VERIFIED REVIEWS

Replace 2 interior cracked panels and deal with condensation

The fitter, Andrew, was extremely friendly and polite. He removed his shoes without being asked. He let me know what he was going to do and the work was carried out very efficiently with little mess. We have another window which will also need some repairs and I will definitely call Mr Misty again.

Replacement glass in 5 misted wooden windows Very friendly and efficient service. Excellent work completed by Andrew today

Secondary Double Glazing on a listed Building

So Impressed, I have put Photos and review on Facebook the job is superb. Its cut out almost all the noise we had from the main road units look fantastic you would hardly know they are there. Tonight its been so warm we have had to open doors and I have taken my jumper off - totally unheard of after about August each year let alone in November, Totally blown away with this job.

Fitting secondary glazing

We are thrilled with the work and the customer service provided by Josh. He was so tidy and the glazing looks so good. We have had acoustic glass fitted and as we live by the road it has made a huge difference. We have had lots of positive comments. We would highly recommend Mr Misty for secondary glazing.

Replaced sealed units in three windows

A really professional job. From the quote to the finished windows everything done to a very high standard. Arrived punctual, job carried out with no fuss and everywhere left clean and tidy.

Foundation launches

Santa Paws for Christmas

DOGShave been invited to get dressed up and bring their well-behaved owners to a special Christmas walk.

Scores of the four-legged friends are expected to turn out for The Tom Bowdidge Youth Cancer Foundation’s first ever Santa Paws, a festive dog walk through spectacular Colchester scenery not usually open to the public.

The event, set to run on December 4, will see them choose between a threemile or one-mile walk to raise money for young people with cancer. It comes as Tom’s beloved dog Barney is currently fighting his own cancer battle, and being treated with the same chemotherapy drugs as his human owner.

and Founder of The Tom Bowdidge Youth Cancer Foundation, said: “We already have amazing Santa runs in Colchester, but we really wanted to do something Christmasy to celebrate. We don’t seem to have anything with dogs, so we thought ‘why not’!

“We love our dogs, we love dressing them up and we think this is something that will just look spectacular. All dogs will be given their own dog bandana, but we don’t want to let that stop them going all out. If you’re a dog and you like getting dressed up, go for it.

“Emma, Tom’s sister, will be bringing her beautiful dog Bruce on the day, and we are keeping our fingers crossed Barney will also be feeling up to it. But as he is currently suffering

what his human dad went through we won’t be making a decision until closer to the time. He is responding well to chemotherapy, which is really positive.”

Santa Paws will be held at St Mary’s Lower School, London Road, Colchester, and explore across nearby Bellhouse Woods, parts of which are usually closed to the public, with starts times from 10am to 1pm.

Four-legged friends go free, while adults can book their tickets for £10 in advance or £13 on the day. Both include a free dog bandana and Santa hat. Children aged three and over are £5 in advance, or £6 on the day, which include reindeer antlers, while twos and under go free.

Littlegarth – the ideal independent primary school experience

Littlegarth is a non-selective independent preparatory school for children between the ages of 2½ and 11 situated in the beautiful Stour Valley overlooking the village of Nayland.

Littlegarth prides itself on preparing children thoroughly for the rigours of entrance exams to grammar and selective independent schools whilst embracing a broad and exciting curriculum. Specialist teachers offer guidance in key subjects and the children achieve extremely high standards in a wide range of activities.

The school has been judged as ‘Outstanding’ in all four categories in the school’s latest ISI inspection and the excellent reputation the school

has for academic success was highlighted in the Standard Inspection Report which commented, “The overall achievement of the pupils is excellent, because of the exemplary attitude to learning by the pupils, who approach every task with delightful enthusiasm” and “The evidence from the inspection is that the pupils make exceptional progress when compared with those of similar above-average ability”

8 www.elitemagazine.co.uk

Littlegarth children also achieve excellent standards in music, art and drama and in recent years sports teams have achieved unbeaten seasons and have won regional and national titles in major sports. Children of all abilities acquire a passion for a wide variety of activities inside and outside the classroom and the school works hard to feed that enthusiasm to ensure that each child leaves Littlegarth a confident member of a successful team.

Littlegarth recently received a visit from The Good Schools guide and the glowing review resulting from this visit and subsequent interviews with parents can be found on the School’s website.

Despite the huge difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the children continued to receive their full curriculum and results in external exams have seen 11 children achieve places at our

local grammar schools while all children gained places at the independent schools of their choice. In the past four years, more than half of the Year 6 leavers have been awarded scholarships to senior independent schools with 80 children gaining over 120 scholarship awards. Head, Kathy Uttley is delighted with these excellent results; ‘The children and staff worked extremely hard in a very difficult year and we are very proud of the achievements of all our children. They really enjoy supporting each other and children of all ability levels feel that they are making a valuable contribution to the success of this very exciting school’.

Essex home improvement company goes even

Leading Essex home improvement company

SEH BAC has increased its green credentials by introducing the most ecofriendly glass window unit on the UK market.

EcoMAX Glass™, an ecofriendly glass unit designed with sustainability at its core, will now be installed as standard wherever possible alongside SEH BAC’s wide range of thermally efficient windows.

It performs on par with typical A and A+ rated windows and is produced from the highest level of recycled materials making it almost 100% biodegradable. EcoMAX will also plant a tree for every unit sold.

It is just the latest in a long line of steps SEH BAC has made over the last two years to not only offer customers the most sustainable products they can but become super sustainable as a company too.

They have reduced the amount of paper at their headquarters, show centres and the sites where they work, while all their depots use the Green recycling company for their waste, so uPVC is recycled with separate glass unit skips.

To help further lower CO2 emissions, they have also replaced cars with electric vehicles and will continue to do so as vehicles in the fleet are replaced, we are also using more renewable energy and replacing the lighting in their offices with more energy efficient lights.

SEH BAC’s Sales and Marketing Director Steve Rawding commented: “Sustainability is becoming increasingly important and that’s only going to increase as we strive to reach the Government’s zero carbon emissions 2050 target.

“Being able to offer EcoMAX Glass™ as standard is great and planting a tree for every unit sold is a wonderful way of saying thank you to customers. But our drive to become more sustainable comes with not just providing sustainable products; we also continue to reduce our own carbon footprint as much as we can.

“The environmental improvements we have made internally at our head office and nine show centres, as well as a drive for all staff to become more eco-aware, have improved our service too.

Going paperless, for example, has already had an impact on efficiency for staff and customers, helping us to improve our lead times.”

With more than 50 years’ experience installing to homes in Essex, SEH BAC is currently offering up to 40% off windows, doors and conservatories.
