamiento encargó a una empresa local la caseta de madera que servirá de base para el nuevo servicio, después de estudiar diferentes posibilidades. El trabajo está actualmente está prácticamente terminado, con lo que en las próximas semanas se colocará en su emplazamiento definitivo, junto a los Baños de la Hedionda. Paralelamente, desde el Consistorio se continúa con los trámites para la adjudicación del servicio de información y atención al público, lo que supondrá la creación de una puesto de trabajo. La intención de la Concejalía de Turismo es que este nuevo punto de información comience a funcionar a finales de junio, al igual que el servicio de vigilancia de los Baños de la Hedionda.

La concejalía de Medio Ambiente lamenta la muerte de un búho real en un tendido eléctrico de la zona de la Laguna La avería de electricidad sufrida en Casares Recientemente ha sido consecuencia del fallecimiento de un búho real electrocutado en un tendido eléctrico de la zona de La Laguna. Al parecer el animal se apoyó y se quedó enganchado provocando cortocircuitos que afectaron a la red principal. Técnicos de la Consejería de Medio Ambiente a retirar el animal, al ser una especie protegida, y técnicos de
Endesa que han restablecido el funcionamiento eléctrico. Desde la concejalía de Medio Ambiente se ha lamentado que haya vuelto a fallecer un ave protegida, y se han vuelto a exigir medidas de protección para la avifauna local, al tiempo que se han trasladado las reclamaciones oportunas a la compañía eléctrica y a la Junta de Andalucía. La edil responsable del área Noelia Rodríguez ha explicado que es
necesario que de una vez los responsables de Endesa y de la Consejería de Medio Ambiente tomen las medidas necesarias para proteger a los buitres, búhos y otras especies protegidas que encuentran un peligro constante en el tendido eléctrico. Exigencias que se suman a las realizadas en diversas ocasiones por la agrupación de Ecologistas en Acción Sierra de la Utrera.
Environment department says the death of an Eagle Owl in power lines in the Laguna area is regrettable A recent power cut in Casares was as a consequence of an Eagle Owl becoming entangled in power lines in the La Laguna area of the municipality. The accident, which resulted in the death of this protected species, caused a short circuit which affected the main network. Council
workers removed the dead bird, and engineers from Endesa soon had the power back on. The Environment Department has lamented the fact that a protected bird has once again died due to contact with powerlines and has demanded that both the power company and the Junta
de Andalucia apply measures to reduce such incidents and protect the local vultures, owls and other protected species in the area. This echoes similar demands from the local pressure group Ecologistas en Acción Sierra de la Utrera.
Casares cuenta ya con un nuevo punto de avistamiento de aves en el Centro de Recepción de Visitantes, en el Puerto de Ronda. Una iniciativa de la Concejalía de Medio Ambiente, financiada por el Ayuntamiento, que va a suponer un nuevo atractivo para vecinos y visitantes, al tiempo que permite conocer mejor la diversidad de la fauna que convive en el municipio. Para este proyecto se ha creado una charca artificial y comederos, de manera que atraiga a aves granívoras de la zona como jilguero, pardillo, verderón, curruca cabecinegra, verdecillo o escribano soteño. La zona ha sido ya dotada con cámara y micrófono, que transmitirán imágenes a una pantalla ubicada en el Centro de Recepción de Visitantes, desde donde se podrá observar a tiempo real el comportamiento
de estas especies autóctonas. Las imágenes ya se están emitiendo en estos monitores de televisión, y la intención es poder ampliar la proyección próximamente a través de un canal de Youtube. Para evitar el vandalismo, la zona está videovigilada para dotar de seguridad a la nueva instalación.

Casares already has a new point of bird watching at the Visitor Reception Centre, in Puerto de Ronda. An initiative of the department of the environment, financed by the Town Council, which is a new attraction for residents and visitors, that allows them to understand better the diversity of the wildlife that lives in the municipality. For this project an artificial pond and feeders have been created, so that they attract the birds in the area like goldfinch, pardillo, verderón, warbler cabecinegra,
verdecillo or notary Soteño. The area has been equipped with camera and microphone, which transmit images to a screen in the Visitor Reception Centre, from where one can observe in real time the behaviour of these autochthonous species. The images are already being broadcast on these television monitors, and the intention is to expand the projection through a Youtube channel. To avoid vandalism, the area is equipped with video surveillance to provide security to the new facility.

Con el objetivo de que el pueblo de Casares tenga atención médica las 24 horas del día y los 365 días del año, el equipo de gobierno va a ampliar el horario del servicio de urgencia que ofrece el Ayuntamiento. Para ello en el nuevo pliego de condiciones que se está elaborando desde el consistorio para la renovación de este servicio, se va a incluir el inicio del médico de urgencia municipal a las 3 de la tarde de lunes a viernes, y su finalización a medio día del sábado, cuando llegan los médicos del SAS
que prestan servicio de fin de semana. Ante el nuevo incidente ocurrido el pasado sábado, que tuvo que ser atendida una urgencia médica por un médico privado, el alcalde Pepe Carrasco se ha puesto en contacto con el responsable en la zona del Servicio Andaluz de Salud, a quién ha vuelto a trasladar la problemática existente y ha insistido en la necesidad de que la ciudadanía tenga atención médica de urgencia de manera constante por la distancia que separa al pueblo del Centro de Salud de Urgencia que le
corresponde, en Estepona. Asimismo el alcalde insistió en que se mejorara la información a la población sobre el horario de los servicios de urgencia del SAS y los procedimientos para realizar los avisos. Pepe Carrasco se reunió el pasado 29 de marzo con la delegada territorial de la Consejería de Salud, Ana Isabel González, para trasladarle las carencias del municipio en materia de sanidad y hacer un llamamiento para mejorar los servicios de urgencias.
The Council to extend the emergency medical hours to cover Saturday mornings With the aim of providing the town of Casares with medical coverage 24-hours a day and 365 days a year, the local government is to extend the emergency service schedule offered by the town’s medical service. The new schedule that is being drawn up by the town hall will include an emergency service beginning at 3 pm from Mondays to Fridays, finishing at noon on Saturday, after which cover is provided by the Regional Health
Service (SAS) doctors over the weekend. In response to an incident that happened recently when a medical emergency had to be attended by a private doctor, Mayor Pepe Carrasco has contacted Andalucian Health Service, to whom he has passed the issue, insisting on the need for local residents to have urgent medical attention on a constant basis due to the distance from the nearest Emergency Health Centre in Estepona.
The mayor also insisted that information will be improved on the schedule of the SAS emergency services and procedures for making the notices. Pepe Carrasco met last March with the Minister for Health, Ana Isabel González, to pass on the shortcomings of the municipality in matters of health and to appeal for an improvement in emergency services.

WHERE THERE’S A WILL
Many people avoid drawing up wills because it requires them to contemplate their own mortality. If you are a foreigner with property and/ or other assets in Spain, you should make a Spanish will. You should also have a will for each jurisdiction within which you hold assets. For example, if you have a bank account in Gibraltar, Isle of Man, Jersey etc, you also need a will in that country. Each of these wills needs to clearly state that they are for the disposal of assets in that country only and that you want your will to be governed by UK/ other EU country law. Only if you state this, will that disposal of assets be governed by your own national law and not that of Spain. It is now possible to have your Spanish will made out in two columns. One side in Spanish and the other in English. This is checked by a Notary Public and signed by you, the Notary and your interpreter, if your Spanish is insufficient for you to read the Spanish side of the document yourself. The Testamento Abierto (Open Will) is kept by the Notary, an authorized copy will be given to you and the Notary will send a notification to the Registro Central de Ultima Voluntad in Madrid. It is important to discuss with your legal or financial adviser in Spain, details of the heirs named on your Spanish will. The more direct descendants that are named in your Spanish will as heirs, the less the Inheritance Tax you should have to pay. Unlike the UK and many other countries, in Spain it is the person receiving the inheritance that is taxable, NOT the deceased person’s estate. There are many differences between the UK law and Spanish law on Inheritance and Gift tax and although the UK and Spain have many reciprocal arrangements for double taxation, there is no such arrangement for Inheritance Tax. To die intestate (without a will) in Spain, makes the process of sorting out the deceased’s estate much more time consuming and costly. Exposición de vinilos portadas míticas El Ayuntamiento de Estepona informa que la sala de exposiciones del Auditorio Felipe VI acogerá a partir del 1 de junio una exposición de vinilos originales del mundo de la música, principalmente de la década de los años 70 y 80, merced al acuerdo de colaboración de la empresa Malvavisco Digital, actual gestora del Auditorio, y la Asociación Cultural y Cinematográfica de la Costa del Sol “Unicornio”. Esta segunda exposición estará dedicada al mundo de la música pop-rock, y lleva por título “Portadas Míticas”. El Ayuntamiento inicia la obra del hospital con una inversión de 15 millones y una ejecución de 18 meses Estepona ha iniciado la obra de construcción del Hospital de Alta Resolución de Estepona, conforme al contrato firmado con la empresa concesionaria de las mismas. Los trabajos comienzan esta semana con el acta de replanteo de las obras, que suponen una inversión de 15 millones de euros (IVA incluido) para el Ayuntamiento de Estepona. El plazo de ejecución de los trabajos es de 18 meses. La construcción de este equipamiento sanitario se realizará conforme al proyecto básico y de ejecución, supervisado a los efectos reglamentarios por el Servicio Andaluz de Salud. Está previsto que el acto de colocación de la primera piedra se realice el 23 de junio. El alcalde se ha referido al cumplimiento de los plazos marcados y ha mostrado su satisfacción por el inicio de la construcción de este hospital, que -ha recordado- ha sido la
mayor aspiración de la ciudad durante la última década. En este sentido, ha valorado este nuevo equipamiento como “una infraestructura prioritaria para el municipio, que va a conllevar una importante mejora en la calidad en los servicios a los ciudadanos”. El Ayuntamiento de Estepona y el Servicio Andaluz de Salud (SAS) firmaron en diciembre de 2016 el convenio en virtud del cual, el Ayuntamiento asume la construcción del centro hospitalario; así como los gastos de urbanización necesarios. Por otro lado, el SAS será responsable de la dotación y la puesta en funcionamiento del hospital, así como de los gastos de mantenimiento que se deriven a partir de su apertura. Los Hospitales de Alta Resolución responden a un concepto organizativo que incorpora el concepto de Consulta de Acto Único, dirigido a que todas las pruebas
y exploraciones necesarias se realicen -a ser posible- en un acto único y con la mayor brevedad, disminuyendo los tiempos de espera y potenciando la atención sanitaria urgente. Por otra parte, incorpora los

avances de la tecnología que favorecen la implantación en estos hospitales de la cirugía mayor ambulatoria, lo que permite que la estancia hospitalaria del enfermo se pueda y se deba reducir de forma significativa.
El futuro equipamiento, que se ubicará en el sector Santa María, en la zona más occidental del municipio, tendrá una superficie construida de 14.300 metros cuadrados sobre una parcela de 60.166 metros cuadrados.

Comienza la obra del primero de los ocho hoteles en el centro histórico de Estepona El Ayuntamiento de Estepona ha otorgado los permisos para el inicio de las obras de construcción del primero de los ocho establecimientos hoteleros que se van a construir en el centro histórico de Estepona. La consolidación de la iniciativa ‘Estepona, Jardín de la Costa del Sol’, que ha supuesto ya la remodelación integral de infraestructuras y el embellecimiento ornamental de casi un centenar de calles en el centro, ha convertido el centro de la ciudad en un entorno atractivo, de resaltado tipismo andaluz, que cada vez atrae más turistas y que, como consecuencia de esto, está captando el interés de inversores para desarrollar proyectos turísticos. El nuevo establecimiento, que llevará el nombre de hotel Maravilla Palace, cuenta con una ubicación inmejorable en pleno centro histórico de la ciudad, en la plaza de Las Flores. Será un hotel de cuatro estrellas y contará con 42 habitaciones.
Durante la excavación de la parcela aparecieron restos arqueológicos de una gran relevancia como la tenería medieval mejor conservada de la península ibérica. Dicho hallazgo ha retrasado los trabajos de construcción del hotel cuyos planos se han modificado. Así estos restos se podrán contemplar a través de un suelo de cristal que formará parte de un restaurante del propio hotel. La teniente de alcalde del área FIT, Ana Velasco, ha explicado que la apertura de nuevos hoteles en el casco urbano supone “un impulso para la ciudad porque, además de dinamizar la economía de la zona y generar empleo, contribuye a ampliar la oferta turística del municipio”. Junto a este hotel, el Ayuntamiento está tramitando también las correspondientes autorizaciones para otros espacios hoteleros en la calle Santa Ana; calle Caridad; calle Carlos Herrera; calle Veracruz; calle Concepción y plaza de Las Flores. Además, se
está tramitando otra licencia para que la antigua pensión -cerrada al público- que se ubicaba frente al Parque Botánico-Orquidario se convierta en un nuevo hotel. Velasco ha apuntado que algunos de estos proyectos se van a ejecutar en viviendas que
se encontraban en desuso en los últimos años y que ahora, tras una serie de obras de rehabilitación, podrán acondicionarse como establecimientos hoteleros con encanto en el casco antiguo. Estos nuevos equipamientos son otro ejemplo más del
crecimiento que la ciudad ha experimentado en los últimos años a nivel turístico. En ese sentido, la edil ha destacado la fortaleza del destino Estepona que el año pasado batió récord de visitas respecto a los últimos diez años.

The construction of the new Hotel Maravilla Palace has resumed after work was interrupted for months following the discovery of a medieval tannery, said to be the best preserved on the Iberian Peninsula, on the plot of land in Plaza de las Flores where the hotel is being constructed. Work was held up as plans were redrawn so as to protect the remains, however, construction has now restarted after hotel owners were warned by the council that their building works licence was in danger of expiring. Under the revised plans, the hotel’s restaurant will now have a glass floor so that guests can view the tannery from above. The 42 room Hotel Maravilla Palace is just one of eight new hotels being built in Estepona’s old town. The council are currently approving plans for hotels to be
built in Calles Santa Ana, Caridad, Carlos Herrera, Veracruz and Concepción. The Mayor of Estepona, José María García Urbano said in a conference last month that the hotels, which will have a total of 300 rooms between them and will generate some 200 jobs, will open between over the next 18 months. Councillor for Infrastructure, Ana Velasco, explained that some of the town’s derelict buildings are being restored to create the new boutique hotels as part of the revitalisation of other buildings and streets in an initiative which promotes the town as “Estepona, the garden of the Costa del Sol.” Velasco also stated her view that the hotels will attract more investors to Estepona, especially as this year the town recorded its highest number of tourist visits in a decade.

El teniente alcalde del área de Nuevas Tecnologías, José María Ayala, ha explicado que la aplicación, que podrá ser descargada en dispositivos con sistema Android o iOS, será “una herramienta más” que ofrece el Consistorio a los turistas que están interesados en conocer
qué deben visitar durante su estancia en Estepona. La aplicación, que se aloja en una plataforma pública puesta a disposición de las administraciones locales, se divide en varias categorías que permitirán al usuario realizar los itinerarios que le interesen. Así, las personas que descarguen la app podrán seleccionar entre apartados como las calles típicas que se han remodelado en el casco antiguo, museos, Ruta de los Murales, Ruta de la Poesía, monumentos, Rutas de Senderismo, Playas o equipamientos públicos. Ayala ha indicado que la aplicación, que se ha puesto en marcha en colaboración con la delegación municipal de Turismo, ofrece listados con información de los hoteles, hostales, apartamentos turísticos, casas rurales, campings y campos de golf. El responsable municipal ha señalado que el Ayuntamiento ofrece esta nueva aplicación a restaurantes, bares o establecimientos para que se publiciten gratuitamente en una sección específica. Los interesados en formar parte de esta base de datos tendrán que contactar con la delegación municipal de Turismo. Por otra parte, el teniente alcalde del área de Nuevas Tecnologías ha comentado que ‘Guía Turística de Estepona’ dispone también de una sección dedicada a la agenda de actividades municipales donde consultar la programación cultural y de ocio que ofrece diariamente la ciudad. Por este motivo, ha animado a los residentes a que también se descarguen esta app gratuita porque tendrán información pormenorizada sobre alternativas de ocio.

The Councillor for New Technologies, Jose Maria Ayala, explained that the application, available for both Android or iOS will provide tourists with information on what to do and see during their stay in Estepona. The application, which is hosted on a public platform made available to local administrations, is divided into several categories that will allow the user to focus on activities that interest them. Thus, people who download the app will be able to select from sections such as typical streets that have been remodeled in the old town, museums, the Mural Route, Poetry Route, monuments, hiking trails, beaches or public facilities.
Councillor Ayala has indicated that the application, which has been implemented in collaboration with the municipal delegation of Tourism, offers listings with information on hotels, hostels, tourist apartments, fincas, campsites and golf courses. He also pointed out that the Council offers this new application to restaurants, bars or establishments to post free publicity in a specific section. The 'Tourist Guide of Estepona' also has a section dedicated to the agenda of municipal activities and the cultural and leisure programme offered daily in Estepona. III Concurso de Arroces 24 de junio de 2017, se celebrará en la Avda. Padre Cura, Estepona, el “III Concurso de Arroces” a beneficio de Aprona. III Estepona Paella Contest in aid of Aprona Estepona will be hosting a paella contest on Saturday 24th June in the town’s Huerta Nueva area. Organised by the Bar Mena El Tobalo in Avda. Padre Cura in collaboration with the Culture Department and the Monica Peña Dance Academy, who will be giving a performance at 12.30 pm, there will be an opportunity to sample dozens of paellas and rice dishes submitted by up to 20 contestants. All the contestants provide their own ingredients according to their personal recipes except for a litre of oil and two kilos of rice which are provided by the organisers. The cook off begins at 9 am and all the dishes must be ready for judging at 2 pm. A specially selected jury will judge the paellas after which the general public can enjoy them at a cost of just 2 euros a portion. All proceeds go to Estepona’s mentally handicapped association, Aprona.

Comienzan las reuniones sectoriales dentro del Plan Estratégico de Manilva
L
a semana pasada se llevó a cabo la primera de las reuniones sectoriales que se realizarán con motivo de la redacción del “Plan estratégico de Manilva”, a la que asistieron cerca de medio centenar de personas. En esta ocasión estaban invitados el gremio de la restauración, hostelería y servicios, que pudieron a lo largo del encuentro de unos 45 minutos de duración, realizar las preguntas que creyeron oportunas sobre este importante documento municipal que marcará el fututo de la localidad. Además pudieron poner sobre la mesa las ideas que creyeron oportunas para la mejora del sector. Se espera que el trabajo que se realice durante los próximos meses redunde en la mejora del bienestar de la ciudadanía en general, creando unas mejores perspectivas económicas de la localidad, además de dar a
conocer a Manilva fuera de nuestras fronteras a través de una marca clara con la que nos identifiquemos y comuniquemos unánimemente. Por este motivo, se quiere hacer el proceso participativo a todos los agentes económicos y sociales de nuestra localidad, y se espera contar con la máxima participación. El alcalde de Manilva, Mario Jiménez, no tiene ninguna duda de que los vecinos estarán dispuestos a colaborar y a participar en el devenir de nuestro municipio, por ello les anima a formar parte de este ilusionante proyecto. La próxima de las citas se realizará el jueves 15 de junio a las cuatro de la tarde en Villa Matilde y a ella están convocados los comerciantes en general, locutorios y otros comerciantes inmigrantes. Es muy importante para la realización del Plan Estratégico,
asistir a este tipo de reuniones, ya que serán los propios interesados los que puedan exponer las carencias existentes

The participation phase of Manilva’s ‘Brand Manilva’ strategy has begun Last week the first of a series of meetings was held for the purpose of drafting the "Manilva Strategic Plan", which was attended by around fifty people. On this occasion representatives of the catering, hospitality and services sector were invited to learn about the objectives of the plan at the 45 minute meeting, and to ask the questions about this important municipal document
that will mark the future of Manilva. In addition they were able to put on the table their ideas for the creation of opportunities for the improvement of the sector. It is anticipated that the work carried out during the coming months will improve the quality of life for the general public, creating better economic prospects for the area as well as promoting Manilva outside of the area through a clear brand
with which we can identify with, and communicate unanimously. For this reason, we want to make a participatory process for all economic and social interests in Manilva, and we hope to have maximum participation. The mayor of Manilva, Mario Jiménez, has no doubt that residents will be willing to collaborate and participate in the future of the municipality, for this reason he encourages them to be part of this exciting project. The next appointment will be held on Thursday, June 15 at four in the afternoon in Villa Matilde with local businesses in general invited to take part. It is very important for the realization of the Strategic Plan, for everyone to attend these meetings, since it will be the stakeholders themselves who understand the existing shortcomings and present possible solutions. Once all of them have been studied, it will be possible to draw a roadmap to follow and advance towards the future with a solid plan that guarantees Manilva’s progress.

Elías Bendodo y Mario Jiménez acudieron a la inauguración de una pasarela peatonal sobre la autovía A-7 en San Luis de Sabinillas, que se ha instalado en
el punto kilométrico 145,200. Se trata de una actuación muy demandada por el municipio, que ha requerido la autorización del Ministerio de Fomento,
que permite conectar de forma segura para los peatones el paseo marítimo con el interior del núcleo urbano de Sabinillas.

Dos nuevos puentes permiten conectar 1,7 kilómetros de la Senda Litoral en Manilva Dos nuevas actuaciones de la Senda Litoral en Manilva han permitido conectar 1,7 kilómetros de paseo peatonal por la franja costera. Se trata de dos puentes realizados sobre los arroyos Martagina y Alcorrín, en la parte más al oeste del litoral malagueño, en las playas del Negro y Aldea Beach, dentro de la reserva ecológica de Manilva. El presidente de la Diputación de Málaga, Elías Bendodo, y el alcalde de Manilva, Mario Jiménez, asistieron a la inauguración de los dos puentes, que han sido financiados por la Diputación. Bendodo ha considerado muy positivo que la Senda Litoral siga avanzando y permita ya recorrer andando o en bicicleta 110 kilómetros de la franja costera de la provincia. “Esto supone un atractivo turístico más para la Costa del Sol”, ha añadido. Las pasarelas peatonales sobre los arroyos Martagina y Alcorrín son de una longitud de 15 y 18 metros de longitud,
respectivamente, y de 3 metros de ancho. La colocación de ambos puentes ha ido unida a la regeneración ambiental de su entorno y la puesta en valor de la reserva ecológica, con mejoras en el sendero, como el caso del arroyo Alcorrín, instalando un mirador interpretativo de la reserva.

Además, dentro de un mes concluirá la instalación de otra pasarela, sobre el arroyo Indiano, y cuando se realice se logrará en el término municipal de Manilva una longitud de senda transitable de 8 kilómetros, llegando hasta la costa del municipio de Casares en el arroyo de La Parrilla. New works on the Senda Litoral project in Manilva have allowed the connection 1.7 kilometres of pedestrian footpath along the coastal strip. Two bridges have been built over the Martagina and Alcorrín streams, in the westernmost part of the coast of Málaga, on the beaches of Negro and Aldea Beach, within the Manilva Ecological Reserve. The president of the Diputación de Málaga, Elías Bendodo, and the mayor of Manilva, Mario Jiménez, attended the inauguration of the two bridges, which have been financed by the Diputación. The Senda Litoral continues to advance and allows users to
walk and cycle 110 kilometres of Malaga’s coastlines. The pedestrian walkways over the Martagina and Alcorrín streams are 15 and 18 metres long, respectively, and 3 metres wide. The placement of both bridges has been linked to the environmental regeneration of its environment and the enhancement of the ecological reserve, with improvements in the path, as in the case of the Alcorrín stream, installing an interpretive viewpoint of the reserve. In addition, within a month a third bridge will be installed over Arroyo Indiano as part of a 500,000 euro plan for the path in that area.

El Castillo de la Duquesa
A
ll oeste del puerto deportivo Puerto de la Duquesa, encontramos la pequeña aldea El Castillo. Toma su nombre del Castillo de la Duquesa, una fortaleza del siglo XVIII que se erige a la entrada. La historia de esta aldea de pescadores se remonta al menos a los tiempos romanos, cuando era un bullicioso centro industrial cuyos productos eran el pescado en salazón y una pasta muy peculiar hecha a partir de las tripas fermentadas del pescado, conocida como Garum. Esta antigua “Delicia de los caballeros” era un producto muy popular en Roma, de forma que trajo bastante prosperidad a este rincón del Imperio. Los restos del asentamiento romano aún pueden verse. Al suroeste del Castillo, al lado de la Plaza de los Baños, están los antiguos baños romanos. Aunque actualmente están tras una verja cerrada, aún pueden verse los restos de la sala de calderas con su horno e hipocaustos (calefacción bajo el suelo) y una gran bañera de piedra. Además, quedan restos del suelo original de mosaico. Entre el Castillo y la carretera principal existe una villa romana de la que pueden verse los cimientos y los omnipresentes hipocaustos. Y al norte, entre el Castillo y el Puerto, se ubicaban las ollas de salazón y los tanques de fermentación.
El Castillo fue construido en 1760 y el Rey Carlos III le concedió al arquitecto, Francisco Paulino, el mando de una compañía de caballería por sus servicios. Desde entonces el edificio ha tenido diferentes usos y actualmente se utiliza para exposiciones y eventos culturales, además de albergar algunas oficinas del Ayuntamiento. Dirigiéndote a la aldea, verás que es muy compacta, aunque queda sitio para algunas bonitas plazas, bares, restaurantes (algunos de los mejores restaurantes de pescado de la zona se encuentran aquí), e incluso tiene su propia iglesia, la Iglesia de Nuestra Señora del Carmen, santa patrona de El Castillo dedicada a los pescadores y marineros. La Iglesia es el centro de la principal celebración anual del Castillo, el Día de la Virgen del Carmen el 16 de julio. La imagen de la Virgen sale en procesión desde el Castillo al Puerto de la Duquesa, donde se embarca en un barco de pesca antes de unirse a la procesión de Sabinillas, donde los devotos pueden admirarla. El Castillo de la Duquesa está flanqueado por playas a ambos lados, con excelentes chiringuitos, y está a poca distancia a pie del nuevo tramo de paseo marítimo que lleva al bullicioso Puerto de la Duquesa, con su gran selección de bares y restaurantes, y a solo 10 minutos a pie de Sabinillas.

Castillo de la Duquesa Situated just to the west of the marina of Puerto de la Duquesa is the small hamlet of Castillo. Taking it’s name from the Castillo de la Duquesa, an 18th Century fortress which stands at the entrance, this fishing village can trace it’s history back to at least Roman times when it was a bustling industrial centre whose chief products were salted fish and a rather peculiar paste made from fermented fish guts known as Garum. This ancient ‘Gentlemen’s Relish’ was much sought after back in Rome and so brought a great deal of prosperity to this corner of the Empire. The remnants of the Roman settlement can still be seen today. To southwest of the Castle, next to the ‘Plaza de Banos’, is the old old bathhouse. Although currently behind a locked gate you can still see the remains of the boilerhouse with it’s oven and ‘hypocausts’ (underfloor heating) and large stone bathing tank, as well as patches of the original mosaic flooring. Between the Castle and the main road is the site of a Roman villa of which just the foundations and the ubiquitous hypocausts are still visible.And to the northeast between the Castle and the Port is where the salt pans and fermentation tanks were located. The Castle itself was built in the 1760’s and the architect, Francisco Paulino, was
granted command of a company of cavalry by King Charles III for his services. Since then the building has had many uses and is currently used for exhibitions and cultural events, as well as council offices. Heading into the village you soon realise how compact it is, yet there is still room for some very pleasant squares, bars, restaurants (some of the best fish restaurants in the area are located here) and it even has it’s own church – Iglesia Nuestra Señora del Carmen, Castillo’s patron saint dedicated to mariners and fishermen. The Church is the focus for Castillo’s main annual celebration, Día Virgen del Carmen on July 16, when the effigy of the Saint is borne in procession from Castillo to Duquesa Port where it is embarked on a fishing boat before joining the Sabinillas procession for a voyage up and down the coast to the adulation of the devoted onlookers. Castillo de la Duquesa is flanked by beaches on either side both with excellent chiringuitos (beach bar/restaurants), and is just a short walk along the new stretch of promenade to the bright lights of Puerto de la Duquesa, with its cosmopolitan selection of bars and restaurants, and just a further ten minutes into the small town of Sabinillas.

El primer Día del Orgullo de Manilva necesita tu apoyo La noche del 17 de junio comenzará en el escenario de Sabinillas (La Noria) a las 8 pm. El evento quedará inaugurado por representantes del Ayuntamiento con delegaciones de igualdad y residentes extranjeros. Tendremos tres actuaciones en este escenario, el Dúo Garal! (Diva Garal es una cantante y artista de Málaga con un gran historial y una amplia variedad de estilos desde el soul al hip-hop. Estará acompañada por un trombonista en vivo y el trompetista Sergio Pino), Hoffman (cantante de Málaga conocido como el Aristócrata de la Música, y presentará su Tour 2017 “Tributo” en el teatro Cervantes de Málaga). También habrá un espectáculo de baile a cargo de la Escuela Municipal de Expresión Corporal. A las 9 comenzará la cabalgata que tendrá dos carrozas (una Carroza
del Orgullo de Manilga y una carroza de ADANA), y una bandera de arco iris de 20 metros (estamos buscando voluntarios para llevar la bandera), junto con varios vehículos patrocinadores, bailarines y artistas a pie, desde Sabinillas al escenario principal en el Puerto de la Duquesa. At 9pm there is a parade comprising of two floats (a Manilva Pride Float and an ADANA float) also a 20 metre long rainbow flag (we are looking for volunteers to carry the flag) along with various sponsoring business vehicles, dancers and paraders on foot, from Sabinillas to the Main Stage in the middle level of Duquesa Port. La Noche De San Juan dará el pistoletazo de salida a las ferias y fiestas de Manilva Del 23 al 24 de Junio vuelve una de las noches mágicas y uno de los acontecimiento más esperados que coincide con el solsticio de verano. Para que vecinos y visitantes disfruten de la noche que inicia la programación festiva del verano, el Ayuntamiento de Manilva ha organizado varios espectáculos de luces, fuegos artificiales y música en directo. La plaza del Cali seguirá siendo el lugar elegido para que a partir de las 20.00h se vaya creando el ambiente necesario para dar colorido a San Juan. La tradicional quema del "júas"
en las playas de Sabinillas iluminará la noche más corta del año. Una puesta en escena que un año más diseña el artista local Juan Oliva con gran acierto. A las doce de la noche son muchas las personas que aprovechan para purificarse, lavándose los pies y la cara en el agua del mar, mientras piden tres deseos; los más atrevidos saltan las pequeñas hogueras, otros arrojan al fuego las peticiones escritas en un papel o las cosas malas con las que quieren acabar. Noche que ahuyenta los malos espíritus y ayuda a que el amor aparezca.

of the year, with the centrepiece being the huge tableau, designed by local artist Juan Oliva, which will be lit at midnight, followed by fireworks and more music into the early hours. Also at midnight many people take the opportunity to purify themselves, washing their feet and face in the sea, while they ask for three wishes; The more daring leap the small bonfires, others throw into the fire their requests written on paper - a night that drives away the evil spirits and helps to make love appear.

Rock clásico vuelve a Estepona Classic rock returns to Estepona On 26th August, classic rock returns to the Plaza De Toros in Estepona for the first time in several years. Not since Deep Purple rocked the town and packed the same venue in 2008 has Estepona seen a concert of this size. The Pink Purple Zep Fest is a celebration of the music of three of the biggest names in rock history, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin. The music will be performed by three of the leading tribute bands from the UK, namely Think Floyd, Deeper Purple and Whole Lotta Led. Whilst it would have been great to have the real bands performing, sadly it is no longer possible to see the real Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin

The Road to Manilva

Environmental charity Arboretum Marbella is celebrating the arrival of summer with an evening event full of art, culture and creativity lit by hundreds of candles on Saturday 17th June from 8pm to Midnight. There will be an exhibition of poetry which celebrates nature, readings of short stories, live music from the Pequeña Orquestra Mediterranea, stalls selling artisan products, delicious food and activities for all the family. This magical event is free of charge, although donations are very welcome and attendees are asked to bring a book to donate. Participants can get involved by writing a short poem about nature and putting it in a tree at the event for everyone to enjoy. They
can also write a mini story of 100 words or less which starts “Then there was darkness…” and the authors will be invited to read out their pieces under the carob tree in the candlelight. The organisers want to stop the use of plastic, so are asking guests to bring their own plate, glass and cutlery if they want to try the delicious seasonal, organic food which will be available to buy. To date they have published two guides, 'The Sherry Triangle' and 'The Road to Manilva - Exploring a forgotten corner of the Costa del Sol'. As Nick says, 'I was a real pain at school, always asking why, how and when. I was the one that asked the deep question just before the end of lesson bell rang. It was only when I was writing for a magazine here in Spain, 'Andalucia Life' that I realised that there are many people out there that always want to know a little more.' The Sherry Triangle explores the three towns that encompass 'the triangle', Sanlucar de Barrameda, Puerto de Santa Maria and Jerez de la Frontera, where to go, what to do, the sites to see. The history of sherry, how it is made and who makes it is the theme that is interwoven through the book. 'The Road to Manilva - exploring a forgotten corner of the Costa del Sol', as the bye line suggests, explores the municipality of Manilva and more. Manilva has only been an independent municipality since 1796. Before that it was a part of Casares. It is debateable whether or not it would exist at all if it were not for the Barbary pirates. Why, well you will have to read the book. 'You would be surprised just how much there is to discover about this forgotten corner of the Costa del Sol. We have been able to include subjects such as the history of amphorae and Roman roads, both integral to the development of the area from Neolithic times up to the present'. Mis dos sobrinos son muy importantes para mí. Ellos han ido pululando por mi casa, avanzando; se aficionan a esto y a lo otro; crecen con el pulso de la noche; sueñan y son estrellas inagotables, fragmentos de tierra, elementos de la niñez y la juventud, marineros del aire suspendidos en el azul oscuro de la absorbente luna. Mis dos sobrinos… Viven conmigo una temporada. ¡Cuántos zapatos, pantalones, zapatillas de deporte y..., un caos en el cuarto! Suena una fuente de música rock, de música bacalao o tecno... Uff..., ah... Y el gran Mozart. Y el gran Chopín... Porque les agrada la música. ¡Vaya!, por fin, la penúltima clase de esta temporada. Las asignaturas pendientes. Las clases particulares puede que sean necesarias. Y después (sin disimulo), con pereza de calor sofocante, las clases en verano: “¡Ojalá que no ocurra!”. Mis sobrinos tienen caracteres distintos. Uno es introvertido, a veces hasta el extremo; diría que su mirada está más allá de lo que sus ojos pueden abarcar. En sus opiniones, es seguro, natural, como natural es su seriedad, pero no es lacónico. Se le nota la influencia de la amalgama social que nos invade: la incertidumbre por el mañana, se cuestiona esa composición que abarque su trabajo. Es encantador cuando quiere. Musical por dentro, apreciando el exterior con vacilación, con miedo quizás, y con valor solo si lo alientas; porque la pregunta nace dentro de su corazón todos los días, y sabe que ya falta poco para el despabilo total en su sangre joven. El otro, más niño (porque tiene tres años menos),

Sabe apreciar las mañanas que le dan el oficio a las calles. Tiene amigos variados, y se adelanta a ellos en tener la suerte de conocer el viento materno de la luna: su madre es noche que le enseña la oración y lo abriga de historias en un cuenco de la almohada. Es un adolescente confinado y marinero. Él viaja, cuando lo dejan, hacia las afueras, llevándose el propio mundo de su juventud y dejando la casa vacía. Me preocupo por ellos. Los quiero. Algunas veces se lamentan de mí (ese sentirse molestos en su rebeldía, propio de una conducta inmadura). Les aconsejo. Los respeto. Siempre deseo lo mejor para ellos y pido a Dios que los proteja de lo malo, que sepan enfrentarse al mundo y desde su experiencia alcancen personalidad. Es lógico amarlos. Siento que también son parte de mí. Me gusta verlos felices. Ellos tienen su modo de ser, reaccionar y sentir. No quiero interferir en sus vidas. Les pido, sobre todo, que sepan elegir, y, maduros y sensatos claven sus ojos en el corazón franco, fiel, visualizando las realidades sustanciales que solo el amor les podrá ofrecer en los días que vienen y van. Age Concern, Estepona and Manilva – Lunch The Vida Sana at Las Mesas, Estepona, was the venue for an Age Concern lunch held on 25th May. The food was excellent and the staff attentive. Conversation flowed freely at this charming location with good views of the
mountains and the sea. Thanks were passed on to Gerard who arranged the event. The next dates for your diary are a lunch to be held on 12th July at a venue to be announced and another advice morning on the 4th July.
Age Concern Charity Shop Age Concern, Estepona and Manilva, receives no financial support from the Council and relies solely on the generosity of people and organisations who donate items we can sell, or money, to enable us to give older people the help they need. Our shop in Calle Zaragoza, Estepona acts as the focal point for the charity as well as raising much needed funds. In spite of the building works progressing along side us where an underground car park
is being excavated (known by us as the swimming pool with mud slide) we are open for business five days a week from 10 am. to 1.30 pm. Ya estamos abiertos - Nueva tienda de la Organización Benéfica Saint George en La Cancelada, Estepona La Organización benéfica Saint George abrió recientemente una nueva tienda en Cancelada. La tercera tienda de la organización está situada en el complejo Aparthotel Autosole, Av. marqués del Duero, a la entrada del pueblo, y es conveniente para los residentes de Cancelada y de las urbanizaciones colindantes. La tienda tiene una gran gama de muebles de segunda mano,
cuadros, artículos de decoración, además de ropa, libros, etc. La tienda está abierta de lunes a sábado de 10 am a 2 pm y los martes y viernes de 5 pm a 8 pm. Al igual que en las otras tiendas, esta tienda es un punto focal para la comunidad local, y la organización planea extender sus servicios como un punto de Citizens Advice Bureau, alquiler

Now Open - Saint George Charity’s new shop in La Cancelada, Estepona The Duquesa Charitable Society of Saint George recently opened a new shop in La Cancelada, Estepona at the beginning of June. This, the charity’s third shop, is situated in the Aparthotel Autosole complex, Av. Marqués del Duero, at the entrance to the village, and is convenient for residents in Cancelada and surrounding urbanisations.
The shop stocks a great range of secondhand furniture, pictures, decorative items, as well as clothes, books, etc. The shop is open from Monday to Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm and Tuesdays and Fridays from 5 pm to 8 pm. As with the charity’s other outlets, the shop also provides a focal point for the local community, and the charity plans to extend its services
such as a Citizens Advice Bureau surgery, disabled equipment hire, etc. to La Cancelada. The shop gratefully accepts donations of quality secondhand furniture, goods and clothes, and would like to invite anyone with a bit of spare time to volunteer to help out in this friendly and informal charity shop. We shall be rolling this scheme out over the coming weeks and months, and are inviting people to donate non-perishable goods, such as long life milk, pasta, rice, biscuits, tinned meat and fish, tinned vegetables, etc. The charity will supplement these items with
fresh produce, and will distribute on a weekly basis to a number of individuals and families that have been identified as being in urgent need of this service. Items can be donated at the St George Charity Shop in Calle Aurora Albornoz, Sabinillas, from 10 am to 1.30 pm Monday to Saturday and from 5 pm to 7.30 pm Tuesdays and Fridays.

Citizens Advice Bureau Spain weekly surgery The Duquesa Charitable Society of St George is hosting a weekly surgery by Citizens Advice Bureau Spain every Wednesday morning from 10.30 am to 1 pm. The surgery will be held at the St George Charity’s new shop in Calle Aurora de Albornoz, Punta Almina, Sabinillas, and is part of the Charity’s community support programme.
If you would like to see one of CAB Spain’s advisers then pop along to the shop on Wednesday morning, although it is advisable to book an appointment as it can sometimes be busy. Family fun run/walk raises almost 1500 euros for Diabetes Spain and Saint George Charity
The Family Fun Run/Walk in aid of Diabetes Spain and Saint George Charity held on the 27th May just before the international family day in Castillo de la Duquesa proved a great success raising almost 1500 euros for charity. Organised by Louise from Fit Together in collaboration with the Saint George Charity and on behalf of Diabetes Spain. The Run/Walk began on the Paseo in Sabinillas with two options, a 3 km or a 6 km route. Congratulations and thanks go to
all those who took part and raised such a large amount, and to those generous sponsors who supported them.

Qué hacer si dos perros se pelean Presenciar una pelea de perros es una experiencia muy desagradable, especialmente si uno de los dos es el tuyo, ya que es inevitable preguntarse qué es lo que has hecho mal, o si de algún modo se podría haber evitado. Partiendo de eso te voy a decir qué hacer si dos perros se pelean, para que en el caso de que veas alguna sepas cómo actuar. Sigue este paso a paso: 1. Ten la mente fría y calmada. Independientemente de quiénes sean los perros, es muy importante mantener la mente fría, y sobretodo calmada. Cuanto más nervioso/a estés, peor se comportarán los animales, y peores podrían ser las consecuencias para el que tenga menos fuerza. 2. Ahora, ve hacia ellos rápido y cógele la cola a uno o sus patas traseras. Pide a alguien que haga lo mismo con el otro. Puede parecer un poco cruel, pero hay que pensar que en ese momento los animales están muy
tensos y que sólo miran a su ”oponente”. Si cualquier persona optara por ponerse en medio de los dos, recibiría un mordisco. 3. Una vez que estén sujetos los dos perros, hay que tratar de separarlos. Sin hacer movimiento bruscos, pero con firmeza. Id dando pequeños pasos hacia atrás hasta que estén lo suficientemente separados como para que podáis ponerles las correas. 4. Una vez las tengan, distanciaros aún más del otro perro. Idos a un sitio en donde no puedan verse, sin decirles ni una sola palabra. 5. Después, echad golosinas para perros en el suelo para que hagan un poco de olisqueo, así lograrán calmarse. Es muy importante que si uno de los perros es el tuyo y/o no te ves capaz de poder hacer nada, entonces que pidas ayuda. A quien sea. Además de no hablarles, tampoco hay que pegarles ni tirarles al suelo para demostrar que,”somos
más fuertes” o que ”somos los que mandamos”. Ellos, simplemente, no lo entenderían, y sólo conseguiríamos que tuviesen

Besides not speaking, one should not hit them or throw them to the ground to show that "we are stronger" or "we are in charge." They simply do not understand, and they will only come to fear us. It is much better to take the dog, in this situation, to a quiet place, and let his nose, his sense of smell work to help a little while he calms down. If there is any evidence that they have suffered any wound, do not hesitate to go to the vet. And then a good walk before going home.

School of Russian Ballet School of Russian Ballet fue fundada por Regina Zarhina en 2012 en Marbella. Regina Zarhina, que presume de años de exitosa experiencia, ha conseguido un grado académico de maestría de teatro y danza en la Universidad de Colorado y una licenciatura en materia de dirección de cine. Ella fue Profesora en el Departamento
de Ballet de la Universidad de Utah, además ha enseñado en la Escuela de Danza Elmhurst de Ballet Real de Birmingham. School of Russian Ballet es una escuela con ámbito profesional aun invitamos a todos quien quiere aprender la técnica del ballet clásico y danza contemporánea. Los alumnos de la Escuela no sólo

Únete al desafío de 90 días ¿Te has mirado alguna vez al espejo y has pensado...tengo que hacer algo, tengo sobrepeso, no estoy en forma y no estoy feliz conmigo mismo? ¿Y cuántas veces has intentado hacer dieta pero te rendiste al mes, o te apuntaste al gimnasio pero solo lo usaste media docena de veces? El fitness es mi vida, es mi forma de vida y mi negocio. Y créeme, como propietaria de un negocio pequeño, solo funciona si estás feliz y disfrutas del programa. Frecuentemente digo que ¡tengo el mejor trabajo del mundo! Quiero que más gente se mueva y haga ejercicio; esto puede añadir años a tu vida, y no es necesario pasar horas y horas en el gimnasio. Así que, he ideado un desafío de 90 días, 15 minutos al día, 5 días a la semana. ¡Y es gratis! La idea es, te enviaré 5 tablas de ejercicios de 15 minutos, que harás 5 veces a la semana. There is no perfect you, but there is a you within that can overflow with happiness, vibrant health and crazy energy, because you now understand you don’t do fitness, you are fitness. Mindset is everything in the pursuit of personal health, but you have to enter the arena with the understanding that fitness isn’t another hobby you only do when you have time or to relax; fitness is the very essence of how you live 24 hours a day, how you think and who you are. You choose to be healthy; then you chose life. You choose to ignore your fitness, and you made a choice… and you will pay for that choice someday, and then when you can’t get out of a chair without help, or play with a child, or hold the hand of the one you love on a walk through the woods, what would you pay then for just one hour of health and life? Table Tennis is now another activity available for local residents to enjoy, with the formation of the Manilva Table Tennis Club. Founded by John Ullger with the aim of providing an opportunity for those wishing to practice or take up the sport from scratch to do so locally. The club meets at the Sabinillas sportshall every Tuesday between
7 pm and 9 pm and currently has two tables, which will be increasing very shortly to five. John is an experienced coach so don’t worry if you’ve never played as he will soon have up and running. Seis tiradores del Club Internacional de Esgrima en el Criterium Nacional de Esgrima El fin de semana pasado en el Polideportivo de San Lorenzo del Escorial (Madrid) ha tenido lugar el Criterium Nacional de esgrima para menores de 10 y 12 años, equivalente al Campeonato de España de esta categoría. Un absoluto espectáculo ver en acción a más de 800 niños dando un ejemplo de deportividad y compañerismo. Todos los niños disfrutaron de una jornada de deporte y de conocer nuevos amigos de toda España con una afición común: la ESGRIMA. Seis tiradores del Club “AndaluZía” de esgrima tomaron parte en esta competición demostrando un gran nivel
deportivo, nobleza, respeto y juego limpio. En menores de 12 años Amelia Dearedon y Catherine Deardon realizaron una gran competición demostrando nuevamente su elegancia y maestría, quedándose a las puertas de una merecida medalla y revalidar su título por una sola victoria, clasificándose entre las mejores tiradoras del torneo. Declan Wharton, Freddy Dixon y Jonas Reinecke participaron en su primera competición nacional con una gran actuación quedándose a unas pocas victorias de la lucha por las medallas. En definitiva una gran actuación
de los representantes del Club de Esgrima “AndaluZía” demostrando nuevamente la buena forma de sus componentes haciendo honor a su lema “todos para uno y uno para todos...” Enhorabuena a todos los componentes del Club Internacional y sus maestros y monitores Miguel Fernández, Lorena Jiménez, Auke Kamstra, Paul Holder y Alberto Zerrada. Apoyo municipal al reto "Surfeando por la Vida" El alcalde de Manilva, Mario Jiménez y el edil de Turismo, Diego Urieta, quisieron estar presentes en el entrenamiento de las chicas que realizarán el reto de "surfeando la vida". Un reto en el que cinco mujeres, que han superado un cáncer, cruzarán a bordo de una tabla de Paddle Surf los más de 10 kilómetros de distancia existentes entre el puerto deportivo de Estepona y el puerto deportivo de La Duquesa. Este evento, que tendrá lugar el próximo sábado 24 de junio, está organizado por la empresa Navigaport y patrocinado por la marca deportiva Mistral, que cederá
la tabla Big SUP sobre la que realizarán la hazaña. Las elegidas para llevar a cabo SURFEANDO LA VIDA son las que ya participaran en el Reto Pelayo en 2016, que consistió en cruzar el Atlántico a bordo de un velero. Para ellas, ser protagonistas ahora de este nuevo reto, supone una oportunidad de volver a demostrar que con voluntad y entusiasmo se puede conseguir todo en la vida. El alcalde de Manilva, Mario Jiménez, quiso destacar el mérito deportivo y sobre todo la lección de vida y el mensaje optimista de unas mujeres que luchan contra la enfermedad y que la superan.

The mayor of Manilva, Mario Jiménez and the mayor of Tourism, Diego Urieta, were present during the training of the women who will perform the "surfing life" challenge. A challenge in which five women, all of whom have overcome cancer, will cross by paddle surf board, the more than 10 kilometres between the marinas of Estepona and La Duquesa. This event, which will take place next Saturday, June 24, is organized by the company Navigaport and sponsored by the Mistral sports brand, which has provided the bg SUP board on which to perform the feat.
