Hostel Support Officer Part-time (18.5 hours), Fixed term (until 31 December 2019) Salary scale F £19,446 to £22,401 per annum (pro rata) We are looking to recruit a Hostel Support Officer working 18.5 hours per week on a rota basis to provide high quality support and service to the individuals and families at Town View Fields Hostel in Kendal. The duties will include: • Controlling and Monitoring access to the Hostel • Ensure new residents are conversant with the license conditions and aware of procedures • Assist in developing, implementing and regularly reviewing support plans for service users • Enable service users to achieve independence in all areas of their life and to be able to move on to permanent housing • Keeping computer and written records and participate in the wide range of administrative tasks necessary for the smooth running of the Hostel • Liaising with statutory and voluntary agencies as appropriate • Ensure that all accommodation (communal and individual rooms) is regularly checked to ensure acceptable levels of cleanliness The working hours will be on a rota basis and will include day, evening, weekend, bank holiday working and sleeping-in duties overnight. Senior Housing Standards Officer Full-time (37 hours per week), Fixed term (12 months), Flexi time scheme Salary scale H £26,470 to £29,055 per annum This is an important post within the Council’s Housing Strategy and Delivery team based at South Lakeland House in Kendal. The post-holder will be responsible for investigating complaints primarily in the private sector, relating to housing standards and ensuring statutory duties are complied with using the Council’s enforcement powers. Other duties will include implementing the Council’s Disabled Facilities Grants policy. Knowledge and previous experience of the above is essential, this includes use of the Housing Health and Safety Rating System, PACE, evidence gathering and service of Legal Notices.
