BA (Hons) Illustration - Level 06 OUIL603 Extended Practice – Major Brief BRIEF TITLE: An Illustrated Guide of Amsterdam Brief Produce a body of work based on visiting Amsterdam, and portray both a visual and physical experience of exploring a new city for the first time through illustrated ephemera.

-Illustrated travel guide that could be visually interactive -Fold out map of the city highlighting hidden gems and attractions -Postcards -Other merchandise such as tote bags, badges, t-shirts etc
To provide tourists with a more intricate,visually enticing and historical description of the city through illustrative means.

-Visual travel guide -Information leaflet/pack -Map of the city Distributed in: -Art gallery shops -Independent book shops -Larger book stores such as waterstones -Student travel agents e.g. STA
-Mostly late teens/young adults up to around people aged 35/40 max. -Students -Refreshing, quirky and visually appealing tone of voice.
Additional information/Considerations: I could propose packs for additional European cities as part of abRANGE of travel guides that I could develop.
Deliverables A visually engaging travel guide. This could exist as a pack, a fold out map or series of merchandise that could be sold in stores.

Create a sketchbook recording my findings in the city. This can be in documentary/ reportage style, observational drawings, both really. Take photographs, talk to people, visit museums and galleries, be a tourist. Find out what really interests me, and how I can communicate those interests with others.
