Location: Holehird, Patterdale Road, Windermere, Cumbria Salary: £10.02 per hour/ £18,286 for 35 hours (£19,592 full time) Hours: 35 hours per week

TOWNSCAPE MANAGER & TOWN HANDYPERSON Both positions are permanent and part-time approx. 15-30 hours per week to be agreed.

Pay Range £17,072 - £20,138 (according to experience) for a 37 hour week; actual salary pro rata to hours worked. Local Government pension scheme. We are looking for a Townscape Manager and supporting Town Handyperson to deal with the day to day activities resulting from Kendal Town Council’s responsibility for the management of small scale infrastructure, allotments, Christmas lights and Kendal in Bloom. The Townscape Manager role would involve undertaking various tasks and managing contractors and/or the Town Handyperson to undertake other tasks. These include allotment site monitoring, general maintenance such as grass and hedge cutting, repairs, infrastructure condition audits, liaison with allotment tenants and contractors, overseeing the work undertaken by contractors and watering, feeding and deadheading of blooms. The Town Handyperson would support the Townscape Manager to undertake the large variety of tasks as outlined above. The part-time hours for each role would be for negotiation. Applicants should enjoy working outdoors and using their own initiative. They should possess experience of dealing with the public and contractors, a knowledge of health and safety requirements, be able to prioritise workloads, possess good physical fitness and flexibility. Experience of similar work and for the Townscape Manager management of staff/contractors would be beneficial. For both posts a clean current driving licence is essential to drive the Town Council van.
