GOVERNOR’S NOTE Hey KIWIN’S! Can you believe half of our term is already over? Throughout the past six months, our district has accomplished many feats and exceeded all of our expectations. Most recently, we hosted two phenomenal Fall Rallies with over 600 attendees and raised thousands of dollars for the Pediatric Trauma Program. Moving forward, I hope you continue your passion for service and KIWIN’S. Thank you for everything and I’ll catch you at Candidates Training Conference!

KEY CLUB INTERNATIONAL TRUSTEE’S NOTE Dear CNH KIWIN’S, As the district approaches mid-year reports, my sentiments from my time serving are as follows. I have not yet had the privilege of visiting the district in person. Thus far, my experience have been primarily over long-distance connections and calls. Yet, from the evident work ethic, the stamina, and will to serve the community, I know that this district is serving its members well. Like a large majority of the districts, CNH KIWIN’S faced challenges with membership retention when I began my term. Governor Emma Chang and I developed goals for the upcoming year to focus on increasing communication and awareness of the district board as well asinspiring its leaders to serve. From an international standpoint, numerous programs and projects were implemented to achieve these goals. A Sistrict Pals system was first to be initiated. CNH KIWIN’S district officers connected with officers from sister districts, Michigan and Nebraska-Iowa, to share in their experiences, challenges, and successes faced as a leader of Key Club. A Sistrict T-shirt fundraiser was held for Eliminate, a joint project of UNICEF and Kiwanis, initiated to protect mothers and babies from tetanus globally. Raising hundreds to financially support their philanthropic efforts is a small gift but a noteworthy one. Through these efforts, combined with regular email updates by myself, we have maintained an open flow of communication and increased transparency. The future of CNH KIWIN’S looks bright! A recent victory was exceeding the Fall Rally Convention attendance. The district board is dedicated to the work they do, understands the challenges, and are implementing creative goals and action steps to make a positive impact. I have full faith in the leadership and goals of the district to continue growing and making a difference. Yours in friendship and service, Hannah Povroznik International Trustee | CNH KIWIN’S, Michigan, Nebraska-Iowa
KEY CLUB INTERNATIONAL PRESIDENT’S NOTE Hello CNH KIWIN’S! This year, I have had the distinct honor to truly educate myself, with the help of Governor Emma, on your district’s customs and culture. The CNH KIWIN’S district is one of Key Club’s most valuable districts; your service to your community is making an impact on the international scale. Recently, the International Board had our November Board Meeting. There, we discussed the 2020 International Convention and new Strategic Plan, filmed the State of Key Club video, and reflected on our terms so far. We had a blast creating a stream of new content, and having fun while we were at it! At our next board meeting, we will be meeting in San Francisco to prepare for ICON 2020. Of the few new initiatives this year, the one I’m most proud of is — The President’s Project! With this initiative, we hope to emphasize the education and resources members gain in relation to the selected cause! Each President will select a year-long partner, campaign, or project that closely reflects the organization’s and members’ passions. I selected The Eliminate Project as my project; be on the lookout for content on how you can get involved! It is beyond me that this Key Club year is almost halfway over. That doesn’t mean you still can’t be energized, start new initiatives, or set new goals. I challenge each of you to try something new before you say goodbye to the year; whether that is through planning a new service project, volunteering for a foreign organization, or even encouraging your friends along. As I have learned from you, continue being the strong and dedicated leaders you are! Yours in Service, K’lena Schnack International President Key Club International Klena.Schnack@keyclub.org

Congratulations on such successful contributions, CNH KIWIN’S! Keep up the incredible work and passion! There are still six months left of this historic term so let’s make it count! Feel free to check out our website for more information about emphases and resources.
MEMBERSHIP GROWTH Our members are the core of our organization. Without you all, we would definitely not be where we are today. As such, we need your help to grow our district and get more members to pay their dues! There are so many benefits to being a dues paid member so let’s reach our goal!
WAYS TO INCREASE MEMBERSHIP 1. Host a membership drive. A membership drive is a simple and fun way to recruit members to join KIWIN’S at any time throughout the year! In short, the drive is a fun social or meeting that is open to everyone! Find some fun ways to bond with new and returning members and talk about what KIWIN’S is all about. 2. Invite your friends to join KIWIN’S! Although it may seem simple, the quickest and easiest way to gain new members for your club is to talk to your friends outside of KIWIN’S! Talk to them about all of the great opportunities and events that are held and invite them to your next general meeting! 3. Collaborate on a service project or fundraiser with another organization! Working with another student-led club is a great way to meet like minded individuals who share the same passion as you for service and leadership! You can collaborate with a completely new group of individuals, some of which who might join KIWIN’S after! Plus, you get to do service and/or raise money while doing it. What could be better?
Without a doubt, there has been a ton of new and exciting changes to our district, focusing on the most important thing within CNH KIWIN’S: our members! Here is a quick recap of everything we have done.

DISTRICT CONVENTION District Convention, aka DCON, is one of the biggest events of the term. At DCON, we retire all of our district officers, elect new Executive Officers, host workshops, make memories with the ENTIRE CNH KIWIN’S District (Northern and Southern California!), and celebrate the end of another fantastic year of service. This year, our DCON theme is Service Into the Sunset and do you know what that means? It is high time for all of our mighty fine members to come on up to San Ramon, California and come to the first ever CNH KIWIN’S rodeo! Convention chair Leta Bryan and the District Board are so excited to invite you to the 44th annual District Convention. Registration details and everything you need to know are available now on the website!
