SUMMER LEARNING ADVENTURES INFORMATION Dates:

Summer School begins on Monday, June 20 and runs through Friday, July 22. There will be no classes held on Friday, July 1 and Monday July 4.

Times:

Incoming Kindergarten - Current Kindergarten (Momentum Program) at Dixon Elementary Classes begin at 8:00am and end 11:55am Grade 1 - Grade 4 at Burleigh Elementary Classes begin at 8:10am and ends at 12:05pm Grade 5 - Grade 8 at Brookfield East High School Classes begin at 8:15am and ends at 12:15pm

Location:

Incoming Kindergarten - Current Kindergarten (Momentum Program) at Dixon Elementary, 2400 Pilgrim Square Dr, Brookfield. PLEASE REGISTER ALL STUDENTS AT THEIR CURRENT GRADE. Current 1st - 4th grade classes will be held at Burleigh Elementary, 16185 Burleigh Place, Brookfield. PLEASE REGISTER ALL STUDENTS AT THEIR CURRENT GRADE. Current 5th - 8th grade classes will be held at Brookfield East H.S., 3305 N. Lilly Road, Brookfield. PLEASE REGISTER ALL STUDENTS AT THEIR CURRENT GRADE.

Fees:

The District will use Infinite Campus to allow parents to pay summer school transportation fees. You are encouraged to pay fees online via a debit/credit card or e-check, no additional transaction fees will be applied. To begin, login to your Infinite Campus Parent Portal account. Click here for instructions on how to view and pay fees.

Refunds:

NO BUS REFUNDS are issued once the summer school session has begun.

Open House:

Wednesday, June 15, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm You and your child can navigate the hallways to see where their classrooms are located. Staff will be available.

Registration:

• Registration opens on Wednesday, February 23 and closes Thursday, March 3 at 12 Noon at 12 Noon via the Infinite Campus

Portal. • For current Elmbrook District students you will log into your Infinite Campus Account and select 21-22 Summer School Registration. Follow the prompts to select your summer school courses. • Click here for Summer School Online Registration Instructions. • If you are a new family with children entering Kindergarten in 2021-22, please complete the District’s online enrollment form and provide required verification documents by February 22, 2022. • PRIVATE & PAROCHIAL STUDENTS ENROLLING FOR SUMMER SCHOOL Online Enrollment Instructions • New Private Parochial Students to Summer School: In order to complete course selection beginning Wednesday, February 23 and closes Thursday, March 3 at 12 Noon, you must complete the online registration and upload requested verification documents by February 22. • Returning Private and parochial students: If your child attended summer school in the district last year you will need to complete online enrollment in order to ensure we have the most up-to-date information on file. This needs to be completed by February 22. You do NOT need to provide residency verification or your child’s birth certificate. • Course placement is by lottery, every student has the same priority in course placement. Your Summer School Schedule will be posted in your student’s Infinite Campus Account on or about March 24 at 12 Noon.

Transportation:

Due to the number of students enrolled in Summer School, students are strongly encouraged to use the district bus transportation. Students will board buses at their neighborhood school and be transported to summer school locations. At the end of the summer school day, students will be transported back. There is NO home-to-home service. Bus transportation is not available for students attending only one or two periods a day. If your child receives free or reduced lunch at school, you are eligible for free tuition for bus transportation. You must notify the summer school office to have the waiver applied.

Transportation Fee:

$50/child with a two student fee cap. Click here for instructions on how to view and pay summer school transportation fees. Please email the summer school coordinator at summerschool@elmbrookschools.org if you have more than 2 students. The system doesn’t automatically acknowledge the discount.


SUMMER LEARNING ADVENTURES INFORMATION CONT. After School Care:

The West Suburban YMCA will be offering a 5-day Summer School Wrap Around Camp for K-8 grade at Burleigh Elementary School from 12:15-6:00 pm. To participate in the YMCA program, the student must be enrolled in a third period class. To register or for more information about this camp visit online at www.gwcymca.org. If your child is attending summer school at Brookfield East High School and will use the YMCA Wrap Around Camp, you MUST sign up for busing and pay for the bussing fees. Please contact elmbrookwrapcamp@gwcymca.org with questions or for more information.

Students With Individual Educational Plans (IEPs):

If you feel your child with a disability may need access to the accommodation provided to them during the school year in their IEP to participate in a summer school course, please contact your child’s case manager to set up an IEP meeting. *Please note that having an IEP does not bypass the lottery process for summer school.

Bus Locations for Morning Pick-Up & Afternoon Drop-Off: Busses will pick-up and drop-off students at each of the following

buildings in the District: Brookfield Elem., Dixon, Swanson, Tonawanda, Pilgrim Park, Wisconsin Hills, Brookfield Central and Fairview South. • Pick up and drop off times are TBD • Notification will be sent to parents closer to the start of summer school

Parent Drop-Off:

• Please do not park and leave your vehicle unattended in the drop-off area. This area is utilized for a quick curbside drop-off and pick-up only. • All waiting vehicles will be asked to pull forward as other vehicles leave to relieve congestion. • We ask parents who wish to escort their children in and out of school to please park in designated locations.

BCHS Incoming Grades 8-12 • BCHS: Course Number 2003 This course offering is a strength, speed, and conditioning course geared toward the highly motivated student who wants to improve their strength, power, speed, endurance, agility, and flexibility through a five week summer training program. The goal of this class is to improve student’s athleticism off the field so they can reach their potential on the field. All students will participate in specially designed weight workouts, agility and conditioning programs that best fit their desire to improve. Students will get the tools needed to be successful High School student athletes through the daily hard work, sweat, and effort in the fitness activities offered to them in the course, as well as developing the platform to live a healthy lifestyle.
