From the Director’s Desk The Kernodle Center would like to extend a special welcome to Bob Frigo, our new Associate Director! His experience in student activities, leadership, and service-learning has been such an asset to us this semester. We have seen some new events and programs additions as well, including the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Walk and a LINCS position the Salvation Army Food Pantry.

Growth continues in our involvement with the Poverty Simulation, which now runs four times each year, and the Civic Engagement Scholars program, which currently enrolls 50 students. -Mary Morrison

25th

Anniversary

This fall, EV! and Habitat for Humanity celebrated their 25th anniversaries! We had some special events during Homecoming, including a Habitat build and a reception with alumni. It was wonderful to see so many alumni return and talk about their experience with EV! or Habitat. We’d love to hear from you too! We’ve had a great first 25 years and are excited for the future! –Evan Small

Downtown Engagement KCSLCE finished our third full year of the Downtown/ E. Burlington BioBus route, making eight stops throughout Burlington and Elon. This has had an unprecedented impact as the route not only serves all members of campus, but also provides no cost transportation to greater Alamance County, where public transportation is not yet available. Current numbers show that about half of our riders are from Elon University and half are community members. -Tammy Cobb
