ACCTS Prayer Reminder July 2010

“Are not our prayers so often ineffective and powerless – and sometimes even prayerless – because we rush unthinkingly and unpreparedly into God’s presence, without realizing the majesty and glory of the God Whom we are approaching, and without reflecting upon the exceeding great riches of His glory in Christ Jesus, which we hope to draw upon?” -- Author unknown, The Kneeling Christian, circa 1930

Note: ACCTS is privileged to partner with AMCF (Association of Military Christian Fellowships) in ministry around the globe. This month, please pray for AMCF’s president and vice presidents, whose names are in bold print.

1 Today is Canada Day, sometimes referred to as “Canada’s birthday.” Please remember the MCF of Canada and its members in your prayers. Pray that all of its prayer groups, including a new group in Valcartier, will bring the Lord’s presence to those places. 2 The leader of Angola’s military Christian fel-

lowship is working to get biblical literature to Angola’s armed forces. He has had positive responses from military leaders. Pray for strategies and wisdom for those who will distribute the literature. Air Cdre (Ret.) Ishaku Komo

3 Tomorrow is the USA’s Independence Day. Today, please pray that members of the USA’s Christian Military Fellowship will be guided by the Holy Spirit to share Christ with their coworkers in loving ways. 4 The following prayer was adopted by AMCF in 1930 with the suggestion that it be prayed each Sunday: “Heavenly Father, we thank you that the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses from all sin. Bless the service men and women of all nations, and grant that we who know the joy of being ‘all one in Christ Jesus’ may be filled with your love and pass it on to others through the power of the Holy Spirit until His coming again.” 5 Praise God that the Haitian military Christian

fellowship was relaunched in May. There are approximately 28 all-ranks Christians participating. Pray that this group of men and women will be an encouragement to others, especially those still facing problems due to the earthquake.

6 Thailand has recently experienced severe political problems; pray that its leaders will unify their country and bring it back from what was nearly civil war. Pray in particular for military ACCTS Prayer reminder July 2010

9 Pakistan faces several challenges in its fight against terror, including non-governmental people being trained by paramilitary extremist movements. There are a very small number of military Christians in Pakistan – please pray that God will guide them and keep them safe as they serve their nation. General (Ret.) Srilal Weerasooriya 10 In Japan, today is the Feast of Lanterns – a Buddhist custom which honors the deceased spirits of one’s ancestors. Pray that military Christians in Japan will continue faithfully serving God while also serving their country and coworkers. 11 Pray for a return to peace and for a strong

and fair government to be formed in Kyrgyzstan. Pray that corruption would be routed out and human rights would be restored to the people.
