ENTREPRENEURIAL PARTNERSHIP

Community Chest partnered with the Bertha Centre at the 2017 Do-ference where six innovative young entrepreneurs were identified for further engagement. During 2018, the partners provided the selected entrepreneurs with opportunities for updates, sharing and networking.

A business networking breakfast was held where all six met and engaged with one another, sharing their business trajectory since the conference. The team also gathered for a public panel discussion entitled Social Entrepreneurship: The Trials and Triumphs.

In October 2018, one of the Community Chest Bertha Centre Top entrepreneurs was selected as one of the ten South African “startups to watch” finalists in the tough Seedstars World, a seed-stage startup competition for emerging markets.

Co-founder and Operations Director, Jacques Sibomana’s Kuba partners with small business owners to bring them digital tools that help them access new markets as well as streamline their operations. Kuba went on to win a Gold Award in November at the Community Chest Impumelelo Social Innovations Awards.
