Oliver Sacks: Initial Research These were some of the main sources that I used for my initial research. Gathering information about Sacks himself, his life, work and career helped me to develop the first stages of my visual journal.

Screen Printing

Screen Printing was my most successful method of printing, so I decided to use design my final prints with this in mind. My prints are based on the patients that Sacks worked with, focusing the symptoms from a personal and exterior perspective of three different neurological conditions.

First tester prints: positives created by using two bitmap layers. This wasn't successful as I wanted the two inks to mix in the middle of the circle to create a gradient.

Refined positives for prints: using one screen and a split fountain with printing inks.
