Sheila Ray Member Spotlight
The Spotlight shines on our newest member, Joe Schuster, who has been actively volunteering for bingo and enjoying our day trips.
Joe, how long have you been a member of the Sheila Ray Adult Center? I became a member of the center in February, so it has been less than a year.
What are some of the activities you enjoy at the center? Billiards, bingo and day trips.
What do you like most about the center?
I really appreciate the sense of community at the center. Everyone is so welcoming and the center’s activities are run really well by staff. I also really enjoy calling bingo on Thursdays!
What made you want to join the center?
My wife and I were looking for something to do. After going on several day trips, we decided to join the center and participate in more activities.

What’s the Buzz ...
Our butterfly garden is in full bloom due to the warm weather. The new planters have kept the gardening club weeding and watering. Our trips have been spectacular and all our lunches are fun and delicious. In April we had the Fashion Show Luncheon, a bocce ball trip to Pinstripes, and a trip to see the musical School of Rock. May featured a variety of exciting events including the Spring Bazaar, a captivating magic show luncheon, trips to White Fence Farm and The Little Traveler. June was filled with fun activities such as attending the Chicago Dogs baseball game and enjoying a fun "Take Me out to the Ballgame" luncheon.
We still have so much more planned. July will be the lunch cruise on Lake Michigan, an Ice Cream Social in the Park, and a trip to Starved Rock. August is the Senior Prom with Croozin' the Loop performing. The 90th+ Birthday Celebration and a trip to Cantigny will be the highlight of the month. September is our Fall Fun Party Luncheon, a trip to Lake Geneva for a fish boil, and a Pabst Mansion Tour Trip. So you can see we are going to be very busy the next three months. If you find time, check out the butterfly garden and vegetable garden in the back of the building.
Enjoy the warm summer weather.
Donna Tognocchi, Advisory Board President
