Primary Operatives

We are looking for 4 Primary Operatives to manufacture materials according to standard operating procedures which include safety and GMP instructions, operating a range of plant and equipment. The successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the ability to: • Understand the quality requirements and key stages throughout the manufacturing process • Document the current state of work in progress using batch documentation to pick and check materials as required and record quality checks and cleans in the plant log book • Complete all required paperwork and documentation in a timely and accurate manner • Ensure the correct cleaning and assembly of plant is carried out in accordance with hygiene and product security requirements • Report faults and take an active role in the fault finding process using established problem solving techniques • Dispose of waste materials as required and in accordance with waste segregation regimes • Comply with safety procedures including but not limited to: adopting safe working practises, wearing the required protective clothing, use of safety equipment appropriate to the role Previous experience and working knowledge of the food industry and machinery is preferable but not essential as on the job training will be provided. Once trained, the post holders will work unsupervised to strict procedural guidelines. We are looking for good communicators and individuals who are flexible to changing work shifts. Hours of work will be 12.25 hour shifts days/nights alternate weeks, Tuesday to Thursday. Starting salary £18,263 + shift payment.

Mechanical Craftsperson

We are looking for a highly motivated individual whose duties will include first line fault diagnosis, rectification, maintenance and change-overs of a range of high-speed complex packaging lines, blending equipment and ancillary plant. You will be part of a small team working alongside the production teams to ensure minimum downtime. The successful candidate will possess mechanical skills obtained via a recognised apprenticeship or an apprenticeship coupled with accredited training. Previous industrial experience is not essential as there will be a period of shadowing with an existing Mechanical Craftsperson. Hours of work will be an average of 37.5 per week working 12.25 hour days and nights for which the appropriate shift allowance will be paid. Salary will be commensurate with qualification and experience.
