Modern Matriarchy

Page 1

All around the world, women are changing and evolving to create a new narrative.

The desire for

more feminine energy seeped through on so many levels. Values like balance, collectivity, compassion,

tolerance, acceptance and empathy have become more

important within our previous dominant patriarchal

society. Values that are much needed to create a more sustainable earth and increase equality.

The Modern Matriarchy is not the opposite of a

Patriarchy. It is the middle road, it is the meeting point, it is the space in between. It is a society that is

based on a peaceful and balanced life, both in regard to gender, with respect to the generations, and which

demonstrates an ecologically appropriate way of dealing with all living beings.

Where a woman can choose her own values and

where the lines of feminine and masculine will mix effortlessly. It is a way of life that recognizes that we are part of Mother Earth and that what we do to the earth, we do to ourselves.

GOLDEN GIRLS

9 Men age like fine wine, Women age like milk. WAIT? what? GOLD you mean! Women over 50 are no longer invisible. As women grow older and still remaining healthier then ever, ageless living forms the standard. As fall presents its beautifull colours to nature, these golden girls shine like never before. As continuing advances in longevity make extended healthy lives a reality, ageless living will become the norm for all of us. Age - really - is just a number. Life begins at any age you decide life begins. These Golden Girls are stepping up and are defined by their confidence, strenght and authenticity. LIfe after 50 doesn’t mean disengaging from society, but stepping in and using the wisdom and experience you have gained. In a Modern Matriarchy, strong female leadership is the norm. It is a world where different generations are working together and where male and female values blended to construct a a brighter and sustainable future. They form a strong sisterhood and single women are finally released from the stigma of a sad spinster. The Golden Girl knows that ending up in a relationship isn’t the highest goal in life. She is independant, and centered on her family and/or friends and evolving her own creativity and personal development. She dates, she travels, she loves and enjoys being on her own. In later stages in life, these women will team up, and create communities to make sure they are ready for the final stage with grace.

INSTRUCTIONS First, prepare your beets. While they are steaming, blend together the frozen ingredients and the turmeric and ginger with a little bit of the coconut milk. Add in beets and remaining ingredients. Once it is all blended, transfer to bowl and add toppings. I highly recommend not skipping out on the passion fruit as a topping. It brings out the best in all of the other flavors and adds a fun twist on an otherwise earthly smoothie!

MODERN MATRIARCHY

NEW DIMENSIONS

In the Modern Matriarchy we are moving away from materialism and starting to live a more slow and conscious life. Here we focus on spirituality, personal growth and connection. Femininity has greatly influenced these new dimensions we are stepping into. Where the outdated monotheistic religions didn’t offer enough space for the female role old beliefs are stepping in. And within a more sustainable way of living, we understand that we are part of Mother Earth and what we do to the earth, we do to ourselves. Ancient polytheistic beliefs like neo-paganism, wicca, the goddessmovement, tantra, shintoism and animism are mixed into a celebration to the connection with the earth. Within these New Dimensions there is space for both the feminime, the masculine and above all, nature itself. As we are all nature. As we evolve spiritually we become more compassionate and tuned to nature it, which helps us in preserving it. We delve into the cycles of life, celebrate the seasons and the divine energy that is created within all of us. Every living being is sacred and respected, gender does not come into it. We are all seen as equal. But besides diving into nature, the force of science and technology cannot be ignored. As we collectively step out towards the future’s unknowable horizon, ancient spirituality enhanced by modern science and technology, will help us find our way to a more flourishing future.

35

As technology is ever more present into our daily lives, it makes us ask more questions. Who are we? What makes us human? In what do we differ from Artifical Intelligence? And can technology be a part of our spiritual lives? It creates an even bigger need to explore our own minds and connections with others.

The Divine Explorer is undertaking spiritual journeys to deepening the connection with themselves and others. With the abundance of technology, we long for deepening our senses. These journeys will have an impact on how we view and experience our bodies and how we grow mentally to create space for altruism. They create a space where we can explore our sexuality and float into an orgasmic realm. Embracing our human nature. Sexual energy is a powerful force, that can be a great catalyst for spiritual growth As technology and science opened up, mystic experiences are also integrated into modern mental wellness and healthcare. They are designed to help ease our dying process or treat people suffering from PTST.

NEW DIMENSIONS

Blue wasn’t always seen as the masculine colour. For centuries blue was seen as a delicate and dainty colour, and thus very suitable for girls and women.

51

In the Modern Matriarchy colours are flipped and mixed. Blue is now the colour of the sky and sea. Of a calm mind and body. It symbolizes trust, loyalty, wisdom faith, truth and heaven. As a spiritual colour it represents being open to new experiences and flowing energy.

Spirituality gives a certain perspective in life. As a person progresses on the path of spirituality his or her priorities in life change. The focus of life shifts more towards getting personal happiness through mental peace and less on material needs and desires.

Technological progress unravels many of nature’s mysteries and shows us its greatness. A new science of biomimicry is developing, where we are finding that nature, which has billions of years of headstart on us, has far better answers than we have produced. It is the realisation that our technological progress will take a quantum leap by copying nature’s designs. Many of our inventions have been preceded by nature’s designs millions of years ago. As we become more spiritual we will also become a technologically advanced civilisation. When we apply our sharpened brains to any problem, then solutions result. The nature of the brain is such that as we make it powerful it wants to increase the experience -- the mind-expanding process includes the understanding of world, cosmos and universe. This obviously includes the desire to travel in space and intergalactically. That can only be achieved by very advanced technological progress. Thus a necessary condition for largescale spiritual progress is to have technological progress.

DR. ANIL K. RAJVANSHI I HUFFINGTON POST

Most wars are resource related. As we advance spiritually and technologically we will stop waging wars since the resources available will be converted uniquely and more efficiently to provide creature comforts to all of humankind. “As we advance spiritually and technologically we will stop waging wars since the resources available will be converted uniquely and more efficiently to provide creature comforts to all of humankind.” As individuals we create technologies for our own selfish needs and, depending on our spiritual progress, may or may not use them for the betterment of mankind. But collectively, spiritual and technological progress follow the natural evolution of humans towards an advanced civilisation. And all our individual shortcomings are swept away by the stream of evolution for general good.

Spirituality also helps us to have a compassionate view of nature. As we evolve spiritually we become more tuned to it which helps us in preserving it. Besides it helps us live in harmony with each other and enables everybody to work together for the common good. This is also the genesis of non-violence.

Redefining Beauty

MODERN MATRIARCHY

Women are more then just their bodies. Their bodies are an instrument for their own use and experience. Not an ornament to be admired for. The cultural construct of the ‘ideal’ body has been around sinds pre-history. We went from curvaceous, thickset silhouettes to thin, waif-like models and to shapely backsides. In the 20th century there was a very defined shift towards an increasingly young, athletic and slender body. The influence by the ‘male gaze’, social media and the obsession to stay fit and healthy has brought women unattainable goals to be met. Within the Modern Matriarchy the way that women look towards their body has shifted. Woman realize that the feminine power isn’t just in beauty. It’s in who you are and what you do. It’s in your physical power, the power to be, do, live and move. This change of view creates a focus on our inner worlds, mental health, spirituality and building meaningful relations with others. It is a mindful way of looking at ourselves. It is not about loving or hating our bodies. It’s about the space in between where we can create sustainable bodies and minds. Within this space we realise that it is not about posting your body on instagram, it’s about experiencing the moment. It is not about companies using diverse models, but about finding out that we might not need all these products at all. It is about allowing failure into our lives and understanding that without failure there is no succes. So that we learn to appreciate the body as a tool for expressing kindness and developing the inner beauty of generosity and virtue.

Sustainable Body Image 72

Eating and exercising to be healthy may generally be a good policy, but a concern for looking healthy can be unhealthy for the mind. The modern obsession with impossibly perfect body images has taught so many people to hate their bodies that we’ve come to identify all positive body images as psychologically healthy, and all negative body images as psychologically sick. Unhealthy body images, whether positive or negative, start with the assumption that the body’s worth is measured by the beauty of its appearance. The damage done by this assumption when it leads to negative body images is common knowledge, but the damage done when it leads to positive images is just as bad. This is because the perception of beauty carries a power. Outer beauty is a quality that invites comparison, and often carries with it a sense of pride and conceit with regard to those you perceive as less attractive than you, along with the kinds of unskillful actions that pride and conceit can so easily engender. An unhealthy negative body image sees an unattractive body as bad. A healthy negative body image sees that physical unattractiveness is simply a perception, as empty as all other perceptions, and irrelevant to the body’s worth or to your own worth as a person. To create a truly healthy body image, we need to focus not on how good the body can look but on the good it can do. Within the spaces in between, we learn to appreciate the body as a tool for expressing kindness and developing the inner beauty of generosity and virtue. With this sort of body image, the appearance of wrinkles is not a threat to the worth of your body but simply a reminder to accelerate our efforts to do good as time is running out.
