MAKING HISTORY

Recently the Golden Isles chapter of Jack and Jill of America made history as one of the newest chapters in the national organization that was founded in 1938. The chartering milestone celebrated a year of working and living to impact the lives of children in local counties. Shontae Buffington, president of the newly chartered chapter, and Kaia Alderson, chapter vice president, desired to provide an opportunity for their children to engage with other mothers and children via strategic programming. The Golden Isles Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated consists of mother members who reside in Camden, Glynn, and McIntosh Counties and uniquely and strategically strengthens children to be the next generation of leaders through leadership development, volunteer service, philanthropic giving, and civic duty. HEATHER WILSON JOINS KGIB STAFF

Keep Golden Isles Beautiful introduces Heather Wilson its new executive assistant, following the departure of Christy Trowbridge. Although she’s originally from the West Coast, this wife and mother of three has lived in Georgia since 2008, in the Golden Isles since 2014, and has been an active volunteer with KGIB since 2016. Passionate about youth education, Wilson looks forward to engaging our area youth in impactful community betterment projects and efforts and equipping them to make positive differences in our coastal community. Wilson’s tenure as a Girl Scouts regional staff member instilled in her the importance of supporting volunteers and working together to make our little corner of the world a better place. Her experience in event planning, customer service, and non-profit fundraising will also be beneficial. Welcome Heather! kbgib.com
