The worlds’ full of wondrous places to explore. The highlighted red zone represents the countries that I’ve visited to date. Every country had its own culture, dialect and architecture. The combination of studying architecture and travelling has widened my visionary vocabulary by implementing what I see into my designs. My ambitions to proceed developing this chart and expand my vision through the world of architecture.

Bordesley House, was one of my first project at MBH. Having assisted the main architect in submitting the project for planning, it gave me the opportunity to have a better understanding of Stage 0-3. The client’s looking to extend the existing house, however they are uncertain on the final aesthetic of the house. I am currently working close up with the client to satisfy their demand to turn the house into a beautiful piece of art, as well as effectively functional.

BP OIL. Unfortunately, the planning application for the following project got declined due its location on site, as well as creating an unpleasant view for the locals. Due to the declined offer, BP asked us to generate some key visuals for different zones looking down in to the site. The idea was to emphasize the fact that the building blends in with the landscape and that it will be well covered by a lot of vegetation all around its boundary. Carrying out site analysis was key as it helped me select the most suitable materials for the constructions and camouflage of the building.

Additionally, in this project, I was recalled to create various options for one of their new sales buildings. The idea was to create a two-floor sales building which stands out from the ground floor and projects out to the motorway. It’s well evident that BP main colors green, which gave me the idea to reflect their colors out to the public, from a very far distance. I am excited to see what option the client’s going to choose in order to initiate the project.

“Whenever we talk of home,we talk of family, we talk of people but I never think of four walls and a roof. It means. Whenever we talk of home,we talk of love and safety and you can’t get it anywhere else but at home.”
Following the brief, my first instinct was to go back in time to my own roots and understand what home means to me and others close to myself. This exercise helped me to understand what a “home” is and what you’d expect from it. I carried out a few interviews and I started to understand what connects people to this secure place we called home.

The different phases of the project allowed me to develop a residential building for ex-military people who are displaced and no longer have a home to go to. Different from other residential buildings, the design of this hostel will permit them to re-arrange space at their own commodity. ‘Domum’ derives from the Latin language and it stands for home. A home should make you feel secure and comfortable. With the concept of the utilisation of hard and soft flexibility, this project will allow the residents to mix with the community but to also benefit of a private space which they can change to make their self-feel like they were at home

Diagrammatic conceptual models.
Utilising foam board, I experimented the shape and connectivity between the building that I have placed on the longitudinal site. The foam board allowed me to directly visualise the potential geometry of the building and the ability to be amended within the perimeter of the site. As evident, the images represent the steps that I took to achieve my final design. The diagram represents a sequence of Public and Private spaces of the design. Mixing the displaced one with the community features the main purpose of the programme. The circulation of Public and Private area emphasizes the ideology of flexibility.

Michrohime’s a sub-project taken ahead of Homemaking, to understand the house requirement. This Micro home was designed to focus on a small flexible place for someone to spend some time alone. It’s got an area of 8 sqm but has a very big potential as it’s flexible to be opened for guest to come along. The main component in this little house is a partition shelf which can be moved front and backward to create spaces for the tenant.
The loft will be able to create a cosy little space for the individual to sleep at night time and look outside the window. This Micro home it’s environmentally friendly as it not connected to the grid but uses solar powers and a composting toilet.
