AUTOMATIONMACHINE LOADED BY ROBOT
FLEXIBLE LOADING AND AUTOMATION CONCEPTS
The VM Series is just as flexible and varied at loading as it is at machining. For manual loading, the machines are fitted with large, if needed NC, front doors, which ensure optimal access to the machining area. In addition, the machines have a side door, which is also NC and considerably expands the accessibility of the machine and thereby the options on how to position it. Therefore, loading concepts with robots or with a gantry can be easily implemented, as the examples on this page demonstrate.

VM 9 BD – THE MOST EFFICIENT MACHINE FOR MANUFACTURING BRAKE DISCS

BENEFITS
+ Perfect chip flow for high quality turning (machining dry castings)
+ Sturdy machine body made of MINERALIT® polymer concrete with optimum vibration-damping properties
+ Special turret with nine VDI 40 tool positions + one BMT 65 tool position for hydraulic straddle tool
+ Flexible loading and unloading concept: manual, with crane, or automated with robot
MANUAL LOADING
Access to the machining area is easy through the large front door and allows the machine to be loaded manually. This is made significantly easier by the fact that the spindle is at the bottom of the workarea. A range of clamping equipment is available to secure the workpiece.
LOADING USING A GANTRY OR CRANE
The easy access to the machining area also allows for overhead loading solutions such as cranes or gantries. For example, EMAG can supply a new gantry system without a drag chain, that includes signals and power using optical and inductive equipment.
LOADING BY ROBOTIf desired, it is also easy to develop a line concept that is robot loaded. For this, the machine will be fitted with an NC side door that allows the machine to be operated completely automatically.
