Hostel Support Officer Part-time (18.5 hours), Fixed term (until 31 December 2019) Salary scale F £19,446 to £22,401 per annum (pro rata) We are looking to recruit a Hostel Support Officer working 18.5 hours per week on a rota basis to provide high quality support and service to the individuals and families at Town View Fields Hostel in Kendal. The duties will include: • Controlling and Monitoring access to the Hostel • Ensure new residents are conversant with the license conditions and aware of procedures • Assist in developing, implementing and regularly reviewing support plans for service users • Enable service users to achieve independence in all areas of their life and to be able to move on to permanent housing • Keeping computer and written records and participate in the wide range of administrative tasks necessary for the smooth running of the Hostel • Liaising with statutory and voluntary agencies as appropriate • Ensure that all accommodation (communal and individual rooms) is regularly checked to ensure acceptable levels of cleanliness The working hours will be on a rota basis and will include day, evening, weekend, bank holiday working and sleeping-in duties overnight. Senior Housing Standards Officer Full-time (37 hours per week), Fixed term (12 months), Flexi time scheme Salary scale H £26,470 to £29,055 per annum This is an important post within the Council’s Housing Strategy and Delivery team based at South Lakeland House in Kendal. The post-holder will be responsible for investigating complaints primarily in the private sector, relating to housing standards and ensuring statutory duties are complied with using the Council’s enforcement powers.
