JEEP PATRIOT LATITUDE 4 X 4 HANDLES ROAD WELL By King Arthur Prayther A King-Size View Dallas, Texas-As we made our monthly trip to Dallas this time around we were behind the wheel of the new Jeep Patriot Latitude 4 X 4. First let me say the vehicle handled the road very well. The 2.4-liter in-line four-cylinder DOHC 16-valve Dual VVT engine gave us plenty of power and yet we got some good economy numbers. Taking into consideration the gasoline in Dallas was nearly four dollars per gallon. Our test vehicle lived up to the reported 21 miles per gallon in the city and 26 miles per gallon on the highway.
The inside of the new Patriot was what caught my attention due to the fact our test vehicle was priced at just under $26,000. We were impressed with the interior space and the overall comfort of the ride. The stability on the highway at high speeds also was a pleasant surprise for us as well. The front seats met all our standards for a long haul and the overall dash layout was pleasant to say the least. A four spoke leather wrapped steering wheel made driving adjustments a breeze. Sound system is an Uconnect 430 CD/DVD/MP3/HDD with
6.5-inch touch screen display 40GB hard drive with 28 GB available. Voice command Bluetooth remote USB port, Sirius XM radio with one year subscription available

point for the new Patriot and when you take everything into consideration Jeep had done a wonderful job with the product. Needless to say we were really impressed with the overall performance of this vehicle during our weeklong test period. SERVICES FOR RADIO GIANT RICK ROBERTS By King Arthur Prayther A King-Size View Funeral services are now set for the late Claude “Rick” Roberts who passed away on Thursday March 21, 2013. On the morning of Saturday March 30th at the Christian Rescue Mission located at 3229 Hadley Houston, Texas 77004, a viewing will take
place from 9.00 AM until 11.00AM with the funeral services to follow. Roberts will be buried at Paradise Cemetery North. Claude “Rick” Roberts was born on November 11, 1941 in Sunnyside area of Houston, Texas. His father took him to see disc jockey George Prather of KGBC in Galveston and he fell in love with radio announcing. Prather is said to have been the first black in the southwest to have a live radio show. He was broadcasting while in a wheel chair. A few years later in elementary school Rick got a chance to meet Vernon Chambers who was on the radio at KCOH AM 1430. That really inspired Roberts to go into the broadcast industry even more.
Claude “Rick” Roberts was to radio what Michel Jordan was to basketball
In 1958 while in the 10th grade at Worthing High School Roberts entered and won a radio talent contest at KYOK AM 1590. Taking first place and
winning a scholarship to Texas Academy of Broadcasting he went to work at KYOK part time until he completed the course. In 1960 Rick graduated from Worthing and started his career at KYOK AM 1590. But the winds of change blew in and he moved to WBOK in New Orleans, Louisiana and worked there until 1967. Among his honors he actually covered Hurricanes Betsy and Carla in 1963 and 1964. Returning to Houston in 1967, Roberts would begin with the morning drive from 6.00AM until 10.00AM and hold that slot for more than 21 years. Going on to become program director and station manager as well as becoming the best voice in the South when it comes to advertisement. During this tenure Roberts would hire such legends as Wash Allen, Don Samuel, Ralph Cooper, Susie Stillwell, Little Rickie Williams, Michael Harris and Tommy D. Armstrong and many more.
Early 1990 Roberts took over the program at KTSU and he set new standards for the college radio station and helped to build it into what it is today. Due to health issues Roberts retired in 2000 and concluded more than 42 years of community services and touched many
lives in the process. In 2007 Roberts was honored with the Fiesta Lifetime Achievement Award. The broadcast world lost a legend but Rick Roberts will live in the hearts and minds of those of us who loved him the most. Rest in Peace Rick!

DODGE JOURNEY CREW PERFECT FOR MID-SIZE CREW By King Arthur Prayther A King-Size View Austin, Texas-It was great to make our annual trip to Austin for the state boys basketball championship tournament. This time around we had the pleasure of taking the new Dodge Journey Crew and found it to be simply pleasant. To start with the Journey Crew is powered by a proven 3.6 Liter V 24-valve VVT engine that gave us just over 25 miles per gallon on highway 290 all the way to the capitol city. It offers 20 per gallon in the city and we are proud to say our test vehicle lived up to those numbers. The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission that we also found
to be smooth shifting.

RAILWORKS You are a veteran that has served his country with honor. You returned and things did not go well. You may have accrued a criminal record and work is not easy to find. What do you do? If you have been reading here a while you may remember that in December of 2011 I spotlighted the Houston Launch Pad (TLP). The Launch Pad is an origination that helps our veterans that have just such a dilemma. ( http://issuu.com/empowermentthursdays/docs/ksv-december2011/1 ) Founder Prentice Goods has partnered with several businesses that are willing to help our vets. One such company is Railworks. I don’t often focus on a business; but occasionally one shines so brightly that they deserve some recognition. About eighteen months ago TLP and Railworks struck a deal that would give our veterans another chance. TLP takes qualified candidates that have earned the right to a second chance and trains them to be railroad track maintenance and installation workers. First they must prove that they are drug free and committed to changing their lives. Then after a four week program, they are then permitted to apply for full time employment with Railworks. Railworks has provided many of the equipment and tools used for this training and advises the training program on a regular basis. Railworks then takes them through an additional training period that will qualify them to be track repair laborers. They are given a chance to prove
themselves with a crew. To date, about 20 graduates of the TLP program have been placed with Railworks. One has even been promoted to a crew supervisor. I recently had the opportunity to sit down with Bob Rolf, Railworks Vice President and General Manager based in Houston. According to Bob, the employees hired from the program have a much higher retention rate than general hires off the street.
one of the many large cities in the United Stated and Canada that Railworks serves. Crews of about five men will go out on jobs to maintain and repair tracks damaged by many causes. This is not easy work. It is outside manual labor. It does, however, offer a decent wage with benefits. Derailments are a top priority. Once the railcars are cleared, the railroads want the track open as quickly as possible. Railworks offers a 24 hour service to handle these needs. Other services include crosstie replacement and
track bed refurbishing. Of course, safety is a prime concern with any company. Railworks is no stranger to this worry. Employees are constantly trained and retrained. This is necessary when people are handling heavy tools and working around big machines that are on the rails. Employees may even receive additional training from the plant they are working in. To work in many of these plants and port areas employees will have to obtain a TWIC card. Most people that have minor
Page 5
offences that are non-violent are qualified to get a TWIC card. If you know someone that has a less than perfect record and may benefit from this program have them get in touch with TLP at 713.661.8882 or visit them at www.houstonlaunchpad.com. Others that are interested in employment directly with Railworks may contact them at http://www.railworks.com/career s. The Houston Launch Pad is also seeking employers that are willing and able to give these deserving vets a chance.
Railworks is involved in various aspects of railroad track maintenance. They repair tracks for railroads and private lines. In this city there are a huge number (hundreds of miles) of privately owned track in ports, plants and refineries. They also install tracks for these same people. In addition, they work with transit lines in cities including New York City, Tucson and St. Louis. They also install signals and overhead power lines for transit systems and do Maintenance of Way (MOW). MOW involves the upkeep of the track bed and ties. Apparently, despite the rumors, rail is not dead or even dying. Agricultural products, heavy machinery, automobiles and earth products (sand and gravel) are still moved by rail. Some lines are even double and triple tracking to allow increased rail traffic. An example given is the lines between St. Louis and Chicago are being upgraded to a higher speed that will allow trains to travel at speeds of up to 120 miles per hour. Employees placed with Railworks may be offered a job

4TH ANNUAL KEVIN MARSHALL FOUNDATION
CONFERENCE, MARCH, AND RALLY By Dr. Victor Keys A King-Size View Fiesta and King Arthur Productions are proud to announce the 4th Annual Kevin Marshall Foundation Conference, March, and Rally is scheduled for Saturday, April 20, 2013. The conference will kick off at 9:30 a.m., at True Light Missionary Baptist Church. A march down Main Street will follow the conference at 12:00 noon. The march will end at Burrus Elementary
School, where the Rally will occur along with a variety of events and activities. Since its inception in 2009, the Kevin Marshall Foundation, a Ministry Against Gun Violence, continues its mission of bringing gun violence awareness to every person it can, specifically our kids and young adults. Mrs. Marshall stated that “her only son Kevin Marshall was shot down by an 18 year old while attending a friend’s birthday part”. She went on to say that “she believes the cries of gun
violence, has not only captured the attention of the city and state, but the entire nation. We are in a crisis to save our young people and thanks to our President, Barack Obama, who is leading the country in a plea to stop gun violence by introducing legislation to ban assault weapons; our voice is now being heard”. She added that “even though she lost her son, the Kevin Marshall Foundation will continue to fight the battle against gun violence”.

In The Love Corner By Stevie T IS LOVE STARTING TO FADE? Hey lovers is it me or does it seem love is starting to fade. I had one guy to tell me that love didn’t exist. I’m not sure what he had been through but sometimes in our love lives we go through things that seem like we just can’t go on. You know the saying, once you get knocked off your bike, you dust yourself off and get back on and try it again. Sometimes we are afraid, and it takes some longer time to get back on that bike and try it again, bottom line is that at some point we have to try again. Congratulations to Frank and Juanita, just celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary. I’m sure there are times when you are in a dedicated relationship things might not be all roses..But if you love that person you will work through some things(for better or worse). It seems nowdays people don’t work through things, but seem to opt for the easy way out. Our present society is not as resilent as couples back in the old days as we say. Always looking for the easy way out. What did Gradma say? No pain No gain.....or was that Betty Wright, you know what I’m getting at. I’m sure Frank and Juanita had some times where they could have called it quits, but they hung in there and 39 years later they’re looking forward to number 40. ow isn’t that beautiful. Some people say love fades as the years go bye, I think if it is really love it should get stronger not fade, what was once a lustful love should become a stronger unconditional Love, feel me. If you have an anniversary or are a newlywed, make
sure you let me know so I can uplift you, and help keep it going for another forty years, or at least another five. You can Facebook me at Stevie Goodtime T or you can send it to 5011 Almeda, Houston Texas, 77004, in care of Stevie T or you can make it easy and call Monday through Friday from 7pm til midnight at 713 526 1230, the Passion Zone starts at 9pm. If for some reason you haven’t been able to find us, we started broadcasting from 1230am on March 1st under new management and the ownership of Dr. Jesse Dunn. So check us out and tell your neighbors. I’d like to thank everyone that came out to my Annual Valentines Party at Cafe 4212, and all the awesome talent of David Walker The Country Cowboy and Loretta Williams Gurnell, and Rain the poet, look for some big things this year, I’ll be looking for you to be there. The top love songs are 1. Kiss and Say Goodbye The Manhattans 2. The Love We Had The Dells 3. The Kissing Game Kieth Washington 4. As We Lay Shirley Murdoch and 5. I Feel Good All Over Stephanie Mills. If you have a top five love song list, you can send it to my facebook, the station or just call it in as we mentioned earlier and we will put yours in the next edition of the Kingsize View. So until time next keep a little love in your heart, the look of love in your eyes, and don’t let a day go by without telling someone that you Love them, even if that someone is you.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK DERRICK GRIFFIN - ROSENBERG TERRY By King Arthur Prayther A King-Size View Austin, Texas- With just over 11 thousand fans watched the Rangers of Rosenberg terry ease past Dallas Kimball 55-47 to win the Boys Class 4A state title. But their offense was not the key, but sure All-American Derrick Griffin who lead all scorers with 26 points and had 14 rebounds. The real deal was Griffin’s big three blocks as well as two steals and the other Knights shots that he changed the course to led the Rangers to victory. In talking with the Miami bound 6 feet 7 inch star we learned it was part of their game plan to allow Keith Frazier to drive into the waiting shot blocking arms of Griffin. “We told our guards to let him go and when he missed we were going to run the floor”. At one point Kimball, the two time defending champs
led by double figures but had to answer for Griffin down low. “I knew when we were behind I had to step up and then Eugene (Wright) and the rest of our team stepped up as well”. Grabbing 14 rebounds and taking home the Most Valuble Player made for a pretty good day for the big time player who simply put his team on his back and carried them to the state championship. The big fellow went on to say they knew what they had to do and went out on the floor of the Erwin Center and got the job done. “This is a great feeling and I want to thank God for this”. Having already played in the U.S. Army Bowl game as a tight end, Derrick is scheduled to play both football and basketball at Miami. One thing is for sure where ever he plays he will have an impact on the outcome of games!

RISING STARS-TERRACIA MOODY-P.V.
DERRICK SMITH-DALLAS MADISON By King Arthur Prayther A King-Size View TERRACIA MOODY PRAIRIE VIEW Clearly one of the finest runners in the country, Prairie View’s Terracia Moody graced the track at the Alexander Durley Complex at Texas Southern University Saturday March 16, 2013. It was the 62nd running of the TSU Relays but the fun went to the P.V. Women. Moody. a redshirt junior from Longview, Texas won the 400 meters and also ran a leg on the mile relay which also was won by the Lady Panthers. The lovely and talented Moody exploded out of the block and never looked back in the open quarter where her best time is 54.66. But back in her days at Longview High School she was a 200 meter district champ all four years and also qualified for the Region II action in each of her four years at the East Texas high school. In the classroom at P.V. Moody is studying to become a nurse and works on his masters in Sociology as well. When the Southwestern Athletic Conference Track and Field Championships take place the Lady Panthers of P.V. are going to have a lot to say about how things shape up. It was good to see P.V. make a big splash at the TSU Relays and who knows just how far this can take them.
went on to say he felt Madison was a little deeper than Yates and had plans of running them down. “We felt if we followed our coaches’ instruction we had an excellent chance to win state”. For Smith’s effort, he was an easy pick for Most Valuble Player of the Class 3A game as his team rolled to an 85-72 win over the Jack Yates Lions. This was easily the most exciting game of the larger classes to say
the least on the subject. Yates made 30 of 78 shots and Madison connected on 29 of 73. But 24 turnovers hurt Yates as Madison pulled away at the end outscoring Yates by 11 points in the second half after the Lions only trailed by 2 points at the break. The battle was fast and furious as Yates led by four early in the first and Madison led by as many as 15 points in the fourth period.

Austin, Texas- In clearly the most exciting game of the state tournament this year the Dallas Madison Trojans ran past the Jack Yates Lions 85-72. Head coach Damien Mobley a Prairie
View A & M University graduate and his staff of Tracy Flentroy and Roderick Johnson did a great job of keeping the Lions off balance all during the contest. “We felt all along our big guys would be an advantage and plus we felt we may have been a little deeper than Yates”. Mobley was referring to Devonte Robinson 6 feet 9 inches and Kwame Thomas at 6 feet 7 inches. The Trojans also had 6 feet 8 inches J. D. Wallace along with the sensational Derrick Smith at 6 feet 2 inches at one guard and the 6 feet 2 inches Admon Gilder. “We knew going in Yates was an outstanding team and we would have to play the full game to beat them”. The Trojans finished the season 32-4.
When asked about the ranking and how the Lions of JY were ranked number one in the state in class 3A all season long he replied“We don’t put too much stock in the rankings because we felt all along we were ready to play anyone and we were”.

Austin, Texas-Before a huge crowd of more than 11 thousand fans the Rangers of RosenbergTerry came from down by as many as 15 points in the second quarter to edge Dallas Kimball 55-47. The key was their third period defense holding Kimball to only seven points after being held to seven points in the first period. “We simply had an awful first period and found ourselves only down by eight points, so we said to our team if we right the ship in time we still have a shot at the title”. Jackson went on to say the Houston Region is so tough if you can come out of it then you have to be ready to face the Dallas Region in the state tournament. “We felt all along we had a good shot because over the last three years we had been a pretty good team and to get through the tough playoff games kind of gave us a good feeling”.
Jackson is assisted by Randolph Brown, Brian Henry, Jeff Ives and Clyde Kiser as the Trojan went 31-9 to claim the Class 4A title. Having to face Dallas Kimball the two-time reigning champions and a team that had won three of the last five state titles Jackson knew the road would be hard. “Once Eugene (Wright) got those two fouls it kind of takes away from what we wanted to do, but Derrick
(Griffin) came up big and our team just kind of got rolling”. The well tested Rangers played the likes of Fort Bend Travis, Fort Bend Marshall and Booker T. Washington of HIouston Independent School District in the preseason to get ready for what they knew was going to be a long hard fight to the title tournament. “I’m so proud of these guys and the way we fought game in and game out.

STUDENT OF THE WEEK RAEVYN ROGERS-KINKAID Here we go again as we present you another outstanding student in our series of Fiesta Student of the Week. She’s the talented and charming junior Raevyn Rogers of Kinkaid High School. The outstanding 800 runner is the top girls’ 800 meters runner in the country. Rogers made short work of the event at the 62nd running of the Texas Southern University Relays winning it going away. With a love for Science in the classroom at Kinkaid, Raevyn is soft spoken but a fierce competitor in the track. The daughter of former Madison and P.V. star Rhonda Rogers and Pervis Hunt, Raevyn is on a pace that could land her in the Olympics. Clearly focused on what the task
is ahead, this 11th graders has got what it takes to make it to the big time. Raevyn taking her good looks from her mother Rhonda Rogers-Hunt as well as some of athletics skills has been running the 800 since she was five years old. “That’s my baby because I can remember running the 800 and crying all the way to the finish line”. Blessed with an outstanding frame and a solid growth build this kid is going to be special before she is done. With goals of becoming a Physical Therapist in her adult life, Raevyn has a love for helping people and says that’s the most important thing she is thinking about. “It goes way back for me and my grandfather (The late Roland “Bear” Rogers)
ATHLETES OF THE WEEK ANDREW HARRISION-FB TRAVIS
CAMERON BURRELL-FB RIDGE POINT ANDREW HARRISION FB TRAVIS Austin, Texas-After the long wait with a bitter taste in his stomach, Andrew Harrison can finally exhale. finished their high school careers. The Fort Bend Travis star (Andrew) had 32 points to lead his team to the Region III title against tough rival Fort Bend Bush in the fourth meeting between the two teams. He followed that with a four for four from the field and nine of 14 from line for his 16 points to lead all scorers in the Class 5A title game against South Grand Prairie. The Tigers clawed their way to a 46-38 win as Andrew went a perfect four of dour from the field and pulled down a team leading nine rebounds as well dished out three assists and had three steals also. More than 12 thousand fans were at the Erwin Center to witness the game and Andrew actually had a smile on his face when it was over. “We had some good players from Texas in Hoops and I’m going to pray to God for what he has done for m. Having remembered last year’s defeat made us work harder all season long and
use to sit and talk with me to make sure I understood what life is all about”. The talented junior went on to add her mother is clearly her most driving force in life and she explained why. “She calmly tells me when something is wrong, we seek God’s help and get it fixed as soon as possible”. Raevyn went on to add her mother makes it clear to her adjustments are to be made and over the years I’ve been blessed to make the proper adjustments with her help. When asked about President Barack Obama becoming the first African American President she made it clear it’s a wonderful thing. “Oh I’d say Mr. Obama is an idol for some of us because it goes to show that we (Blacks) can pursue the nation’s chief executive office and win, he has set such a great example”. On Sundays you’ll find the Rogers family down at Jordan Grove Missionary Baptist Church where the dynamic Danny Davis is the pastor. “Just going to Sunday school and tak-
ing in the lessons is a true blessing for me and my family because at Jordan Grove we are a very big and very supportive family”. Describing herself as a very supportive and helpful person, Raevyn described what’s the key to a good life. “You must help those who are less fortunate than you are, to serve God and that’s what I want to do the rest of my life”. When asked if she would do anything over again if she could she said no. “I feel things happen for a reason and God is in control of the Universe and we are to learn from life’s experiences. On the subject of school changes Raevyn says she is very pleased with the administration at Kinkaid and would not change a thing if she was in charge. “It’s an excellent school and our spirit would be a 10 and I’m happy to be here”. In closing Raevyn gave me some words of encouragement when she said pain is weakness leaving the body. Never looked at it that way but it’s true and I
I’m so thankful for this victory”. Harrison also added guard John Burnett and forward Daniel Chika helped a great deal along with Tyronne Jordan and the entire team. “Yes sir teams try to take the ball out of Aaron and my hands but our teammates made them pay when they tried that.

After a subpar year, speedster Cameron Burrell is on target to live up to the family name. The sprinter from Fort Bend Ridge Point blasted out of the blocks to take the 100 meters title in the 62nd running of the Texas Southern University Relays in a record time of 10.25. Keep in mind that was with a 2.8 wind aid but it still is faster than the 10.45 he had already ran to have the best time in the nation among high school boys. It just so happens this guy is destin to be great because he is the son of former University of Houston sprinter LeRoy Burrell who once held the title as the WORLD FASTEST HUMAN. “It’s great to know someone who has been to the top in this sport and my coaches have put together a new work out for me and I’m just working hard to achieve my goal of going all the way this time around”. Burrell who placed in the state in his sophomore year

a little about the head winds in the earlier events but he felt he was strong enough to push through and it worked out well for him. The youngster ran the 4 by 100 meters leg and he was felt great and was really looking forward to the 100 meters. Did he ever run a super race in a time of 10.25 and even when you deduct the 2.8 electronic wind aided is still near the 10.45 that led the nation going into the event. Working on his speed in practice is now paying off for Burrell and you are seeing the results at the finish line!

HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL REPORT: STATE CHAMPIONSHIP EDITION By King Arthur Prayther A King-Size View FB TRAVIS WINS CLASS 5A TITLE Austin, Texas-The Tigers of Fort Bend Travis rallied from a slow start to win the class 5A title over South Grand Prairie 46-38. Both teams came of the gate with a 6-5 first period lead the teams would score only 14 points the second period and Travis only lead 20-19 at the half. But it was Andrew Harrison who was not going to let it go down that way in the end. The senior who is bound for Kentucky long with his twin brother Aaron took charge. Going to the foul line a game high 14 times Andrew managed to sink 9 of them and he also went 3 of 3 from the field including the only trey he took to lead all scorers with 16 points and hauled down a team leading 9 rebounds as well.
closed the year at 33-5 while South Grand Prairie finished at 37-4. Many coaches were talking about a shot clock is not needed in high school basketball and this game is going to add fuel to that fire and it will probably get a real good look at the next UIL realignment meetings. ROSENBERG-TERRY TAKES HOME THE CLASS 4A STATE TITLE Austin, Texas-The Rangers of Rosenberg Terry who the class
4A title with a 55-47 win over Dallas Kimball. The Knights of Dallas Kimball had their armor shining with the last two state championship class 4A titles under their arm and three of the last 5 titles as well. But it was not to be due to the hard fighting group of guys from Terry high school just wouldn’t be denied, at one point trailing by 16 points in the second period. The Rangers went to work on defense and held Kimball to only 7 points the third period and 12 in the final period to win the game going away. Senior
sensation Derrick Griffin did his thing with 3 blocks and 2 steals to go along with his MVP 26 points and 14 rebounds performance. He got help from guard Eugene Wright who came to life by making 8 of 13 free throws and Dimetri Amerson hauled down 9 rebounds and scored 9 points to give the Rangers some much needed offense. Wright talked about how tough it was going against the bigger guards from Kimball. “We knew they were bigger but Derrick told us to let them go and if they miss we were going to run up court
and that’s how we got back into the game”. Wright added they had no doubt they were going to get rolling sooner or later. Billy White scored 4 points but added 9 rebounds to keep Kimball to one shot on most of their possessions in the second half. Terry closed out the season with a 31-9 mark while Kimball finished 23-10 but has gone to the state five of the last six years having won three times and lost close games in two of them.
On the other hand his twin Aaron went 3 of 16 and had 8 points but managed to grab 7 rebounds and had one block and one steal. But John Burnett hit on 3 of 5 shots and added a couple rebounds to help get the Tigers rolling. With more than 12 thousand fans at the Frank Erwin Center on the edge of their seats Travis made 12 of their 32 attempts and had only 5 assists in the contest also. The 15 point 4th period was the key to victory along with South Grand Prairie’s 6 for 26 from 3 point land and Travis 3 of 15 from long range made it clear both teams appeared a little tight. Thanks to 18 points in the paint and 18 points off turnovers Travis got the job done. Travis

It was the Jack Yates Lions of Houston going against the Trojans of Dallas Madison high school. Speed and quickness was all over the floor at the Frank Erwin Center. Madison jumped out on Yates and led it 24-14 after one period, but the Lions came roaring back with a 24-16 advantage in the second period to lead by two points at the half. Madison outscored Yates 18-14 in the third period and again 27-20 in the fourth period. The Lions had won twice at the state tournament and lost last year on the class 4A level. This was the Lions first trip to state in class 3A while Madison had been in 2009 and 2010. Derrick Smith hit on 8 of 17 shots and pulled down 14 rebounds to lead the Trojans to victory. With help from Admon Gilder who had 19 points and Eric Robinson who had 7 boards the Trojans appeared to ware the
Lions down in the second half. JD Wallace added 8 boards and 8 points as the big presence of the Trojans gave the Lions fits down low and it turned out the be the difference the game.
Devonte Robinson added 15 points on 6 of 7 shooting and hauled down 7 rebounds as well. The pace was certainly up tempo as Yates connected on 30 of 78 shots and Dallas Madison made

WHAT IS TRUTH?ONE FAITH, IS CHRIST DIVIDED? One Faith, Is Christ Divided? Note how the apostle Paul answered this question to those of the church of and by Christ, in Ephesus. “Eph 4:3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; 5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.”(KJV)
Dear reader, it is again good, and I hope as always, a blessing, to be able to share some simple bible truths with you. We hope this article, as in all others, are taken in the context in which they are written. The intent is to search the scriptures to find “What is Truth”. Jesus stated clearly what made the Apostles Holy, right and one with God, as he prayed to his Father; the same makes us Holy, right and one with God; “John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. 18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. 19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. 20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; 21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.” These articles are not of ours, or no other man’s interpretation, this would be unscriptural. We believe through definitions, and the preponderance of scripture which is (Having superior weight, force, importance, or influence of scripture), allows SCRIPTURE to INTERPRET SCRIPTURE, thereby allowing a better understanding on that topic. Please read what the Apostle Peter had to say on interpretation, as he was guided by The Holy Spirit; “2 Pet. 1:16 For we have not followed (1)cunningly devised fables [believable error], when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.17 For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.18 And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark
place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: 20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any (1)private (2)interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. 2 Pet. 2: 1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. 3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned [false] words (3)make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.” Definitions: (1)private-2398 idios-pertaining to oneself, one’s own, belonging to oneself (2)interpretation-1955 epilusis (ep-il’-oo-sis); from 1956; explanation, i.e. application: KJV—interpretation, 1) a loosening, unloosing. (3)make merchandise of you-1710 emporeuomai- to use a person or a thing for gain.
In today’s religious world, there are many different ways given by man, to be right with God. We must remember the order of things [chain of command] note the apostle Paul; “1 Cor. 11: 1 Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. 2 Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you. 3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.” God, the creator, tells the created (creature), through his Son, Christ Jesus, how to be right [righteous] with Him. It is not uncommon to hear one ask “what faith are you?” This is a legitimate question because there are many faiths. It is also not uncommon to hear this statement “go to a Church of your choice”. This is also a legitimate statement, seeing that there are so many different Faiths. We have even heard the statement “there is nothing in a name; we are all worshipping the same God”. If “there is nothing in a name”, why are there so many, in the religious world today? Lord willing, in this month’s article we will attempt to prove [try or test] by scripture these, what we believe to be erroneous statements that are so commonly made and believed
by man (see 1Thes. 5:21).
As we have stated before, man strive to be different, in faiths [which are beliefs, and or religions], in names, in practices, in traditions, in doctrines and in baptisms, which advocates division. This is contrary to the instructions left by Christ, through his Apostles. We submit that names advocate ownership and doctrine. The theory of “there is nothing in a name, we are all worshipping the same God”, was tried once before by the Apostle Peter. Now let’s read what God had to say about, different names, all worshipping Him. Please read carefully; “Matt.17: 1 And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, 2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. 3 And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him. 4 Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. 5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him. 6 And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid. 7 And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid. 8 And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only.” You would think, that we would have learned from the example that we have just read. Why are we so stubborn? Peter wanted to build three Tabernacles, a type of “Church”, if you will, after asking Jesus’ permission. Note definition of “[Tabernacle- 4633 skene 1) a tent, a tabernacle, (made of green boughs, or skins or other materials) 2) used of that wellknown movable temple of God after the pattern of which the temple at Jerusalem was built.]” Peter seemed to have thought that there was nothing in a name and there was nothing wrong with making tabernacles for two great men, Moses and Elias, if they made one for Christ first, all worshipping God. But, it was obvious that God was upset, in that while Peter yet spake, He interrupted him (see verse 5). Then in verse 8 God made sure that there would be no further mistake, note verse 8 “And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only.” When will we
learn? We hope and pray, it is before it’s too late!
Let us look at some names (faiths) that are given by man. We submit these are names given by men because, they cannot be found in New Testament scripture, which is the Apostles’ doctrine. Can one that is called a Jehovah’s Witness, thereby being of the “Jehovah’s Witnesses” faith, at the same time be called a Mormon? If we are honest, the answer would understandably be, absolutely not, because Mormons are of the Mormon faith, and the two have doctrinal differences which is [division]. For one faith is said to have been started by Charles Taze Russell, after the “Great Apostasy” and did not adopt its name until 1931. Please read: “Then on July 26, 1931, at the international assembly in Columbus, Ohio, came the public adoption of the name ‘Jehovah’s Witnesses’” [What Religion Has Done For Mankind, Copyright, 1952, p.311]. The other faith believes that Joe Smith was a prophet sent from God, and their doctrine is out of the Book of Mormon. Can one that is called a Methodist, thereby being of the Methodist faith, at the same time, be called a Baptist? Again, if we are honest, the answer would understandably be, absolutely not because Baptists, are of the Baptist faith, and they also have doctrinal differences which is [division]. For one faith believe in the twenty-five articles of religion in the Methodist Discipline. The other believes in the nineteen articles of faith in the Baptist Manual. It is also understood that one that is called a Catholic, cannot at the same time, be called any of the faiths mentioned, or any that have not been mentioned, simply because, they are of the Catholic faith. This, of course, again causes doctrinal differences which is [division]. This faith uses a catechism as a summary of faith, and believes strongly in the “Pope” as their supreme leader on earth. The proof is in the pudding, so, there is something in a name, as it should be. For with every name that is given by man, there is a different faith, doctrine, and way to be right with God. As much as we would all like to have it our way, like Burger King, there is not but one way, according to the Lord and savour Jesus Christ (John14: 6). Some say the apostle Peter was the first “Pope”, after searching the scriptures this is NOT what they teach. Peter said who and what he was, and never once was he called, nor did he call
himself, a “Pope”. Charles Taze Russell, Joe Smith,* John Smyth,* John and Charles Wesley*, the Pope, nor Alexander Campbell, are found in the inspired word of the New Testament. They are not in the inspired word of the bible at all. So who are they? What we did find was Christ, the head of the ONE BODY, which is the ONE CHURCH that he is building (Acts 2:41&47), and his apostles and other believing brethren. Now let us read, and allow the Word which is the Truth, tell us who and what Peter was. There was a dispute among the twelve, as to who was the greatest. Peter was one of the twelve, and here was an opportunity for Christ to have made it clear, as to who was the greatest among them. Note what the Lord Jesus had to say in Mark 9:34-35, also note that Peter said, he was an apostle of Jesus Christ and an elder, NEVER a “Pope”. Mark 9:34 But they held their peace: for by the way they had disputed among themselves, who should be the greatest. 35 And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all. (KJV) Acts 10:25 And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him. 26 But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.(KJV) 1 Pet 1:1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,(KJV) 1 Pet 5:1 The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:(KJV) 2 Pet 1:1 Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:(KJV) With all due respect, titles that are worn by men in the religious world today, such as; “Pope”; “Holy Father” “Reverend”; “Master”; “Rabbi” ......etc., have not been authorized by God through Jesus Christ and his apostles. But rather, have been condemned by scriptures as titles worn by men. They all advocate division so one must conclude they are not of the ONE FAITH.

WHAT IS TRUTH? ONE FAITH, IS CHRIST DIVIDED? They all must be authorized by God [‘Elohiym; Theos] through Jesus Christ, the ONLY BEGOTTEN and Beloved Son in whom He is well pleased (Matt.17:4-8; John 1:14-18; 3:16-18; Hebrews 11:17; 1John 4:9). They must also be found in the Apostles’ doctrine; which is in New Testament scripture, thereby following the blueprint of THE Church that Christ is building. Please read; Ps 111:9 He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and (1)reverend is his name. 10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.(KJV) Definition: (1)reverend is his name 3372 yare’ (yaw-ray’); a primitive root; to fear; morally, to revere; cause. to frighten: KJV— affright, be (make) afraid, dread (-ful), (put in) fear (-ful, -fully, -ing), (be had in) reverence (-end), X see, terrible (act, -ness, thing). Matt 23:8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are BRETHRE . 9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. 10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ. 11 But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. 12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.(KJV) Dear reader, again with all due respect, we have not found any New Testament scripture, authorizing any of these faiths, doctrines, or names. They simply cannot be found anywhere in New Testament scripture. What’s simply taught is; “Eph. 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; 5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.” This is to all that have obeyed from the heart the New Testament form [blueprint] of doctrine, which was delivered to us, by the Apostles (Rom.6:17). This New Testament blueprint advocates oneness, not division. According to scriptures, there is no Church of our choice, there is but one and it is the Church of and by Christ (Eph.3:21).The one body, the one Church, is Christ. He is the builder (Matt.16:1718) and the head of it (Eph.1:22-23; 5:23; Col.1:18).
The one Spirit is Christ! The one hope is in Christ! The one Lord is Christ! The one faith is in Christ! The one baptism by submersion, is of Christ, thereby putting one into Christ, as one put on Christ (Gal.3:23-29)! Christ, Christ, Christ, Christ, Christ! No other name is “worthy”, “needed” or given, under heaven among men, whereby we must be saved (Acts 4:12). As one that believes on God through Christ His Son, one must follow the New Testament blueprint in name; in doctrine; in traditions as given by Christ, to his Apostles, this makes one a Christian, and a Christian only! This is the New Testament example. Not a Mormon; “Methodist Christian”; “Jehovah’s Witnesses”; “Baptist” Christian or a “Catholic” Christian etc., just a Christian, following the Apostles words, nothing more, nothing less, nothing else. This would make us all speak the same things, and there would be no division among us (1Cor.1:10; Phil. 3:16-20), thereby making us all One in Christ (John 17:20-22; Rom.10:12).
go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth. 2 And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the LORD shall name.” Many years past, many events happened, but God’s people had no new name, and there was no evidence of the Gentiles, seeing the righteousness of God. So, the prophecy was holding true. There were some important chain of events for mankind’s salvation such as, the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord and Savour Jesus Christ (Matt.26:27-28; Rom. 4:24-25; 1Cor.15:1-8; Gal.1:34; 3:12-13). The Word, which was and is Christ, was in the beginning, with God. He was then born “...not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” (Please read John1:1-17) The Apostle John, continued to teach in verse 14, “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the O LY begotten of the father,) full of grace and truth.”
There is but one name authorized by the Apostles, for those that are members of the Church that Christ is building, and that is Christians, followers of Christ through the Apostle’s word, nothing else. This name was prophesied of by the holy prophet Isaiah. Please read carefully the reminder left by the Apostle Peter, to those of the one faith, as he was guided by The Holy Spirit; “2 Pet. 3: 1 This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance: 2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour: 3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,” [scoffers; false teachers ]. If you read carefully, we hope you noted that, Christians are not to be mindful, of the words spoken by just any prophets. According to the Apostle Peter, they must be holy prophets. One might ask, what made prophets holy? First of all, one must have been authorized by God, by being found in the inspired word of God. Then, their prophecy must have come true; Holy men of God, not by the will of man spake as they were moved by The Holy Ghost (2 Pet.1:20-21). Now let’s read carefully; “Isa. 62:1 For Zion’s sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof
Contrary to what many are taught and believe, Jesus’ suffering did not start on the cross. He lived a life of suffering. He left heaven, came down to this sin filled earth, being born in a feed trough (Luke 2:7-16), meek (Matt.21:4-7). One that had no beauty, when they saw him (Isa.53:1-12), rejected by his own (John1:1-11), having no place to lay his head (Matt. 8:20; Luke 9:58), refusing all earthly, materialistic things offered to him by the devil (Luke 4:1-14), and then suffered and died most cruelly on the cross for our sins. He was then buried, and rose again the third day early on the first day of the week according to the scriptures (Mark 16:9; Luke 24:1-8). He was seen of Cephas, and then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of about five hundred brethren at once (1Cor.15:4-8). Before ascending back into heaven, Jesus commanded his apostles to wait in Jerusalem for the Comforter/Holy Ghost, which was to be sent to them from heaven, from his Father; to guide them in all truth (please read John 14:16-26; 15:26; 16:7-13). When the Pentecost was fully come, they [the apostles] were in one place, with one accord and received the Holy Ghost as a rushing mighty wind (Acts 2:1-4). All these things had happened, but the Gentiles had not yet seen the righteousness of God so, no new name had been given to His people. Peter then preached the first gospel sermon, in the name of
Christ. After they heard Peter preach the gospel, believing what they heard, they asked what they must do. Peter told every one of them, to repent, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, for the remission of sins (Acts 2:29-39; Rom.10:9 17). The Jews (Acts 2:36-37) gladly received (Acts 2:41) Peter’s word, and on that same day, about three thousand were added unto them, and they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine. Yet, God had not given his people a new name.
Then in Acts chapter10, something occurred, that hadn’t occurred before according to scripture. The first Gentile, Cornelius, had seen the righteousness of God, and was converted. Now according to the prophet Isaiah, God’s people were now to have a new name. In Acts chapter 11, for the first time there was a new name, one that had not been heard of before, a name that was given by prophecy, please read; “Acts11: 26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.” They were now Christians, not Baptist, Methodist, Catholic Christians, etc., just Christians. If there’s any other name mentioned before the name Christian, this shows what’s first in rank, (the preeminence). The first thing said identifies what BODY/FAITH one is of. There is but one body/faith that Christ is the Head of and that is his body, the Church with no other Name (Eph.4:1-24; Col.1:1-18). King Agrippa made this statement in “Acts 26: 28 Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuades me to be a Christian.” He was almost persuaded to be just a Christian, nothing more and nothing less. Dear reader, if there were no other names in the days of King Agrippa, given to those of the one faith, do you ever wonder, when and where the other names came from? Since they didn’t come from God, Christ, or HIS apostles as they were guided by the Holy Ghost, then they came from man. WOE be unto man, and those that follow MEN. Know this; Christian cannot be spelled, unless Christ is spelled first. This new name, that was fulfilled through prophecy, gives Christ, and only Christ the preeminence; please read again “Col.1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the (1)preeminence.19 For
it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;” Definition: (1)preeminence4409 proteuo (prote-yoo’-o); from 4413; to be first (in rank or influence), to hold the first place: KJV— have the preeminence.
The Lord again, through the Apostle Paul, warns us, as Paul warns the Church in Corinth, about names of men. Please read carefully; “1 Cor. 1:12 Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ. 13 Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?” “1 Cor. 3: 3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? 4 For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal? 5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?” Just as it was and is unscriptural for those of The One Faith (Eph.4:3-5), to be known by names of men, it is equally unscriptural to be known by names of actions, conditions or commands. Those of The One Faith, in the Apostles’ time, were baptized into Christ, but they were not called “Baptist”, but rather were called Christians and Christians only. Those of The One Faith, in the Apostles’ time, had the scriptural method by which the One Body, the One Church of and by Christ, was governed, but they were not called “Methodist”, but rather were called Christians and Christians only. The One Bride of Christ (John 3:25-36), the church that he is the head of, was and is to be universal, but they were not called “Catholic”, but rather were called Christians, and Christians only. The Church of God, which he purchased with his own blood (Acts 20:28), was to, just as today, follow the Apostles doctrine, examples, and commandments, but they were not called “Apostolic”. They were all called Christians, carrying Christ’s name and his name only, just as the bride should. There are many in the religious world today, proclaiming to be Christians, that are known by many other names. If the name we are known by can not be found in the blueprint of New Testament scripture, drawn up by the Apostles as they were guided by the Holy Spirit, then we are not of the faith (2Cor.13:5-8).

WHAT IS TRUTH? ONE FAITH, IS CHRIST DIVIDED? We believe by scripture, it has been proven there is something in a name, but not all is in the name. There are those that are known by the scriptural name of Christ (Rom.16:16-17; Eph. 3:21), but they practice nonscriptural things such as: the traditions of men, rather than the traditions of the Apostles. They also MIND secular things, and days that are not of The Faith, (Philip 3:13-20; Col.2:1-12; 2 Thes.2:10-15; 3:6-7; 2 Cor.13:5-8). If we then, are not of the faith, the Master inspector will reject us in the judgment; fine us to eternal damnation, because we tried to enter into heaven some other way (John 10:1-5; 14:6). According to scripture, we All must follow the New Testament blueprint, given by the Apostles for the church by and of Christ. The one faith, must do all in the name of Christ (Col.3:17), that is All things must be by his Authority, which is found in the Apostle’s words, and by their commandments, to be right (righteous) with God (John 17:19-22; 1Cor.11:1-3; 2 Pet 3:1-3; 1John4:5-6; Jude1:1519). What must we all do, to become Christians only, and be right [righteous] with God, according to the blueprint of New Testament scripture? For one to become a member of the One Faith authorized by Christ, one must: (1)Hear: Acts 10:28-33 Rom. 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? Rom.10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.(KJV) (2)Believe: Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. Rom. 10:10-12; James 2:19-24 (3)Repent: Luke 13:3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.(KJV) (4)Confess: Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine
heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.(KJV) (5)Then be Baptized: Matt.28:19-20; Acts 18:8; 22:15-16; Rom.6:3-4, 16-17; Col.2:10-12
Acts 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. 42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. Gal 3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. 1 PET.3:21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ: When the above commands are obeyed from the heart (mind) (Rom.6:17), then the Lord adds to the Church, such as should be saved (Acts 2:47). Then we are all Christians and Christian only, members of the church by and of Christ. All speaking the same thing, all with the same name, all practicing, and observing the same things, with no division among us, all being One, just as the Lord Jesus prayed for in John the 17 chapter. One must then continue to follow circumspectly, the blueprint of the Apostles doctrine in worship, if not we will be in error according to scripture: “Matt 22:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.” Note again the apostle Paul. “1 Cor. 11:1 Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. 2 Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you.” “Eph 3:1 For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, 2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to youward: 3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, 4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) 5 Which in other ages
was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;” Note again the apostle Peter; “2 Pet 3:2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:”(KJV)
After putting on Christ in baptism, one must continue to follow the blueprint of worship found in the apostles’ doctrine, if we are to be of the one faith. (See also Matt.18:20; Heb.10:25) 1. LORD’S SUPPER; Acts 20: 6 And we sailed away from Philippi after the days of unleavened bread, and came unto them to Troas in five days; where we abode seven days. 7 And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight. [No example or command for unleavened bread is found in the instructions for the Lord’s Supper, by the Lord or his Apostles, therefore it follows not the blueprint of the Church that Christ is building, and is error.] (see also Matt. 26:26; Mark 14:22; Luke 22:19; 1Cor.10:16-17; 1Cor.11: 2330;) 2. SI GI G; [No New Testament scripture or example, for the use of mechanical instrument; choirs (singers) nor singing groups in worship or praise. Therefore this follows NOT the blueprint and is error.] (Eph. 5:19; Col. 3:16-17; Heb.2:12; 1 Cor. 14:15) 3. PRAYER; (Acts 2:42; Luke 18:1; 1Thes.5:17) [No New Testament scripture nor example for Rosaries or Hail Mary, therefore, it follows not the blueprint, and is error; 1 Tim 2:5 For there is one God, and (1)one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.(KJV)] Definition (1)one mediator-3316 mesites; from 3319; a go-between, i.e.an internunciator, or (by implication) a reconciler (intercessor): KJV— mediator. 4. PREACH. (Acts 20:7; 1Cor.15:1-4; Gal.1:6-12; 2Tim.4:2-5; 1Pet.1:22-25…etc.) [No New Testament scripture or example for preachers being paid just because they preached, but to be supported as they had needs, not wants, therefore it follows not the blueprint, and is
error; Acts 20:27-35]
5. GIVE; Now Concerning the Collection for the Saints, as you have prospered, and or purposeth. [No example of tithing or pledging found in the Apostles doctrine or command, therefore, it follows not the blueprint of the Church that Christ is building, and is error.] (Acts 20:32-35; 1Cor.16:1-3; 2Cor. 8:11-15; 9:7) Not only must one worship, according to the Apostles doctrine, one must also live according to their doctrine, adding to their faith (2Pet.1:1-11). Contrary to what is taught in the religious world today, this world is a Christian’s WORK PLACE, and one must labour to enter into the rest of eternal life (Phil.2:12-16; Heb.4:9-12; James 2:17-26). Just as the Lord and saviour Jesus Christ, and those that followed him. A true Christian’s Lifestyle is one of labouring, necessities, suffering to obey, and to NOT LOVE the WORLD, NIETHER THE THINGS that are in IT (Luke 4:5-8; John12:25-26; 1John 2:14-17). Let us remember, these earthly sufferings are nothing compared to the great reward that is promised, which is eternal life, if we (1) faint not (Gal.6:7-10). Definition: (1) faint not-to relax; weaken; or grow weary. The reward of eternal damnation, is equally as great, and is promised to those of us, who chose to be disobedient, and rebellious; doing things our way, and not by the blueprint of New Testament scripture. The blueprint drawn up by Christ, given to the Apostles through the Holy Ghost for us to follow circumspectly: “Matt 19: 21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. 22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions. 23 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. 24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.” Luke 6:24 But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.(KJV) John 12:25 He that (1)loveth his life shall lose it; and he that (2)hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. 26 If any man serve me, (3)let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if
any man serve me, him will my Father honour.(KJV)
Definitions: (1)loveth his life5368 phileo (fil-eh’-o); from 5384; to be a friend to (fond of [an individual or an object]), i.e. have affection for (denoting personal attachment, as a matter of sentiment or feeling; specifically, to kiss (as a mark of tenderness), 1) to love a) to approve of b) to like c) to sanction d) to treat affectionately or kindly, to welcome, to befriend 2) to show signs of love; to kiss 3) to be fond of doing; to be accustomed to, used to doing (something): KJV— kiss, love. (2)hateth his life in this world-3404 miseo (mis-eh’-o); from a primary misos (hatred); to detest (especially to persecute); by extension, to love less: KJV— hate (ful). (3)let him follow me-190 akoloutheo (ak-ol-oo-theh’-o); from 1 (as a particle of union) and keleuthos (a road); properly, to be in the same way with, i.e. to accompany (specially, as a disciple), 1) to follow one who precedes, join him as his attendant, accompany him 2) to join one as a disciple, become or be his disciple: to side with his party: KJV— follow, reach. Acts 20:32 And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified. 33 I have coveted no man’s silver, or gold, or apparel. 34 Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me. 35 I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive. Rom 12:16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. 17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.(KJV) Rom 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. 20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. 21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.(KJV)

WHAT IS TRUTH? ONE FAITH, IS CHRIST DIVIDED? 1 Cor 6 Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?(KJV) 2 Cor 4:16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; 18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.(KJV) Gal 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. 9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. 10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.(KJV) Eph 5:8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: 9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) 10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. 11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. 12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. 13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. 14

Let us all be one in name, doctrine and traditions, which can be found in the apostles’ doctrine, thereby making us all speak the same things, having no division among us. This was Christ’s Prayer in John the 17th chapter. Let us all be of the one Church of, and by Christ. The one He said he would build (Matt.16:12-18), purchased (Acts20:28; 1Cor.6:19-20 and 7:23), the one faith, the one spirit, the one name, which is Christ. Christ the one body, HIS BODY; the one that he is the HEAD of. The one for which HE lived a life of SUFFERING and DIED FOR; and is yet building (Acts2:47). Again: CHRIST, CHRIST, CHRIST, CHRIST, CHRIST. Let us do this before it is everlasting too late. Let us listen to the apostle Paul (Eph.3: 1-5), as we have been commanded to do. As we read, he tells us as he told those in Corinth, to examine ourselves whether we are in THE faith, not in A faith. “2 Cor 13:5 (1)Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; (2)prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be (3)reprobates?” Definitions: (1)Examine yourselves-3985 peirazo (pi-rad’zo); from 3984; to test (objectively), i.e. endeavor, scrutinize, discipline: KJV— assay, exam-
ine, go about, prove, tempt (-er), try. (2)prove your own selves1381 dokimazo (dok-im-ad’zo); from 1384; to test (literally or figuratively); by implication, to approve: KJV— allow, discern, examine, X like, (ap-) prove, try. (3)reprobates-96 adokimos (ad-ok’-ee-mos); from 1 (as a negative particle) and 1384; unapproved, i.e.rejected; by implication, worthless (literally or morally): KJV— castaway, rejected, reprobate. Let this not be our end, please read: Matt 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. 15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.(KJV) Matt 7:21 ot every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. 24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: (KJV) Again the purpose of these articles is to share with you some scriptural truths; thereby exposing error, which is false doctrine. We believe through definitions, and the preponderance of scripture which is (Having superior weight, force, importance, or influence of scripture), allows SCRIPTURE to INTERPRET SCRIPTURE, thereby allowing a better understanding on that topic. Christian, the most misapplied, misused and abused name, on the face of the earth! E-mail Address: bibletruth1@sbcglobal.net Fax #: (281) 987-9703

DUNCANVILLE LADY PANTHERETTES WINS STATE TITLE AGAIN WITH PERFECT 42-0 MARK By King Arthur Prayther A King-Size View Austin, Texas-The Lady [antherettes of Duncanville just completed a great 42-0 season as they turned back Cibolo Steele 59-36. Led by the sensational Kiara Perry who had 20 points to lead all scorers the Lady Pantherettes wasted no time in jumping out to 33-14 half time lead. Perry went on to win the Cass 5A Most Valuble Playe on her efforts that included 1three rebounds to lead the game in that category as well. All over the floor on both ends, Perry made it clear Steele was not going to get but one shot as she grabbed 12 defensive rebounds in the win. Having beaten Clear Springs 64-40 in the semi-final Duncanville was clearly the better team as Steele could do very little with the exception for Calvert McKenzie who had 19
points and 11 rebounds in the loss. Another outstanding job by Coach Cathy Self-Morgan and her staff and they clearly are a cut above all other in Class 5A girls’ basketball. Fact is they just might be back again next season. In Class 4A it was Georgetown over Dallas Lincoln 65-60 while the Class 3A title went to Mexia a 69-62 winner over Kennedale. In Class 2A the title went to Brock who beat Merkel 40-32 while the Class A crown went to Martin Mill winners of a thriller over Smyer 49-46. The Class A Division II title went to Whitharral who eat Saltillo 4536. Fort Bend Christian had their best season ever as they made all the way the TAPPS state tournament before losing to Lubbock Trinity Christian 75-34.

TRAVIS EDGED BUSH IN THEIR 4TH MEETING 61-53 By King Arthur Prayther A King-Size View Fort Bend Travis kept their dreams alive when they turned back a hard fighting Fort Bend Bush 61-53. The win gave Travis their second Region III boys Class 5A title. Andrew Harrison led the way with 32 points including 17 in the fourth period. The Tigers won for the 31st time against five losses with the win and went off to state again. By the time the fourth period begun Travis was
up 36-26 forcing an uphill climb for Bush. The Broncos came out of their zone and this allowed Andrew Harrison a chance to go to the basket and got to the foul line. Bush who many feel will be back again this year could never catch up despite closing the gap to three points on several occasions. Bush had won the three previous meeting of the
two teams but Travis won when it counted the most. Junior Kelly Oubre slammed down 18 points while Brandon Jones ripped the nets for 16 points and Shawn Dre Jones sank four treys on his way to 15 points, but it wasn’t enough. With Kelly and Brandon coming back you know Bush will be back again.

Tip #8 I’m sure over the last several months you’ve taken the tips I’ve given you incorporated them into your daily life. Well, it‘s time to work on your onetwo punch: goals and confidence! You can start with a daily plan, set small obtainable goals that
you can accomplish during your day then work up to a threemonth plan, one-year, five-year, etc… when you break your plan down into small obtainable intervals you’re not setting yourself up for failure and when you see your goals are being accom-
plished it will increase your confidence not only in your plan but also in yourself.
goals (the keyword being YOUR goals) you will begin to build your confidence.
Confidence is not about being arrogant or a perfectionist or about how other people perceive you however; it is about accepting yourself for who you are and where you are currently in life. We tend to worry about what people are saying about us or why we don’t have that nice car, house or family that our friends have. Always be appreciative for what you have now then set your sights on achieving your
People often think that confidence is a sexy dress and high heels or a nice suit and a briefcase and that’s not true, you can walk into a room as though the wind is blowing through your hair, dressed in a tee shirt, sweats with a fabulous smile and draw people to you! When you are genuine and have a positive attitude it’s almost as sexy as having on a mini skirt and
Page 23
pumps…notice I said almost! Finally, always make every meeting count you never know who you’ll encounter, a simple conversation in the grocery store line could possibly help you achieve one of the goals you’ve set for yourself. Goals and Confidence are a winning combination!
Remember greet each day with the assurance that today is your day.

Email - king-ads@hotmail.com The Way I See It By BIG John Chandler STILL WAITING ON ONE GOOD EXCUSE Austin, Texas-Attending the Texas Vasketball Championships for most of my adult life, has been a time where I reflect on some of the biggest issues facing high school sports. I look at the nation besides Texas and trust me there are a quite a few issues that if improvements are made, could make high school sports so much better. But as I watched the Texas finals in basketball the same issue I talked about years ago still is the biggest issue. In fact it’s beginning to hurt the game on the high school level. I’m going to make even more enemies but who cares, I’m going to day it even louder than bedore. A SHOT CLOCK MUST BE IMPOSED. I don’t care what administrators, coaches, fans and/or players say. The game has become boring and general interest in high school basketball has dropped. Some scoring totals could make you think you’re watching a game in the 1940’s. Coaches spread the floor and play a ‘four corners’ type offense that waste nearly two minutes before any type of offensive movement towards the goal is attempted. It’s just hard to watch. I can’t stand it anymore and I will scream shot clock every chance I get. So Mr. Basketball Know-
It-All I will grant you one more chance. Please tell me why a shot clock is not needed for high school basketball, I am willing to accept a sixty second clock. A shot clock didn’t radically change college basketball a great
deal and trust me it won’t change high school basketball that much either. You say it will hurt coaches trying to teach basketball to their young athletes. I thought that’s what they were doing. Holding a basketball for over two minutes and not implementing any offensive plays is teaching basketball? Running up and down the floor us not the game of basketball. I’ll quote one of best coaches of all time, John Wooden who said years ago ‘speed kills’. Older fans in Texas remember those Houston Wheatley teams after full inyergration in Texas in 1967. The
excitement they generated in thr warmips was unlike anything most people had seen in the general population. Those Wheatley teams never and I repeat never needed a shot clock. Former Wilcats coach Jackie Carr told me if his team scored over 100 points (remember no shot clock) he felt confident they would win the game. No need to wonder Mr. Know-It-All they mostly did win. Does anyone find any thrills watching a team score 26 points by halftime of a game and are the leading scoring team? I’m still waiting on one excuse that says no to a shot clock. All

we get is the same tired reasons for not having the clock. But I believe the real reason for knocking a shot clock is simply some coaches just don’t know what a real basketball game is all about. Translation: if I score one more point than my opponet does, I win the game. You score points and defend the opponrnt from scoring is very simple to understand and the job of a xoach is to teach that skill to his players. I may never hear that one excuse, but I’ll still waiting to hear just one. That’s just the way I see it!

THE 62ND RUNNING OF THE TSU RELAYS By King Arthur Prayther A King-Size View The 62nd running of the Texas Southern University Relays lived up its billing just as it has for more than six decades. People filled into the Alexander Durley Sports Complex and watched as the record fell. With some strong wins swirling on the track some of the marks had to be wind aided. So was the 100 meters for high school boys as Cameron Burrell of Fort Bend Ridge Point bolted to a 10.25 in the event with a wind aid of 2.8 but it was still good enough for him to add to his already nation’s best time.
Owens and Rushell Harvey taking the event. But right behind them was Dallas Lancaster with Alexus Flores, Alecia Harris, Adrianna Berkhalter and Taylor Rockwell doing the honors.
In the hurdles it was Beaumont Ozen’s Tony Brown in a photo finish as the Golden Triangle continues to roll in the hurdles. If you recall Jamaal Charles of Port Arthur Memorial dominated
the hurdles before going off to University of Texas to play football and is now playing for the Kansas City Chiefs in the National Football League.
One of the best 800 meters girls’ runners in the country was also at the TSU Relays. She’s Raevyn Rogers of Kinkaid High School. Please see our Fiesta Student of the Week for more on this outstanding student athlete.
The Lady Panthers of Prairie View did their thing as Terracia Moody did her thing in the open quarter. The women of PV also took several relay events with Sylvonna Thompson, Kelsi Alexander, Ugonna Okpala and Terracia Moody teaming up. On the high school girls it was Fort Bend Bush Lady Broncos taking the mile relay with Jennifer Arinze, Jarra and Jalana
