id-ul-Azha marks the completion of the pilgrimage to Mecca by Muslims from multifarious nations of the world on the tenth day of the Islamic month Zul Haj. It is obligatory to bring the pilgrimage to a successful termination with the sacrifice of an animal. Like prayer and f a s t i n g , t h e performance of pilgrimage is a mode of worship seeking the spiritual, social and economic upliftment of Muslims.

The act of sacrifice is symbolic reminding the person who offers it that as the animal is inferior to him so he, also inferior to God and therefore be ready to sacrifice himself and all his personal interests and inclinations for the sake of God when he is required to do so. The attainment of righteousness should be the goal of every Muslim. icily is proving a truly bottomless well of inspiration for Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.Today was their umpteenth collection drawing on yet another facet of Sicilian culture, in this case the island's interaction with Greece in the ancient world. Sounds kind of academic, but it was not. Dolce and Gabbana are designers, after all, not history teachers. So when they used old photographs of ruined amphitheaters as prints, they had a pleasing graphic quality. Ionic columns reproduced as heels on shoes were a flash of wit. So were the gold coins that exploded into chunky prizefighter-like corset belts, especially when those belts gripped delicate dresses petaled with Sicily's almond blossom. That hard/soft contrast is a signature, the same way that a woman in a bustier and black lace slip (she's a stock character in the designers' repertoire, and she reappeared here) is anything but vulnerable with her go-on-I-dare-you

Giorgio Armani 31
"The press always needs a clear message ," Giorgio Armani announced at the conference for the Italian media that followed his show today. So that is what he gave them, with a muted presentation that was, for him at least, tightly edited down to two distinct stories. "A woman who's free to fly but can carry her own weight, gentle but gutsy" is how Armani defined the two faces of his collection. The gutsiness was summed by city suits: jackets and shorts or wrapped skirts. The freedom to fly came through in fabrics that started off sheer and steadily insinuated themselves in ever enveloping volumes, until a final outfit that was like a billowing highwayman's cape of silk. There are artists who rage as they age—like Picasso, for instance—but on the evidence of recent collections, Armani has adopted a much more serene attitude to the passage of time. The gentleness of the clothes today was enhanced by a palette of pale blues, grays, and pinks and delicate effects like streams of crystal tracing a watery trail across a chiffon top, or patterns that suggested faded watermarks, or blurry florals. It was distinctly

There's not much more you need to know about Raf Simons' show for Christian Dior today than that this was, according to his show notes, "Trans Dior." Of course, that is not strictly true. "Alice Garden" read one such slogan, and suddenly everything fell into place:The setting for the show, a psychedelic farrago of plant life real and fake, was the wonderland into which Alice fell. In one technique, long troughs of U-shaped mirrors focus sunlight on a pipe of oil that runs through the middle. The hot oil then boils water for electricity generation. Another technique uses moveable mirrors to focus the sun's rays on a collector tower, where a receiver sits. Molten salt flowing through the receiver is heated to run a g e n e r a t o r. Other solar technologies are passive. For example, big windows placed on the sunny side of a building allow sunlight to heat-absorbent materials

Solar energy is lauded as an inexhaustible fuel source that is pollution and often noise free. The technology is also versatile. For example, solar cells generate energy for far-out places like satellites in Earth orbit and cabins deep in the Rocky Mountains as easily as they can power downtown buildings and
futuristic cars. But solar energy doesn't work at night without a storage device such as a batter y, and cloudy weather can make the technology unreliable during the day. Solar technologies are also ver y expensive and require a lot of land area to collect the sun's energy at rates useful to lots of people.
Despite the drawbacks, solar energy use has surged at about 20 percent a year over the past 15 years, thanks to rapidly falling prices and gains in efficiency. Japan, Germany, and the United States are major markets for solar cells. With tax incentives, solar electricity can often pay for itself in five to ten years.

While talking to EMAL Magazine he explore his inner thoughts. How do you balance your work and personal life? I am always hearing complaints from my high achieving friends about their struggles with balancing their lives. Trying to juggle home, work, friends, achievement, personal downtime, etc. can definitely take its toll and make you feel pulled in all sorts of directions. It doesn't have to be this way. The very concept of achieving balance is a big part of the problem. The idea of balance means that all of our activities must get equivalent time and attention to be perfect. Life is just not that way and you really don't want it to be.You want to do the things that give you the most gratification and reward and you want to stop doing the things that drain you and make you feel bad. Balancing these will force you to give equal time to all activity regardless of reason..
51
What techniques do you use in crisis intervention? No one crisis intervention method will work with all clients, or even all the time with any one client. There are many different family structures, compositions, and culturally related belief systems. The eclectic crisis worker tries to understand and respect these diversities in families. What are your opinions on the current welfare system? In some places welfare system is unfair to everyone, to taxpayers who must pick up the bill for failed programs, to society, whose mediating institutions of community and family are increasingly pushed aside, and most of all to the poor themselves, who are trapped in a system that destroys opportunity for themselves and hope for their children. We should change the entire social welfare system. This includes eliminating food stamps, subsidized housing, and all the rest. Individuals

who are unable to fully support themselves and their families through the job market must, once again, learn to rely on supportive family, church, community, or private charity to bridge the gap.

TORE OPDAL HANSEN MAYOR OF DRAMMEN I'm pleased you have chosen Drammen as your new home and I'm confident that you will contribute to the development of Norway is a very long and narrow country situated at the northern tip of Europe. It extends 1 770 km/1 100 miles from south to north, a distance equal to that from Oslo to Rome or from New York to Miami, crossing the Polar Circle at about 2/3 of the length. Its ragged coastline measures 19 950 km/12 400 miles and once upon a time inspired the Vikings to name the country Norway, i.e. the way to the North.
During the last decades, however, Norway has made itself visible to the rest of the world through its innovative ideas and technologies, its booming oil industry a n d a c t i v e participation in areas such as environmental protection and energy management. Today cultural life in Norway finds expression in a variety of different fields such as the theatre, films, music, painting, arts and crafts, folk dancing and literature.

DRAMMEN One of the larger city of Norway. In 2008 Drammen won the prestigious prize for the best city development in Europe Norway's waterfront capital Oslo is buffered by heather-strewn islands and dense wedges of tranquil woodlands. The splintered shards that form the listening Oslo Opera House showcase the city's cosmopolitan character. Brightly coloured wood-panel houses flank Bergen's bustling harbour; its cluster of museums and galleries distinguish it as Norway's cultural capital. The northern city of Tromso is enveloped by snowcapped mountains and birch trees. Shrouded
in perpetual darkness in winter, it dazzles defiantly under the ethereal shimmer of the Northern Lights. Drammen which is one of the larger city of Norway, and lies about 40 kilometres (25 mi) from the capital of Norway, Oslo. and provides opportunity for all its residents. Once again, thank you for choosing Drammen.... EMAL magazine took the interview of this glorious and versatile personality. Drammen has had an amazing d eve l o p m e n t i n recent years with you as mayor, how would you describe Drammen now? Drammen has developed from being a city with a very bad reputation, to be named the city with the best development. I have been involved in the development of Drammen for 10 years as mayor and 34 years as a local politician. So for me it has been an
incredible journey to see the development of this city. To develop a city like Drammen, it is needed major projects, over time, hard work and it is then you will see the results. Drammen has developed from a city w i t h s m a l l investments, to a city where wealthy people want to do business. Drammen is a colourful city with people from different ethnic backgrounds, how do you as the Mayor
try to be visible among these people? It is important for me to be the mayor for each and every citizen of Drammen as 25 % of the population in Drammen is from another ethical background then Norway. I a lw ay s t r y t o participate in different arrangements, organized by these people, and always aim for my future plans, for the city, for the whole

population, where these 25 % is an important part of. As mayor, what projects have helped you to get through to develop multi-cultural Drammen? N o r w ay a n d Drammen are new when it comes to having to deal with foreigners. The most important thing I have tried to communicate to the people of Drammen that you can be a citizen of Drammen on many different ways. Independent of your religion, culture and colour, my main focus has to work for inclusion.
quota of immigrants in public jobs in Drammen. I have also put on big efforts to develop FJELL in Drammen, where over 70 % of the people h av e a d i f f e r e n t ethnical background then Norway. My main goal for this area is to reduce the percentage of poverty and develop the area to the same level as the rest of Drammen. You recently met the former prime minister of Pakistan, Youssef Raza Gilani, how Some of the specific was the meeting? things that I have done I have, had visit from is to increase the many different famous Pakistani in the past,

like Aitzaz Ahsen, former president and now Mr. Gilani. This was a very casual meeting where we had dinner and I showed him Drammen city. The prime minister appreciated the visit and thanked the hosts. Why did you choose to become a politician? I have always had a burning interest for the society and people. I started as a local politician, for me politics was an interest. I enjoy the variation in the work and to feel that I am doing something for the people.
What do you feel is the most important thing as politician? As a politician you always have to work 100 % to deliver. You have to show a credible face to your voters, and always see the long term effect of your decisions. I feel that me and my party have delivered to the people of Drammen, that is why we in the last election got 50% of the voter's vote.
