2019 Pritsch Cup Recap The 2019 Philadelphia PGA team fell to the New Jersey PGA, as they retained the Jon M. Pritsch Cup with a tied score of 9-9. With several former team players and strong newcomers, the Philadelphia team is looking to bring the trophy back across the Delaware River.

The Story Behind the Jon. M Pritsch Cup The Jon M. Pritsch Cup is played to honor the memory of Jon M. Pritsch, who tragically passed away in May of 1991 at the age of 17. Before his passing, Pritsch was recognized as one of the top junior golfers in the nation. To date, the Jon M. Pritsch Memorial Fund has raised over $200,000 and given away over 100 scholarships to juniors looking to pursue a career in a golf related field.
Philadelphia Pritsch Cup Team Luke Watson, the 2019 Boys 16-18 Division Player of the Year, is one of the retuning players to Team Philadelphia in 2020. Watson finished the 2020 season No. 4 on the points list collecting 1 win and a handful of top-10’s during the 2020 season. A member of the both the 2018 & 2019 Pritsch Cup teams, Dylan Gooneratne returns for his 3rd appearance for Team Philadelphia. The 2019-2020 POY Runner-up won twice on the junior tour this season and hopes to use his experience in the matches. Favorite Club: 56 Degree Wedge Favorite Current Song: Ruthless by Lil Tjay

The 2020 Boys 16-18 Player of the Year, Ryan McCabe, is also making his third Pritsch Cup appearance, having been a member of the 2018 & 2019 teams. McCabe won once on the junior tour this year, along with a handful of top-5 finishes in his 7 starts. McCabe also collected the 2019-2020 Sam Penecale Scoring Average Award for the Boys 1618 Division with an average of 74.5. This was lower than his 2018-2019 scoring average of 75.61, which also earned him the Scoring Average Award last season.
