The main room’s immense fireplace and the river-facing patio are the ideal gathering places after an actionpacked day, while two wood-fired hot tubs and a sauna provide the perfect respite for exhausted hard chargers. Colossal windows and heavily layered interiors are thoughtfully complemented by locally made upholstered headboards and Chilean-made cement bathroom tiles. Far removed from any establishments, Rio Palena Lodge is fueled by culturally driven meals artfully crafted by local chefs. Traditional mud ovens produce Chilean empanadas, while sopaipillas con pebre accompany an array of seafood from Chile’s 4,000 miles of coastline.
