Tails to Tell The Wheel Deal with Maverick Jack Russell / Rat Terrier mix age 6 When I was 1 year old, I was hit by a car. It severed my spine and paralyzed me from the waist down. The doctors said I would never recover. But my mom, Heidi of Polka Dogz Pet Rescue, wanted to give me a second chance. Now I’m the mascot of Polka Dogz, and I get to help other disabled dogs find their own forever homes. I may not walk the way most dogs do, but I certainly know how to roll with whatever comes my way.
