ROSES SYMBOLIZE RESPECT, COURAGE & PASSION WHILE BLACK CONTAINS THE ENERGY OF THREATENING

I

t's time to stumble across this gorgeous picture of Emma Leigh Angeline Hauck and a wonderful colour palette, with a touch of warm black tones. If our world of feathers tickles your imagination and you'd like to find out more, allow yourself to be seduced by the attraction of black colour. Model Emma Leigh Angeline, grew up in a small town in Central New Jersey, started modelling in 2012 and has built a substantial portfolio since. She has been featured in the Australian Publication "Like a Lion".

EMMA LEIGH ANGELINE 35

This shoot gives the feeling of myster y, intrigue , softness, sophistication, luxury and understated glamour. Black was one of the first colours used by artists in Neolithic cave paintings. This photo shoot is the combination of love , gentleness and mourning, death. Roses symbolize respect, courage and passion, those are the indications of enthusiasm, desire and fascination while in times of fear and uncertainty black contains the energy of the threatening unknown.

37

This colour is seen as a restful emptiness into w h i c h a ny t h i n g m ay emerge and disappear once again. It is also mysterious, providing a sense of potential and possibility. Put some black in your life when you want to become inconspicuous, to open the door, to mystery, to prepare for the unknown a restful emptiness. Emmaleigh looks like a bond girl character that is a love interest of bond. During the conversation with the EMAL magazine she says Modelling has always been a dream of mine, and I'm 38

turning my dream into reality through hard work and determination. I'm a very family oriented person, and I am a big animal lover. Dogs, birds, and ferrets are all a part of my family. In my spare time, I like to read, draw, and spend time with my fantastic jovial friends. I love to sample different types of tea, Playing classical piano is a hobby of mine. I plan on going to school for pre-medicine, then medical school to become a doctor.

I

KADAFI ZAMAN

n modern society, news media are the chief purveyors of information and opinion about public affairs. Journalism, however, is not to be confused with the news media or the news itself. In some nations, the news media is government-controlled and not an independent body that operates with in a journalistic framework. In democratic societies, access to information can play a key role providing a system of checks and balances designed to limit the over reach of powers concentrated in governments, businesses and other entities and individuals. Access to verifiable information gathered by independent media sources adhering to journalistic standards can also provide ordinary citizens with the tools they need to participate in the political process.

42

I fear God and no one else. It might sound like a clichĂŠ but that's how it works for me. If I had been thinking about everything that could happen all

The core purpose of a journalist is to research, document, write, and present the news in an honest, ethical, and unbiased way.Although the method for reporting the news may be changing, the need for talented, qualified and educated journalists is more important than ever. One of the most famous names in International journalism is Kadafi Zaman Born in Norway, a PakistaniNorwegian that has been a journalist for TV2 news, the famous Norwegian news channel. He also spent three years at VG Norway's biggest newspaper, which needs no introduction. Zaman has also been instrumental in TV2's coverage of the terrorist attack against Norway on 22 July. Zaman was born and raised in

43

Norway of Pakistani parents. He is also a former local politician in Lier municipality of Labour. He is a talented author and has written many articles for newspapers as well as books including "Norway in black, white and brown. He has covered a lot of acute dilemmas exclusively related to crime, misconduct, terrorism and immigration in Norway.

His career includes many international assignments and putting his life in danger to provide authentic and meaningful information to the world.

He has been amongst the first journalists at the biggest news events in recent years, valued for the quality of his journalism. He was in the border areas between Afghanistan and Pakistan by 11 September 2001, tsunami in Banda Aceh in 2004, also the earthquake in Kashmir in 2005.He has also covered the Hajj in Saudi Arabia, the Bhutto assassination, the largest fall in Pakistan's politics. Zaman has covered them all with his insightful brand of journalism. And many more like the Gaza war 2009, floods that affected large parts of Pakistan in the autumn of 2010, revolution in Egypt in 2011. The list just goes on. In autumn 2012 he was the first Norwegian journalist to be granted a visa to Iran for several years. This shows the high regard with which he is held due to his conduct and passion towards journalism.

44

How did you get started working in media? I studied journalism in Stavanger University. After that I started to work for a regional newspaper. Two years later I was headhunted by the largest paper in Norway, VG. Why did you decide to be a journalist? I want to make a difference. I want to tell stories about the common people.About people in their struggle against a powerful state. About people who are suffering in a war. About people who want to be heard. Any tip you want to give to newly born media persons. I think it's very important to be dedicated and humble. Journalism is a profession which requires a lot of responsibility. We should be the voice of the weak. We should expose the

powerful and the corrupt. To achieve this one needs patience. Start working with a small paper or TV and work hard. There is no short cut if you want to stay strong. A s y o u a r e a n i n t e r n a t i o n a l ly k n ow n personality please share some of your experiences round the world. I have been very lucky to experience a lot of events in recent history. I covered the war in Afghanistan after 9/11. Remember how we stayed in Peshawar and just waited for weeks. After the tsunami in

45

2004 I was sent to Banda Aceh in Indonesia. I have never seen such devastations in my life. There were dead people all over. Another thing I remember very well was the coverage of Hajj. It was a strong experience to just see the Kaba and witness the pilgrimage of millions of people. I was also among the few journalists that went with the same plane as Benazir Bhutto when she returned to Pakistan after many years in exile. Some hours after the landing in Karachi there was a suicide attack killing more than 140 people. I will never forget those who died for Bhutto. I could mention many more experiences but another event that has had a strong impact on me was the flood in Pakistan in 2010. We started the coverage in Swat and drove all the way down to Sukkur. I have never seen so many children and women suffering before.

You have been a former Local politician in Lier municipality of labour, being a politician serving among the people or being a journalist playing with dangers! Which one you liked? I must say that I admire the work politicians do. It's not an easy job. But in countries like Norway people dedicate themselves to work for others. In a country with almost no corruption and no huge financial

46

benefits that's really impressive. I don't miss being a politician. I feel that I can do more in my present job. I can highlight the issues I find important in a more effective way.

family and friends. I also love sports, like football and badminton. If I have some extra days off I prefer to travel to some nice city or a beach and just relax.

What is your favourite thing about your job? The best thing about my job is that I never know what will happen. Every single day is different. I can wake up and go to work in the morning and a couple of hours later I can suddenly be on a plane to Cairo or Brazil.

On the borders in the sight of terrorists aren't you scared? I fear God and no one else. It might sound like a clichĂŠ but that's how it works for me. If I had been thinking about everything that could happen all the time I would never have manage to do my job. How did you come to hear about and what would you comment for Emal Magazine? I heard about Emal magazine through my dear friend Nadim Bajwa. He is a man among men.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO WRITE ABOUT? I LIKE TO WRITE ABOUT SOCIAL ISSUES. AND TRENDS THAT ARE CHANGING.

How would you like to spend your free time? I like to spend time with my

GRAVITY By ALFONSO CUARON

D

irector Alfonso Cuarón has spent the last few years putting together his upcoming film, “Gravity,” a high-budget, visually stunning film that promises to b r i n g t h e i n c o n c e i v a b ly beautiful view from space to the silver screen. Based on the trailer for the film, it seems that this will be one of the few films to demand an IMAX viewing experience, and based on a few comments by James Cameron,

“The film is going to be worth every penny of the absurdly high IMAX ticket cost.” At once the most realistic and beautifully choreographed film ever set in space, Gravity is a thrillingly realized survival story spiked with interludes of breath-catching tension and startling surprise. Not at all a science fiction film in the conventional sense. “Gravity” is Cuarón's first

72

movie since his spectacular 2006 film “Children of Men,” and after years of work, Cuarón has decided that “Gravity” is finally ready for release. The film stars Sandra Bullock as Dr. Ryan Stone, a brilliant scientist who travels into space to help make a difficult repair on a broken satellite. With astronaut Matt Kowalsky (George Clooney) by her side, the repair seems to be going well when a cloud of space debris comes crashing into the satellite and the sends them hurtling into space. The duo is forced to work together to escape the infinite void of space and return back to Earth before their oxygen supplies are exhausted. Apparently Bullock and Clooney are the only actors who show their faces in the movie and although trailers indicate that Ed Harris

is part of the cast as well, reports have indicated that the bulk of the movie is left in the capable hands of Bullock and Clooney. Gravity opened at the 70th Venice International Film Festival in August 2013. Its North American premiere was three days later at the Telluride Film Festival. It is scheduled for wide release in the United States and Canada on October 4, 2013.

EMMALINE

T

here are many people in many cultures, music is an important part of their way of life and now music began to emerge in its significant form because of its fragmented approach to storytelling. An extreme statement of the position has been articulated by the Italian composer Luciano Berio “Music is everything that one listens to with the intention of listening to music

There are different kinds and era of music the Middle Ages, the Baroque, Classicism, Romanticism and the 20th- and 21st-century music.A good singer will have to think of a lot of different things in a performance. Good vocal technique, a large vocal range, as well as feeling the song through emotional language and breathing, and also acting to provide a song with meaning just like Emmlie doing her job. With EMAL magazine she shared her views for different aspects. What was it that got you into music in the first place? My father he always wanted to share his love and passion of music with me and I really took to it really early in my life, it's something I guess we bonded

85

over right till the end. What does the music give back to you as an individual? It gives back a sense of completion. I guess a lot of people write in a diary or do something in some way to release emotions privately like poetry or painting etc. for me its music, once the song is finished, I have let go of something inside which refreshes and reboot me. How does a job as a musician play itself out for you? It has its pros and cons but at the end of the day this is the job that i love unconditionally. It's like relationship haha music is my boyfriend!!! No but really I'm addicted to it, so good or bad it plays out well in the end. What do you wish to accomplish with your music? I try to be as honest as possible within my lyrics to me, as a listener there have been songs I have connected with that have made me feel better just knowing someone else out there is going through the same thing and I wasn't alone..I think if you are really honest you can reach the people out there that might be going

86

through the same as you and give a sense of comfort, all in all, always trying to send a positive message, every girl I wrote in 20 minutes, that's a women empowerment song. Where do you get the inspiration to make new music? Oh gosh. Everywhere!!! Like the other day I woke up with a tune in my head and reached over to my phone to record the melody. Who knows where that type of thing comes from!! But other times I just sit down and let it flow and see what is in my subconscious. You never know what might be lurking in there!! Ha-ha but day to day stuff inspires me, your phone ringing can be an inspiration. You have to find it. When you are not doing anything directly music related what do you like to do then? I like to watch movies. I'm a massive movie person but I also like to cook, hang with friends and be around my dogs,

87

all that good normal stuff, oh and work out too, though I don't actually like to do that, I force myself. When you feel, that you can make the best music? Surroundings, mood, time, really late at night, like 2am for some reason, but also when I am alone. I am not the type of musician that if a whole bunch of people are around, I can write well. I feel my best stuff comes when I am alone with my thoughts with no distractions. I like to go into the studio lyric and melody ready, knock it out and move onto the next one, for some reason the studio to me is not for writing so much. Do you have anything you

got to do, or any specific rituals you hold before you hold a concert or a gig? Yes I listen to hip hop! for some reason it calms me and gives me energy so i listen to kanye or something to take my mind off what I am about to do. What are your plans for the summer? Well its winter here...so our summer is not until December so my plans are to keep as warm as possible. What do you characterize as a good artist? Hard work, talent of course but originality, passion, things like that, I mean everyone is different..

88

What kind of music do you listen to on a daily basis? Everything!! and I am not lying, one minute I can be listening to taylor swift then the next erykah, badu then 2 chainz, whatever takes my mood!! But I also love older music like Roy Orbison and Sinatra. I clean my house to Sinatra at times. Do you have a song that means anything special to you?

vegetarian but i don't like it, my favourite type of food is Mexican probably. Do you have any tips for those who dream of a career in the music business?

Yes, be prepared to work your ass off!!! and no doesn't mean quit, no means keep going until you get a yes!! Don't quit! Keep going!!!

And if so. Why? Too many to mention in fact too many to even think of, this question just hurt my head. What kind of food do you prefer? Well i don't eat beef. I am not a
