This course is open to all those who would like to explore various media. Students will have an opportunity to sketch, draw, sculpt, paint, and make crafts out of scraps of material, string, buttons or beads. Have fun making one-of-kind works of art during this arts and crafts adventure.

This course is a blend of language arts, mathematics, and logical reasoning that focuses on the skills to build the riddles and the storyline for an escape room or breakout box. Their objective is to create an engaging story that follows a set of challenging puzzles to “break free” from the box. Students will focus on concept mapping in language arts all the while developing their critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in mathematics. Their logical reasoning skills will be heightened with their puzzle designs as they learn to productively work in a team. Be prepared to have fun and challenge your thinking like never before.

Join us to play fun card games and strategy games. In this course, students will discover strategies using math, logic, and problem-solving skills to become the champion of the class. Games such as Battleship, Othello, Mancala, Knockout, Blokus, Uno, Phase 10, Skip Bo, Farkel, and many more will be played to develop strategies and higher-level thinking.

High energy and loads of fun! Students will learn basic skills of Mandarin Chinese language, explore the fascinating world of Asian culture, taste simple Asian food and try out traditional games and activities such as paper cutting, chopstick race, and Chinese hacky sacks, etc. Finally students will end the summer session with a dragon dance!

Learn some basics of acting and learn to feel more comfortable speaking in front of others. A great class for anyone who has acting talent to develop or someone who just wants to get over the “stage fright” of doing a presentation in front of a group. Presentations are all student-invented, so there will be a lot of opportunity to use creativity and imagination.
