CNH KIWIN’S KEY CLUB

DISTRICT PROJECTS what organizations do we serve?

MAJOR EMPHASIS LIVE2LEARN is a CNH Kiwanis service initiative dedicated to creating and improving the literacy skills of children around the world. Working with children ages 5-9, KIWIN’S clubs can conduct service projects to better the educational environments for children through volunteering at reading and school events.

MINOR EMPHASIS

Pediatric Trauma remains the leading cause of death and injury among children in the United States. The mission of our Pediatric Trauma Program (PTP) is to develop local projects which to reduce the number of children who are killed or injured by trauma, ensuring all children live happy, healthy and safe lives.

GOVERNOR’S PROJECT

Thirst Project is a nonprofit organization that works with the support of young people to END the global water crisis by building freshwater wells in developing communities that need safe, clean drinking water. Why? Waterborne diseases kill more children every single year than HIV, Malaria, and all world violence combined.

Hey KIWIN’S! Welcome to the CNH KIWIN’S Service Projects Manual! My name is Emma Chang and I humbly serve as your District Governor and Service Projects Committee Head for the 2019-2020 term. The committee has worked extremely hard to put together the following projects to help YOU better serve your homes, schools, and communities. Inside, you will find a variety of events with the required steps, materials, and conclusion needed to successfully coordinate each project. Key Club International and CNH KIWIN’S are built on the idea of service, because after all, we are a part of “the world’s largest student-led service organization.” Whether you are supporting local charities, your community, our Major or Minor Emphases, or our Governor’s Project, your service does make an impact and continues to do so each and every day. Each month, the committee will release a short issue of project ideas based on a monthly theme. The theme for the month of July is: Summer Service! Therefore, this month’s manual will be completely dedicated to providing you with new and innovative service projects that are simple, fun, and completely do-able! This term, I hope you will realize just how impactful service truly is. Here are some words of encouragement! Change is not a word. It’s an action. It is the smallest things that have the biggest impact. With that being said, thank you for taking the time to read this manual! Best of luck. With a passion to serve, Emma Chang CNH KIWIN’S District Governor Service Projects Committee Head kiwins.dgov@gmail.com
