Il nome Tudor è stato depositato nel 1926 dalla fabbrica orologiera “Veuve de Philippe Hüther”. Nel 1936 Hans Wilsdorf rileva il marchio e il 6 marzo 1946, a Ginevra, fonda la società “Montres Tudor SA”. La grande idea di Hans Wilsdorf è stata quella di creare orologi con la riconosciuta qualità Rolex ad un prezzo più accessibile per acquisire una fascia di mercato più ampia. Inizialmente il logo sul quadrante era formato solo dal nome, nel 1936 è utilizzata la Rosa della dinastia Tudor* all’interno di uno scudo che simboleggia l’unione di forza ed eleganza. Dopo la metà degli anni ‘40 lo Scudo sparisce e rimane solo la Rosa. Alla fine degli anni ’60 il logo è definitivamente modificato, la Rosa è sostituita con lo Scudo che rappresenta meglio il messaggio di robustezza ed affidabilità che Tudor ha deciso di trasmettere per i suoi orologi. Nel 1952 Tudor sponsorizza la Greenland Polar Expedition, da questo momento le campagne pubblicitarie si concentreranno sulla possibilità di usare l’orologio Tudor anche durante sport e lavori molto logoranti per i segna tempo. L’ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo è sempre stato il punto d’arrivo nella produzione Tudor, questo gli ha permesso di essere conosciuto ed apprezzato in tutto il mondo. La stretta relazione con Rolex è stata un’ottima presentazione ma il facile paragone ha fatto allontanare i clienti dai palati più fini che hanno visto Tudor come una copia autorizzata, per altri invece solo l’opportunità di avere la qualità Rolex ad un prezzo più contenuto. Personalmente ho sempre apprezzato lo sforzo che Tudor ha fatto per offrire ogni volta un prodotto competitivo e tutte le sfide affontate mettendo in produzione orologi dalla sconosciuta popolarità come lo svegliarino Advisor, i Submariner con la cassa ridotta, i Day+Date con la cassa da 38mm e quadranti “coraggiosi” come il “Montecarlo” e lo “Snowflake”. Anche i più puristi del settore non possono che apprezzare chi regala emozioni senza ostentare una discutibile classe d’appartenenza. Dal 2006 Tudor ha iniziato produzioni non più riconducibili al mondo Rolex, la sua strada adesso è fatta di novità e qualità ma questo Voi già lo sapete. * La dinastia Tudor regna in Inghilterra dal 1485 al 1603. Lo stemma araldico dei Tudor, una rosa bianca e rossa, nasce dalla “Guerra delle due rose”, una lotta dinastica combattuta in Inghilterra tra i Lancaster e gli York, con i rispettivi stemmi araldici formati da una rosa bianca (Lancaster) e una rossa (York). La battaglia fu vinta dai Lancaster grazie ad Enrico VII d’Inghilterra, figlio di Edmondo Tudor e membro da parte di madre del Casato dei Lancaster. Enrico VII sposò Elisabetta di York unendo le due famiglie rivali sotto un’unica Casata quella Tudor. Le due rose unite hanno dato vita alla rosa dei Tudor.

The name Tudor was registered by the watchmaking company “Veuve de Philippe Hüther” in 1926. In 1936, Hans Wilsdorf takes the trade mark over himself, and founds the company “Montres Tudor SA” on March 6, 1946 in Geneva. Hans Wilsdorf’s great idea was to create watches with the world-renowned Rolex quality at a more accessible price, in order to gain a larger market share. At the beginning, the logo on the dial was simply the name; in 1936, Tudor uses the Rose of the Tudor dynasty inside a shield, which symbolizes the union between strength and elegance. After the mid 40’s, the Shield disappears and only the Rose remains. At the end of the 60’s, the logo is definitively modified; the Rose is replaced with the Shield which better represents ruggedness and reliability, the concepts which Tudor wishes to convey for its watches. Tudor sponsors the Greenland Polar Expedition in 1952 and, henceforth, the advertising campaigns focus on the possibility of using Tudor watches even during sport events and other strenuous activities which could wear out timepieces. The excellent price/quality ratio has always been the target of the Tudor production, and this has allowed it to be well-known and appreciated worldwide. The tight relationship with Rolex offered a very good introduction; the easy comparison, however, distanced customers with the most discriminating taste, which saw Tudor as an authorized copy, while others viewed it as an opportunity to have the quality of Rolex at a more moderate price. Personally, I have always appreciated the effort that Tudor has made in offering an always competitive product as well as all the hurdles it had to overcome by producing watches unknown to the public, such as the Advisor alarm watch, the Submariner watches with reduced case, the Day+Date models with 38mm case and “courageous” dials such as the “Montecarlo” and the “Snowflake”. Even the purists in the sector can’t help but admire a brand which gives emotions without crass ostentatious and pomp. In 2006, Tudor started productions that were no longer linked to the Rolex world; the way is now paved by innovation and quality, but this you know already. The Tudor dynasty ruled England from 1485 to 1603. The heraldic symbol of the Tudor, a red and white rose, comes from the “War of the Roses”, a dynastic war fought in England between the Lancasters and the Yorks, whose emblems were represented respectively, by a white rose (Lancaster) and a red rose (York). The battle was won by the Lancasters thanks to Henry VII of England, Edmund Tudor’s son and member of the House of Lancaster on his mother’s side. Henry II married Elisabeth of York, thus uniting the two rival families under the House of Tudor. The two united roses formed the Tudor rose.

The dial and bezel, which are exposed to sunlight for a long time, often change their original color, assuming lighter tones which can turn gray or brown, like in this case.

Alla fine degli anni ’50 il “coroncione” esce di produzione, gli ultimi esemplari si differenziano dai primi per il fondello dove compare la corona Rolex e per il movimento che da dorato diventa cromato. At the end of the 1950’s, the “coroncione” model is discontinued; the last examples differ from the first ones by the case back, on which the Rolex coronet appears, and by the movement, which changes from gold to chrome.

Tudor continua la produzione del Submariner con la particolare attenzione al materiale luminescente utilizzato. Per indicare l’assenza di materiale luminescente a base di radio su indici e lancette, alcuni quadranti adottano una piccola linea orizzontale stampata sopra l’indice ad ore 6 chiamata dai collezionisti “underline”. Nel 1963 la grafica del quadrante cambia colore, da dorata ad argentata. La minuteria chiusa dorata sarà utilizzata fino al 1966. Le lancette in ottone cambiano colore con la cromatura. Questo è l’ultimo anno che la cassa è prodotta con le spallette proteggi corona a punta. Tudor continues producing the Submariner watches paying special attention to the luminous material used. To indicate the absence of radium-based luminous paint on indexes and hands, some dials feature a small horizontal line printed over the index at 6 o’clock, called “underline” by collectors. The graphics on the dial change color in 1963, from gold to silver. The gilt closed minute track will be used until 1966. The hands switch color, from gold to chrome. This is the last year in which the case is produced with pointed crown guards.

Rolex nel 1968 mette in commercio il Submariner con il datario (ref.1680), Tudor propone il 7021/0. Il quadrante, modello “Snowflake”, di colore nero oppure blu, ha il datario ad ore 3. Il disco data è di tipo “roulette”, con numeri pari rossi e dispari neri. Il movimento meccanico a carica automatica è un Eta calibro 2484 che differisce dal 2483 per la presenza del datario. In 1968, Rolex puts the Submariner watch with date (ref. 1680) on the market, Tudor presents the reference 7021/0. The dial, which can be either black or blue, is the “Snowflake” model with date at 3 o’clock. The date wheel is “roulette” style, alternating red even numbers and black odd numbers. The mechanical self-winding movement is the Eta caliber 2484, which differs from the 2483 caliber by the presence of the date.

Il Tudor Submariner dal 1974 al 1985 è stato l’orologio ufficiale dalla Marina Militare Francese “Marine Nationale”. Le sue doti di robustezza e impermeabilità rispondono perfettamente alle richieste militari impegnate con l’elemento acquatico. Gli esemplari utilizzati sono riconoscibili dal fondello inciso con le iniziali ”M.N.” e con le ultime due cifre dell’anno d’assegnazione. Alcuni sono accompagnati dal “decommission paper” il foglio che attesta la dismissione e la vendita di un oggetto militare. The Tudor Submariner was the official watch of the French Navy “Marine Nationale” from 1974 to 1985. Its qualities of robustness and waterproofing perfectly meet the needs of the Navy, which generally operates in water environments. The watches used can be recognized by the case back engraved with “M.N.” initials as well as the last two digits of the issue year. Some examples are accompanied by the “decommission paper”, which is the document attesting that a military object has been retired and sold.

OYSTERDATE CHRONOGRAPH 7031/0 Nel 1970 Tudor mette in commercio il suo primo cronografo. La cassa in acciaio ha un diametro di 40mm e uno spessore di 14mm. Le anse sono satinate con il bisello lucido. La corona di carica, con doppia guarnizione “Twinlock”, ha un diametro di 7mm ed è protetta da grandi spallette squadrate. I pulsanti a vite sono modello “millerighe”. Il quadrante, chiamato Montecarlo, ha la grafica tipica degli anni ’70. Gli indici, di forma pentagonale, sono trattati al trizio, i due contatori ospitano ad ore 9 i secondi continui, ad ore 3 i minuti cronografici. Lo scudo, logo della Tudor, è applicato in acciaio. Le lancette modello “gladio” sono utilizzate esclusivamente su questo modello. La lunetta con inserto in bachelite riproduce la scala tachimetrica in chilometri orari. Il movimento a carica manuale è un Valjoux 7734 con 18.000 alternanze e smistamento cronografico a navette. Il datario ad ore 6 viene ingrandito grazie alla lente magnificatrice applicata sul vetro in esalite. Il bracciale utilizzato è un Rolex Oyster a maglie ripiegate referenza 7836. Tudor puts its first chronograph on the market in 1970. The stainless steel case measures 40mm in diameter and 14mm in thickness. Lugs are satin finished and have polished and bevelled edges. The winding crown, with double seal “Twinlock”, has a 7mm diameter and is protected by large squared shoulders. The screw-down pushers have a “milled” design. The dial called Montecarlo has the typical graphic design of the 1970’s. Indexes have a pentagonal shape and are tritium coated, the two registers display constant seconds at 9 o’clock and chronograph minutes at 3 o’clock. The shield, which is the Tudor logo, is applied in steel. The “sword” style hands are fitted to this model only. The bezel with bakelite insert bears the tachometer scale in km/h. The manual winding movement is Valjoux 7734, cam switched, with 18,000 beats/hour. The date at 6 o’clock is enlarged by a magnifying lens inserted in the hesalite crystal. This watch is accompanied by a Rolex Oyster bracelet with folding links reference 7836.

Dopo due anni dalla nascita del primo modello, Tudor aggiorna i cronografi con tre nuove referenze. Il quadrante con il colore di base grigio è abbinato, oltre al nero, al blu utilizzato come sfondo dei contatori, minuteria e della lunetta in bachelite. Gli indici sono di forma rettangolare con binario nero e trizio centrale. Le lancette a bastone riprendono graficamente gli indici, quelle dei contatori sono bianche con base cromata. La cassa esteticamente inalterata ospita il nuovo movimento Valjoux calibro 234 con smistamento della cronografia tramite ruota a colonna, modificato per il datario ad ore 6 e per il contatore ad ore 3 con base 45 minuti. La corona di carica con chiusura a vite può contare sul nuovo sistema a tre a guarnizioni “Triplock” (dopo il 1974), i pulsanti di nuova concezione hanno una zigrinatura più accentuata per un migliore utilizzo. Two years after the birth of the first model, Tudor updates its chronographs with three new references. The dial with gray background is combined either with black or blue color used for the register background, minute markers and bakelite bezel. Indexes are rectangular, baton style, with black borders and tritium in the center. The steel hour/ minute hands are baton style too; the chronograph functions are represented by the orange seconds hand and register hands, made in steel with white enamel. The case, which is aesthetically unaltered, houses a new Valjoux movement caliber 234 with column wheel, modified for the date at 6 o’clock and the 45-minute register at 3 o’clock. The screwdown winding crown is equipped with the new triple-seal “Triplock” (since 1974) system; the new design pushers have a more pronounced knurl for an improved grip.

Alla fine degli anni ’80 tutti i cronografi Tudor cambiano referenza e il seriale inizia a diventare alfanumerico. I quadranti “Montecarlo” non sono più prodotti e rimangono le colorazioni classiche con una ulteriore variante, bianco contatori argento. Sul quadrante cambia gradualmente la forma degli indici e la grafica. La cassa non subisce modifiche. La referenza 79160 è abbinata al modello con lunetta nera in materiale plastico. All Tudor chronographs change the reference at the end of the 1980’s and the serial number becomes alphanumeric. The “Montecarlo” dials are no longer produced and classic colors remain with one further variant: white with silver registers. The dial gradually changes the index shape and print. The case is not modified. The reference 79160 matches with the model with black plastic bezel.

Nelle prime versioni i quadranti hanno gli indici applicati trapezoidali e la scritta ad ore 6 “T SWISS T”; in seguito gli indici sono sostituiti con quelli parallelepipoidali e la scritta ad ore 6 cambia in “T SWISS MADE T”. Il datario perde la cornice, le scritte sono più marcate e i numeri meno schiacciati. In the first versions, dials have trapezoidal indexes applied and the writing “T SWISS T” at 6 o’clock; later the indexes are replaced with the parallelepiped shaped ones and the writing at 6 o’clock changes to “T SWISS MADE T”. The date is no longer surrounded by the frame, the writing is more marked and numerals are less flat.

British North Greenland Expedition La British North Greenland Expedition inizia nel 1952 e termina nel 1954. La spedizione sui ghiacci della Groenlandia, ha come scopo diversi studi: geologici, meteorologici, fisiologici e glaciologici. La spedizione avviene con la cooperazione delle Forze Armate Britanniche, della Compagnia Petrolifera “Shell” e di scienziati civili. Le Forze Armate provvedono ai trasporti, equipaggiamenti e forniscono la maggior parte dei membri della spedizione. Il finanziamento è stanziato dalla “Shell” e da un contributo personale del Vice Patrono Winston Churchill (il Patrono è la Regina Elisabetta). L’equipaggio, prevalentemente militare, è composto da trenta persone con a capo il Comandante James Simpson. Ogni membro della spedizione indossa un Tudor Oyster Prince, l’orologio che Hans Wilsdorf ha scelto per sponsorizzare la missione. The British North Greenland Expedition starts in 1952 and ends in 1954. The aim of expedition on the Greenland icecap includes different fields of research: geological, meteorological, physiological and glaciological. The expedition takes place in collaboration with the British Armed Forces, the “Shell” Oil Company and civil scientists. The Armed forces arrange for transport, supply equipment and most expedition members. Funding is provided by “Shell” and a personal contribution from the Vice-Patron Winston Churchill (Queen Elizabeth is the Patron). The crew, mainly military, consists of thirty people led by Commander James Simpson. Every member of the expedition wears a Tudor Oyster Prince on his wrist, the watch which Hans Wilsdorf chose to sponsor the mission.

Il Tudor Ranger nasce alla fine degli anni ’60. Sono 3 le varianti prodotte: “PRINCE OYSTERDATE” con movimento automatico e datario, “OYSTER PRINCE” automatico senza datario e “OYSTER” carica manuale senza datario. La cassa, per tutte le varianti, è in acciaio, il diametro misura 34mm. Il quadrante nero opaco ha gli indici ad ore 3-6-9 con numeri arabi luminescenti a base di trizio. La grafica è di colore bianco. Questo modello è uno dei più falsificati. In circolazione si possono trovare svariati quadranti contraffatti. Dai cataloghi ufficiali si evince che il logo sul quadrante è solo lo Scudo e mai la Rosa. La tesi più approvata per la scritta “Ranger” è che sia di colore bianco, nonostante sia proposta spesso nel colore rosso. I “Ranger” condividono la referenza con modelli dal quadrante “classico”, questo crea ulteriori opportunità ad assemblaggi e ristampe. L’esigua produzione termina alla fine degli anni ’80. The Tudor Ranger model is created at the end of the 1960’s. Three variants are produced: “PRINCE OYSTERDATE”, with selfwinding movement and date, “OYSTER PRINCE”, self-winding without date and “OYSTER”, with manual winding without date. The case, for all three versions, is in stainless steel and measures 34mm in diameter. The matt black dial has tritium-coated luminous indexes, with Arabic numerals at 3-6-9 o’clock. The graphics are white. This is one of the most counterfeited models. Various counterfeited dials can be found around. As illustrated in the official catalogues, the logo on the dial is only the Shield and never the Rose. According to the most accepted thesis, the writing “Ranger” is in white color, despite appearing often in red. The “Ranger” watches share the reference with models fitted with the “classic” dial, thus creating additional ways of assembly and reprinting. The limited production is discontinued at the end of the 1980’s.

Tudor rinnova lo svegliarino. La cassa ha le anse squadrate, il diametro resta di 34mm. Per aumentare la cassa di risonanza della sveglia, il fondello è chiuso tramite un anello filettato. Il quadrante prodotto nei colori argento e nero, ha gli indici applicati, il logo con la rosa è sostituito dallo scudo applicato in acciaio. Le lancette sono sostituite con quelle a bastone. Il movimento viene aggiornato con il calibro 3475. Il bracciale in acciaio è modello Oyster a maglie ripiegate. Resterà in produzione fino al 1977. Tudor renews the alarm watch. The case has squared lugs and keeps the diameter of 34mm. To enhance the resonance chamber of the alarm sound, the case back is secured by a threaded ring. Produced in silver or black color, the dial has applied indexes and the rose logo is replaced with the shield applied in steel. The hands change and are now baton style. The movement is updated with the caliber 3475. The stainless steel bracelet is an Oyster with folding links. It will remain in production until 1977.

L’Iconaut è il primo ed unico cronografo Tudor con funzione Gmt (Greenwich Mean Time). La cassa in acciaio lucido ha un diametro di 43mm, sulla lunetta satinata sono incise le 24 ore. Il quadrante adotta per i contatori una grafica mista, intorno alla minuteria si trova la scala tachimetrica che abbinata al cronografo permette il calcolo della velocità oraria. Gli indici e il logo Tudor sono applicati. Il movimento meccanico a carica automatica derivato dal calibro Valjoux 7750, ha 46 ore di autonomia massima. Il vetro zaffiro e la corona a vite Triplock garantiscono l’impermeabilità fino a 150 metri. Distribuito con bracciale in acciaio oppure con cinturino in gomma. La produzione termina nel 2012. The Iconaut is the first and only Tudor chronograph with Gmt (Greenwich Mean Time) function. The polished stainless steel case measures 43mm in diameter and the satin finished bezel has engraved 24-hours. The dial features mixed design graphics registers; around the minute divisions there is a tachometer scale which, combined with the chronograph, allows for speed calculation. Both the indexes and Tudor logo are applied. The mechanical self-winding movement, based on the caliber Valjoux 7750, has a maximum power reserve of 46 hours. The sapphire crystal and screw-down Triplock winding crown guarantee waterproofness up to 150 meters. It is supplied either with stainless steel bracelet or with rubber strap. This timepiece is discontinued in 2012.

Tudor Grantour è una collezione che contiene tre modelli, un cronografo con funzione Fly-Back, un cronografo tre contatori e un solo tempo con datario. Sono tutti orologi sportivi con una speciale vocazione per i motori, in particolare Porsche Motorsport e Ducati, “Timing Partner” degli orologi Tudor. Il Fly- Back ha una cassa in acciaio con diametro di 42mm e lunetta graduata laccata nera. La funzione cronografica “ritorno in volo” offre la possibilità di fare ripartire il cronografo senza perdere tempo a fermarlo ed azzerarlo. Il quadrante ha due contatori, ad ore 3 i secondi continui e al 9 i minuti cronografici. Il contatore ad ore 9 si allunga graficamente fino al centro del quadrante creando la classica forma della cinghia di trasmissione di un motore. Ad ore 6 il datario può essere regolato grazie ad un correttore che si trova sotto l’orologio. Oltre al vetro zaffiro e la corona a vite, per garantire l’impermeabilità fino a 150 metri, i pulsanti possono essere bloccati con una piccola rotazione in senso orario. Il Fly-back è commercializato in acciaio o in acciaio e oro rosa 18kt, con bracciale oppure con cinturino in pelle con chiusura pieghevole. The Tudor Grantour is a collection including three models: a chronograph with Fly-Back function, a chronograph with three registers and a time-only watch with date. All of them are sport watches especially devoted to motorsports, in particular Porsche Motorsport and Ducati, “Timing Partner” of the Tudor watches. The Fly-Back has a stainless steel case measuring 42mm in diameter and a black lacquered graduated bezel. The “Fly-Back” chronograph function allows for instant restarting of the chronograph without the need to stop and then reset it to zero. The dial bears two registers: the constant seconds at 3 o’clock and the chronograph minutes at 9 o’clock. The register at 9 o’clock elongates graphically up to the dial center creating a motif which is reminiscent of the automobile transmission belt. At 6 o’clock the date can be set by a corrector located under the watch. Beyond the sapphire crystal and the screw-down crown, the pushers can be locked by rotating one eighth of a turn, guaranteeing waterproofing to 150 meters. The Fly-back is available either in steel or in steel and 18k pink gold, with bracelet or leather strap with folding clasp.

Con il termine “Heritage” Tudor concretizza il suo interesse per il passato e propone attualizzati gli orologi che hanno dato lustro e carattere al marchio. Il primo della collezione, un cronografo, si sviluppa sulla base della referenza 7033 nata negli anni ’70. La cassa in acciaio ha un diametro di 42mm. La ghiera girevole in acciaio è bi-direzionale con scala graduata. Il quadrante è molto fedele alla vecchia produzione “Montecarlo”. Gli indici a pentagono, i contatori cronografici rotondi su base trapezoidale a contrasto sono tipici degli anni ’70. Come il modello vintage ha il datario ad ore 6. Il movimento è un cronografo modulare, base tempo Eta 2892 con modulo cronografico Dubois-Depraz, funzione FlyBack ed autonomia di 42 ore. With the word “Heritage”, Tudor solidifies its interest for the past and introduces the watches, which glamorized and gave character to the brand, now redesigned. The first timepiece of the collection, a chronograph, is developed on the base of the reference 7033 created in the 1970’s. The stainless steel case measures 42mm in diameter. The stainless steel bezel with graduations is bidirectional rotatable. The dial is faithful to the older production of “Montecarlo”. The pentagonal-shaped indexes and round chronograph registers on a contrasting trapezoidal background are typical of the 1970’s. As with the vintage model, it has the date at 6 o’clock. The movement is a modular chronograph, an Eta 2892 base movement with the Dubois Dèpraz chronograph module, the FlyBack function and a 42 hour power reserve.

Tudor aggiunge un elemento alla collezione Heritage, il Black Bay. Molti particolari ricordano gli orologi subacquei più famosi che Tudor ha iniziato a produrre dalla metà degli anni ’50. La cassa in acciaio ha il diametro di 41mm, le anse sono satinate con bisello cromato. La corona, di grandi dimensioni e senza spallette, ha il vecchio logo inciso. La ghiera unidirezionale con l’inserto bordeaux rievoca i viraggi di colore più belli che avvengono sulle vecchie lunette. Il vetro zaffiro con il gradino ricrea l’effetto tipico del vetro plastica. Il quadrante nero lievemente bombato ha la grafica in oro rosa con minuteria chiusa e il vecchio logo a rosa. Gli indici a grafica mista sono di grandi dimensioni e posizionati all’interno di bicchierini in metallo rosato. Le lancette “snowflake” dorate rosa completano il viaggio nel passato. Il Black Bay, garantito fino alla profondità di 200 metri, è proposto con bracciale in acciaio oppure con cinturino in cuoio invecchiato, con entrambi in dotazione c’è un cinturino in materiale tecnico. Tudor widens the Heritage collection with a new element, the Black Bay. Lots of details are reminiscent of the most famous diver’s watches that Tudor began producing in the mid 50’s. It has a stainless steel case measuring 41mm in diameter, and lugs are satin finished with bevelled chrome edges. The winding crown, large and without shoulders, bears the old logo engraving. The unidirectional bezel with the burgundy insert reminds us of the most beautiful color changes which occur in old bezels. The sapphire crystal with the step recreates the typical effect of the plexi glass. The black slightly domed dial has pink gold print, a closed minute track and the old rose logo. The mixed design hour markers are larger and surrounded by pink gold. The “snowflake” pink gold hands complete the journey into the past. The Black Bay, guaranteed waterproof to a depth of 200 meters, comes with either a stainless steel bracelet or an aged leather strap, both supplied with a strap in high-tech fabric.

La collezione Heritage riprende e attualizza gli orologi che hanno fatto la storia e il successo della Maison Tudor. Dopo 54 anni dal suo lancio Tudor ripropone lo svegliarino “Advisor”. La cassa, in titanio con lunetta in acciaio, ha un diametro di 42mm, ospita due corone e un pulsante. La corona ad ore 2 aziona e carica la suoneria, quella ad ore 4 si occupa di ore e minuti. Il pulsante ovale attiva e disattiva la suoneria. Il quadrante, proposto solo nel colore argento, fornisce diverse informazioni. Ad ore 3 oltre al datario c’è l’indicatore della riserva di carica della suoneria. Nella piccola finestra ad ore 9 possiamo controllare se la suoneria è ON oppure OFF, ad ore 6 il grande contatore indica la data. L’ora della suoneria è visualizzata grazie ad una lancetta rossa che si comanda con la corona posta ad ore 2. Le lancette modello Dauphine si rifanno a quelle usate nel primo modello del 1957. Il vetro zaffiro garantisce l’impermeabilità fino a 100 metri di profondità. L’orologio è proposto con cinturino in alligatore con chiusura pieghevole oppure con bracciale in acciaio. La confezione contiene un cinturino supplementare in materiale tecnico con fibbia personalizzata Tudor.

The Heritage collection draws on and updates the watches that made history and the success of the Maison Tudor. Tudor reintroduces the “Advisor” alarm watch, 54 years after its launch. The case, in titanium with steel bezel, measures 42mm in diameter and has two winding crowns and a pusher. The winding crown at 2 o’clock is used to adjust the alarm, the one at 4 o’clock is used for timesetting. The oval shaped pusher switches on and off the alarm function. The dial, available only in silver color, supplies a lot of information. At 3 o’clock position, we find not just the date but also the alarm power reserve indicator. In the small window at 9 o’clock we can check if the alarm is ON or OFF, while the date is indicated by the large counter at 6 o’clock position. The red hand displays the alarm time and is controlled by the winding crown at 2 o’clock. The Dauphine hands are the same as the ones in the first model of 1957. The crystal is sapphire and the watch is guaranteed waterproof to a depth of 100 meters. This timepiece is accompanied either by alligator strap with folding clasp or by stainless steel bracelet. The box also contains an additional hi-tech fabric strap with buckle personalized by Tudor.
