Welcome in Lubuskie region The Green Land of Modern Technology. The most tolerant and open region in Poland! Greetings, Lubuskie is a fantastic region with an exceptional diversity of cultures. Here, you will meet people who are open to change, well-educated, hard working, and who will inspire action and cooperation. It is also a great place to make new investments, implement ambitious objectives and fulfil dreams. Lubuskie is not only boldly growing automotive, wood, information and metal industries but it is also ecological, healthy food, eno- and agritourism, as well as what distinguishes us on the map of Poland – our winemaking industry. The same map shows that Lubuskie is an accessible region, connecting the European north-south and eastwest trade routes. And always on the path to a modern Europe! For many years, we have cooperated with numerous world regions, including China’s Hainan and Sichuan provinces and the city Wuxi in Jiangsu province. The agreement between Poland and China opens a new chapter for us – we are ready for a business partnership and what is more – the implementation of joint projects. Time is too precious to be wasted. Lubuskie welcomes you! Elżbieta Polak The Marshall of Lubuskie Province

LUBUSKIE In the heart of Europe The Lubuskie region is situated in the heart of Europe, along the Polish-German border, approximately 100 km from Berlin. Not only is Lubuskie a place for relaxation and recreation (because of forests constituting approximately 50% of the region’s area and more than 500 lakes), it is also a region characterised by the manufacturing of a diverse range of industrial products delivered mainly to European consumers and, increasingly, to other continents as well. The area of nearly 14 thousand sq kilometers is inhabited by over one million people, with makes it one of the lowest population densities in Poland at 72 inhabitants per 1 sq km. The two biggest cities, the capitals of the region, are the seat of the Marshall of Lubuskie Province in Zielona Góra and Lubuskie Province Governor in Gorzów Wielkopolski. Through the region pass the strategic transit routes of east-west (Belin-Moscow) and north-south traffic from Scandinavia to the Balkans, moreover the Zielona Góra-Babimost airport operates in the region, providing passenger and cargo services.
NaturaL Resources The use of natural resources plays an important role in Lubuskie province. In 2013, the biggest petroleum and natural gas mine in Poland was opened in Lubiatów. It will provide an oil supply to the national market as well as a gas supply to, amongst other things, a heating plant in Gorzów Wlkp. The construction and opening of the Mining Energy Complex in Gubin-Brody based on the brown coal reserves may give a powerful impulse to the development of the region. It is one of the priority investments in Lubuskie whose implementation would provide excess capacity to the region and, at the same time, would become a significant element of the EU energy market. The use of copper and silver resources in a some places in Lubuskie still remains an open issue. The high copper content of the ore as well as the amount of ore resources (including Bytom Odrzański and Kotla) guarantee profitability of its extraction and hundreds of job opportunities.
Abundant sand, gravel and mineral deposits occurring in the area allow for production of building materials such as roofing tiles, bricks, building blocks, paving stones and also glass melting products (VITROSILICON). Special attention should be given to the Lubuskie producers of concrete blocks with vibro-pressed concrete technology, who offer further innovative products on the domestic market such as photocatalytic pavement blocks that reduces air pollution (companies: ZIEL BRUK and ZPB Kaczmarek). In Lubuskie province, ROCKWOOL Polska Sp. z o.o. has been a manufacturer of mineral wool since 1993. Its products are used for thermal, acoustic and fire safe insulation in housing, general, industrial and commercial construction industries as well as technical installations.

LEISURE TIME Lubuskie after work...‌
Lubuskie, Land of Wine and Honey Traditions of winemaking in the soils of Lubuska go back to the 13th century. It used to be popular and cultivated over the centuries and was subsequently forgotten by the residents, particularly in the southern part of the province. Today, it has again become an important element of the Lubuskie landscape. Viniculture has been gradually growing in popularity in recent years and, with it, has developed enoturism, in other words wine tours. Today, the idyllic landscape of Lubuskie includes picturesque vineyards next to lakes and forests.
