Authentic timber-look windows that don’t cost the earth
Thecharacter of traditional timber windows cannot be beat but replacing them can be an expensive business.
Homeowners with properties in conservation areas or period properties are particularly vulnerable to the potential extra cost as any home improvements must be in keeping with the original property and the surrounding area.
According to Steve Rawding, Sales and Marketing Director at leading South East home improvement company SEH BAC, replacing your timber windows doesn’t have to be as costly as you think thanks to uPVC wood effect windows such as Residence
“There’s no doubt that aesthetically timber windows look fantastic, but with uPVC wood effect windows such as the popular Residence 7 and
Residence 9 you get all the benefits of high-performance uPVC,” explained Steve.
“They are cost-effective and with Residence 9 windows featuring nine insulating chambers and Residence 7 incorporating seven, they are incredibly thermally efficient They also have the bonus of being low maintenance compared to timber windows. uPVC is finished in an anti-fade protective coating, so it won’t fade, split or crack over time and it only needs an occasional wipe to remove any dirt.”

Everymonth, as a team, we identify and celebrate the successes of our foster carers. We know that foster carers face challenges and that it is important to receive some recognition and thanks.
Foster carer shortages are deepening in England with one in eight fostering households having quit, and more leaving than joining, over the past year. Severe shortage of foster carers is catastrophic for local children.
There has been a UK-wide shortage of foster carers for years. 2023 is no different, however the situation is exacerbated by an increase in children coming into foster care.
A lack of foster carers means that children who need to stay local often cannot; this is having a devastating effect on children across the UK.
“We need a diverse pool of foster carers, so that we can
match children according to their needs, including the need to stay local,” says Lucy Stevens, Head of Recruitment at Eastern Fostering Services. “Children need well-thoughtout, well-matched fostering families to thrive.”
People considering fostering should have a spare bedroom available and can contact team@ easternfosteringservices. com or 01206 299775.
As a prospective foster carer, you will need to find out as much as you can. We’re here to help you at this stage of your journey. Why not come to one of our fostering information events? You can find out more about our events on our Facebook page.
