We have exciting plans for the development of our online retailing capability. Following the continued growth of the Lakeland websites, we are now seeking someone who can work as part of the Web Team to support the day to day development needs of the online shop to enable continued improvements to our customer experience and to assist with the introduction of further functionality to our website and digital marketing.

To assist the continued growth of Lakeland’s online and offline sales, we’re looking for two new online marketing assistants to join the Marketing E-Commerce team. Increased investment in website content and digital marketing activity has created the requirement for two new roles focused on updating Lakeland’s websites and driving traffic to them. We are looking for people who are passionate about Lakeland and its products and who are keen to use digital marketing to share that passion.

The main responsibilities of the role are: • to become an expert or “super” user of hybris and associated software • applying your technical knowledge to act as a first point of support to business users to resolve problems and issues • working with supporting agencies and software suppliers to resolve issues flagged by stakeholders • develop solutions for issues raised where possible and implement solutions • testing of solutions, fixes, releases, etc. • own the daily checks processes to ensure system integrity

The main responsibilities for the roles are: • commissioning and implementing website content, such as promotional banners for home-page and product category page promotions, stores data, recipes and ‘editorial’ content that inspire customers to use our products • using website management tools to control the display of products, promotions, content and search results on the site • curating and managing a new Lakeland Blog, repurposing existing content and commissioning relevant content as required • managing and evaluating Social Media channels – such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr, YouTube, Vine, Trip Advisor, TrustPilot and other emerging Social Media platforms and technologies • implementing tests, analysing results and reporting the performance of nonproduct, content pages • developing, implementing and evaluating increasingly sophisticated email marketing programmes, for stores and online marketing programmes • updating and helping to develop various Lakeland ‘Apps’ such as virtual catalogues.

Prior experience of working in a similar role would be advantageous but is not a prerequisite. What is most important is that candidates possess a passion for the role, and can clearly demonstrate they possess the abilities and competences necessary to be successful in it. It is likely that the successful candidate will have experience of developing and testing IT systems. Knowledge of relevant web development languages, such as HTML, CSS and Javascript, would be a considerable advantage; however, training will be available. You will: • have experience of IT systems • be able to demonstrate understanding of project management disciplines for the delivery of business change • be able to demonstrate the ability to quickly become proficient in the use of the software packages Lakeland uses to manage its e-Commerce and digital marketing activity • be highly analytical and numerate, confident in the manipulation and analysis of data in order to inform decisions • be confident working independently, able to apply excellent attention to detail and accuracy • be able to demonstrate an understanding around managing third parties, such as our IT partners, as much of the technical work necessary will be outsourced • have a high degree of self confidence and motivation at all times, with the ability to think on your feet, be assertive and ensure that the interests of the company always come first • have (or be able to build up) an extensive knowledge of Lakeland customers, our product range and their uses • possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
