Pediatric Personal Health Record | Fall 2012
Empowering Future Generations of Patients RISD | Fall 2012 The movement towards patient maintained electronic health records is growing rapidly, but implementation is problematic due to a lack of follow-through . By targeting tech-friendly baby-boomers with a mobile application, Ped PHR presents a possible solution to a billion dollar national crisis and the opportunity to educate and empower future generations with knowledge about their own health. Key skills utilized: Need recognition, customer research, system development, user interface design.

I decided to focus on pediatric phrs targeting tech-friendly, baby-boomers with a digital application. By implementing a time line format for medical data entry, young parents will be more likely to continually update, and the ability to export the data to annual, physical books also creates a tangible representation of the gift of good health.

Design Focus: Safe, secure, friendly. The information should maintain a level of authority to reflect the gravity of the situation, but also create an experience that is reassuring to the patient.

Midpoint Testing At the midway point I decided to run a second series of interviews to get feedback on three major issues: 1. Intrinsic color value 2. Test hyperlinking theory 3. Gage mobile interest

Design Continuum | Summer 2013
Mobile Application After the midpoint interviews it was clear that mobile was beneficial, but editing capabilities were not paramount. It became clear that the application had but two purposes: 1. View your own hours 2. View the hours of others The main target for the application was group leads and those in managerial roles. Practitioners did not have the same sense of urgency and typically waited until in the office to view resourcing. Goal: Grant access to vital resourcing information in as few clicks as possible.

The Newsfeed Concept Inspired by the newsfeed concept popularized by Facebook, the application gives users instant access to the resourcing information they are looking upon entering. From this centralized dashboard, navigation can lead to deeper levels of information as is needed.
