Nautical science regards the application of theoretical methodologies towards exploration and navigation. It may even be considered a technical art given its etymology, according to crosslinguistic terminology. We all know terms like astronautics/cosmonautics, aeronautics, clionaut, cybernaut/internaut, nautics itself, etc. From that very notion, it may also be brought into account techniques of study and exploration of non-physical realms designed by human mind to understand and developing new frames of epistemic interpretation on symbolic forms, such as neurology, psychology, semantics, and so on. Now whether any of those ponderings and integration of relevant objects be a science or an art, does not matter under lexical terms at least because exploration and studying something already implies a theoretical framework as well as a specialized technique and practice. In that sense, a few recently coined terms may be recalled such as oneironautics or psychonautics. Any phenomena may therefore be spelt along the lines of a semionautics in the same sense of a general semantics and ontology disciplines, regardless of their application fields and taxonomic position. Semionautics as an exploration and study of symbolic forms e.g., meanings, signs, icons, indexes, ideas or thoughts, subsets up a theoretical framework from which interpretation must inherently be brought into accountable consideration. Hermenautics is such framework that allows the extension and covering of hermeneutics and its multiplicity of subfields, methodologies, applications, and tasks. Only then we might design and test any taxonomy, semantic gap and semantic network under the study and description of reality with through componential analysis, semantic differential.
