Coral Robots
present simple; introduction to present perfect; introduction to modal verbs; prepositions of place
In Scotland researchers have created some very special robots. They are called coralbot and they have a very special job: to save sea corals. Corals are sea creatures which make the coral reefs in our seas. Many types of plants and animals live there. Fishing can ruin the corals which are found on the sea bed and coralbots can help to save them. The coralbots work together, just like bees, and they rebuild the broken parts of the coral reefs. That’s a big help to the sea and the environment!

The Lambton The story of the Lambton Worm takes place North East of England, in the region of Durham and Sunderland. It says that one day a young man named John Lambton went fishing in the river. He caught a strange creature which looked like a snake but he was too lazy to carry it home, so he threw it in a water well. When he was older John became a soldier and went away to war where he forgot all about the creature. But the strange creature grew and grew until it was an enormous monster which terrorized the local villages and ate the cows and sheep in the nearby fields! Eventually news of the terrible monster reached John and he came back to the North East to kill the awful creature and save the local people!
