AS SOMEONE WHO SPENDS MOST OF THEIR DAY AT A KEYBOARD TYPING FOR WORK OR STREAMING TV SHOWS IN THE EVENING, HAVING A KEYBOARD AND MOUSE SET UP THAT IS FUNCTIONAL AND GETS THE JOB DONE IS ESSENTIAL – THERE’S NOTHING WORSE THAN A LAGGY MOUSE WHEEL OR KEYS THAT DON’T RESPOND. HOWEVER, MANY KEYBOARDS ON THE MARKET THAT WORK WELL ARE OFTEN EITHER BORING TO LOOK AT AND DON’T FIT MY DESK AESTHETIC, OR THEY’RE WILDLY EXPENSIVE AND I CAN’T JUSTIFY THE PRICE. THEREFORE, I WAS SUPER EXCITED WHEN I GOT THE CHANCE TO REVIEW ONE OF LOGITECH’S POP ICON COMBO KEYBOARD AND MOUSE SETS, WHICH PROVIDE YOU WITH A COMPLETE WORKING SETUP THAT ALSO COMES IN SOME SUPER CUTE COLOURWAYS! PLUS, WHAT MAKES A BETTER GIFT THIS VALENTINE’S DAY THAN A SUPER CUTE, YET FUNCTIONAL KEYBOARD AND MOUSE SET-UP!
The keyboard and mouse we got to test out was the rose and off-white colourway, which features a lovely baby pink colour across the mouse and keyboard, with darker pink and white accents across the keys too. The overall look is super adorable, and as someone with a pink desktop, it fits right in! Looking first at the keyboard, I was majorly impressed with just how thin and quiet it was. I’ve been using a mechanical keyboard recently, which whilst satisfying to click, is a little noisy. So, when I started typing on the Pop Icon Keyboard, I was super impressed with just how silent each keystroke was. The
wireless keyboard features a more compact size compared to traditional keyboards, with the full number panel removed, but this means that the keyboard would be ideal for taking with you on the go. I personally think it would be ideal for carrying in a laptop bag due to its lightweight and compact nature so you can work from just about anywhere with ease.
One of the major perks of the keyboard is that you can customize it to your needs, with dedicated action keys for things such as ‘work mode’ or ‘break mode’. I loved that I could program the keyboard to automatically launch my emails and workflow ready to get started for the day with just the hit of an action key. Then, when my lunch break came, I could hit my programmed action key for ‘break mode’ which launched YouTube and Netflix for me. I loved the personalised nature of this and the focus on having separate work and break time – ideal for
helping to reduce burnout and remaining productive during the rest of the day! To program this in, you just need to download the Logi Options+ App on your desktop or device, which is where you can easily set action keys to your preferences to make the keyboard personalised to your needs. The mouse comes in a lovely twotone pink, which looks the part alongside the matching pink keyboard. The Pop Icon Mouse is compact and is designed to fit snugly in the palm of your hand. I was most impressed with just how quiet it is because the scroll wheel and mouse click are almost silent thanks to Logitech’s SilentTouch technology. This ensures that every click is whisper quiet, and as someone who works in a quiet office or co-working space often, a mouse that does not cause a distraction with its obnoxious clicking is always a big win for me! Plus, the mouse features a SmartWheel which makes it even quicker to flick down pages so you can fly through
documents or websites, without it lagging behind and taking forever to scroll to the bottom of the page.
Pairing the two devices with your laptop or device is pretty simple thanks to the Bluetooth connection each one has to your device. I found they were picked up easily and quickly were ready to work. The POP Icon Combo is compatible with a variety of devices using Bluetooth low energy connectivity, meaning it functions with many older devices. Some of these devices include Windows PCs with Windows 10 or later, Macs with MacOS12 or later, as well as devices running Linux, ChromeOS, iPadOS 15 or later, iOS 13.4 or later, and Android 12 or later.
However, as both the keyboard and mouse require Bluetooth to connect to your device over a wired connection, they may not be compatible with all older model desktops that do not support any Bluetooth connection. For this reason, I would have liked to see a wired connection or dongle available that could be used in situations where Bluetooth compatibility may not be present. I will also note that both the mouse and keyboard come with pre-installed batteries, which aim to deliver 3 years of battery life with the keyboard and 2 years of battery with the mouse. Whilst this provides a great long life span per battery, the batteries will need to be replaced every couple of years as the units themselves are not rechargeable which is an ongoing cost.
Overall, the Logitech Pop Icon Combo Keyboard and Mouse make a
perfect set-up for working on the go, with each unit being lightweight whilst remaining super functional. My only slight gripe would be that there is no wired option with either, which could cause some complications if your device doesn’t and off-white, orange and off-white, and black and green, alongside the rose and off-white colourway, you are sure to find a set-up that works with your particular working aesthetic without sacrificing price or functionality.

I’VE LONG BEEN A BIG FAN OF A MECHANICAL KEYBOARD, AND I ACTUALLY USE ONE EVERY SINGLE DAY FOR WORK. I LOVE THE SATISFYING KEY-CLICK FEELING; HOWEVER, IT CAN GET A LITTLE NOISY WHEN IN A QUIET OFFICE ENVIRONMENT. THE NOISE IS SOMETHING THAT EVEN MY COWORKERS HAVE NOTED, SAYING THAT WHEN I’M TYPING FAST IT DOES SOUND LIKE A HAMSTER RUNNING ON A WHEEL! THEREFORE, WHEN I HEARD ABOUT THE EPOMAKER HACK 59 MECHANICAL KEYBOARD WHICH HAS BEEN DESIGNED TO DAMPEN THE SOUND OF THE KEYS, WHILST STILL PROVIDING YOU WITH A SATISFYING TYPING FEEL I HAD TO GIVE IT A GO.
The Hack 59 Mechanical Keyboard is compact, roughly 60% the size of a traditional keyboard, providing you with 59 keys. This means that a typical number panel on the left and some keys including the arrow keys have been removed. The smaller size is designed to simplify the typing experience providing a more minimalistic approach to your office set-up. I’ve used a compacted keyboard for a while, so switching to this wasn’t too much of an issue, but if you’re used to a traditional-sized keyboard the more compact movements can take a little getting used to. However, I found that once you get the hang of it, the reduced size makes it much more efficient for typing, and with much less movement for your hands across the keys it makes it surprisingly more comfortable for long typing or gaming sessions. Plus, with a reduced size, the keyboard saves on desk space and makes it the ideal keyboard for taking with you on the go. However, possibly the most interesting thing about the Hack 59’s design is the 5-layer sound dampening gasket structure, which features Poron Sandwich Foam, IXPE Switch Pads, Sound Enhancement Pads, Poron Switch Socket Pads, and Bottom Silicone Pads. Each of these layers helps to reduce excess keystroke sound and makes each click less harsh than a typical mechanical keyboard. The sound dampening was surprising, as it still had a small click
with each key, but they were softened so they didn’t travel too far – brilliant for my coworkers! After using the keyboard for a few weeks, they were impressed with how much better the sound was, and I was happy with how comfortable yet satisfying each keystroke was – a very happy medium for a mechanical keyboard enthusiast and a quiet office environment!

I’VE LONG BEEN INTERESTED IN TESTING OUT A SPLIT KEYBOARD AS THEY BOAST TO PROVIDE A MORE COMFORTABLE TYPING EXPERIENCE AS YOU CAN ADJUST AND POSITION EACH SECTION TO HOW YOU NATURALLY SIT. AS SOMEONE WHO SPENDS MOST OF THE DAY TYPING WHETHER FOR WORK OR FOR GAMING, HAVING A COMFORTABLE SETUP IS ESSENTIAL, AND WITH THE SPLIT 65 I FINALLY GOT TO PUT THIS KEYBOARD DESIGN TO THE TEST.
The EPOMAKER Split 65 provides 68 keys in a split Ergo Alice layout. The keyboard is split, as the name suggests, into two pieces, allowing you to position each half slightly apart and at varying angles, perfect for your natural typing position. This is great, especially when traditional keyboards are laid out in a straight fashion, as this ensures there is less movement between keys to reduce wrist strain for a more comfortable typing experience over time. However, should you want to use the keyboard in the traditional style, the two parts magnetise together so it can be used or even stored in a more compact format, depending on your preferences.
After using the keyboard for a few weeks, I did notice that the split keyboard did take a little getting used to as I’ve got used to always hitting certain keys with certain fingers, and so when these were sometimes on the opposite half. However, with a little practice, I really started to love the layout and found it just
as easy to use as any other keyboard. Whilst I’ve only tested the keyboard for a few weeks, I did find the split design helped make typing for long work hours, or late-night gaming sessions a little more comfortable. Whilst I’ve never found typical keyboards uncomfortable, the split means you have to move your wrists less, which I’m sure is making a good difference overall!

The EPOMAKER TH99 Mechanical Keyboard spans an 1800 layout that is 95% of a traditional keyboard, making it a little more compact keyboard than typical, but still including a full number pad and 8 separate function keys. I really enjoyed the feel of the keyboard, as each key had a satisfying click without being too loud. Plus, whilst I found the keys were perfect for my needs straight from the box, you can also swap keys out thanks to their hotswappability to take your personalisation just that one step further and build a unique keyboard designed to meet your specific working or gaming needs. However, even with such a complex yet ergonomic design across the keys, the overall look of the keyboard remains super sleek. The one we tested out has a pale blue base, with large white, light blue and dark blue keys. All of the keys are supported by dynamic RGB backlighting, with 102 south-facing LEDs per key, providing an attractive and aesthetic appearance to the keyboard. I loved the look of the keyboard on my desk, as it’s a nice change from the typical black or grey keyboards that many brands do. Plus, with its
tri-mode connectivity either via a type-c cable, Bluetooth 5.0 or a 2.4GHz wireless receiver, the keyboard fits seamlessly into my desk setup without the need for extra wires supported by its innovative 4000mAh battery. However, should you need to charge it, the wire is super long and easily slots into the keyboard, so you never miss out on being productive or playing a game due to an out-of-charge keyboard!

WE SPEND SO MUCH OF OUR LIVES AT WORK, IT SEEMS SILLY NOT TO FOCUS ON ENSURING THAT OUR BACKS, NECKS AND CORE ARE BEING SUPPORTED AND STRENGTHENED DURING THIS TIME. Straight out of the box, the Fluidstance Level Balance Board had a light wood effect top-deck standing board, with a military grade aluminium die-case base. The board, no more than the size of a skateboard, looks sleek and is minimalist in design. Plus, there are two colour options available, with a walnut finish option in addition to the light wood - perfect for finding one that works with the aesthetics of your existing desk setup.
The balance board is designed to help strengthen and stabilize your body through the micro-movements required to maintain your balance on the board. Through these small movements, you can help encourage fluidity in your joints, strengthen your core, burn calories, and also remain more alert during tasks to breeze your way through your to-do lists. The Level Balance Board can take a little getting used to, as you have to try and maintain your balance through small movements to stay stable, but after a few uses, it’s super easy.
After a few weeks with the Fluidstance Level Balance Board, it’s clear that it’s a well-made unit that does everything it says it will. It sits under my standing desk and once stood on helps you to practice stabilising your core, which after a while of getting lost in work you do start to forget you’re even stood on it. In terms of ergonomics, the board only raises you up roughly 3 inches, so you’re not super high, and with a standing desk that you can adjust, you
just have to raise it up a tiny bit higher than if you were just standing. Whilst I wouldn’t say I’ve noticed a massive shift in my core stability or joint fluidity, I’m sure the effects long-term must be good for my body and especially my posture. However, the Fluidstance website does say that research conducted by a third party on 400 Level Balance Board users found that the majority felt more comfortable and productive after using the board for a week, with 83% of them feeling happier in general from using the board.
Ultimately, if you’re interested in testing out a balance board to take your desk set-up to the next level, you can’t go wrong with the Fluidstance Level Balance Board. It delivers everything it says it will in a sleek, minimalist and premium-feeling design. I love the look of the board under my desk, and it’s nice having the option to enhance my posture, and engage my core often unconsciously whilst getting my work done.

Straight out of the box, I was impressed by the Raise Monitor Riser by Fluidstance with its sleek yet minimalist white exterior. The entire unit is made from heavy-duty recycled steel and finished in white, forming a premium monitor riser that adds just under 5 inches to your monitor’s height.
I loved how simple the design was, which once sat on your desk can hold your monitor screen securely up above your desk. This is ideal for two reasons; the first is that your desktop monitor should be higher up so you aren’t hunching over it, and so, by raising your monitor up, you can help support a better posture for a more comfortable and ergonomic working experience. We actually got to test out one of the Flow Panels (£47), which slots into the Raise Monitor Riser and provides a vertical, magnet-friendly surface where you can add Fluidstance’s Flow Cards or other magnetic items. The Flow Cards have a dry-erase surface, providing you with a great place where you can write down quick notes to remember. I love the addition of the Flow Panel because it helps enhance your productivity and keep magnetic things stored securely. The Flow Panel we tested was finished in the same white metal design (however, other colours are available), making them super seamless with the entire Raise Monitor Riser set-up.
Every single detail across the Raise Monitor Riser and the various accessories created by Fluidstance has been taken into consideration. EVERY YEAR WHEN PACKING FOR A TRIP, I’VE NOTICED MY TECHNOLOGY AND CABLE CASE CONTINUING TO GROW. EVERY SINGLE DEVICE SEEMS TO HAVE A SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT CHARGING CABLE, EVEN IF MOST ARE FINALLY STARTING TO SHIFT TOWARDS A MORE UNIVERSAL USB-C CHARGING OPTION. HOWEVER, WITHOUT GOING OUT AND BUYING ALL NEW DEVICES WHICH ALL HAVE USB-C CHARGING PORTS, MANY OF US ARE LEFT NEEDING MULTIPLE WIRES UNTIL THOSE UPGRADES ARE SLOWLY MADE. CONNEX NOTICED THIS GROWING CONCERN AND SO CREATED THE CONNEX ALL-IN-ONE CABLE ADAPTER HUB WHICH PROVIDES ALMOST EVERY CHARGING CONNECTION NEEDED TO CHARGE YOUR DEVICES IN A SINGLE FOLDED-IN UNIT. .
The Connex Adapter Hub came in a lovely green colour, with all the charging inputs and output cables tucked inside. The Adaptor Hub is like that of a multi-tool, and each of the charging connector arms can be folded out with ease. The connector features a USB-C and USB-A input, designed for maximum compatibility with most devices. Then for its outputs, the unit has a USB-C, Micro USB, and two lightening cables one at 4A and the other at 2A. The hub even includes a USB-A converter for additional compatibility. The USB-C output is also ideal for lightning charging and data transfer, which is something often only seem in higher specification cables and so made a great addition to the Adaptor Hub.
I love the functionality of the unit, with almost every port you could need all located in one compact unit, which features a
little loop at the top to attach it to your keys – ideal for using on the go. My only slight issue with the Connex Adapter Hub is that, unlike a traditional wired connection, you have to stay closer to the power source as the connection is only as long as the length of the Adaptor Hub. This short connection length makes it ideal for taking with you on the go but can make charging a little inconvenient when you have to keep your device super close to the power source.
In terms of charging, the Adaptor was super helpful and does cut down on the need for charging cables. In terms of charging speeds, the cable is not as fast as my traditional wired connections, but for charging in a pinch or whilst on the go it’s a great addition to your set up – and saves a ton of space when packing for a trip!

My only reservation with getting a baby carrier was knowing where to start with so many on the market, as I wanted one which was soft and breathable for the upcoming warmer months but still provided the maximum safety and support to keep my baby safe whilst on the go. Therefore, I was thrilled when I got the chance to test out the Middle-Earth Ink Bairn Baby Carrier from Oscha Slings, which is soft, supportive and super easy to put on – even in a rush!

We got to test out the Bairn Baby Carrier, in the Middle-Earth Ink design inspired by The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. As a big fan of Lord of the Rings, I was extra excited about the design, which is subtle, but for the keen-eyed LOTR fan, you can’t miss the
brilliant map design. Aside from the cool map design, the material is super soft and made from organic cotton, which is perfect for sensitive skin whilst still being firm enough to support your child’s back. Every baby carrier is made in Scotland with top-quality materials and designs, which is a nice change from the often cheaper-feeling baby carriers on the market. The overall look and feel of the Bairn Baby carrier was great, I loved how the pattern is subtle enough to wear with almost any outfit whilst also being soft yet supportive for use on the go.
Putting on the baby carrier for the first time did take a little more manoeuvring than usual, but thankfully, there are plenty of videos on the Oscha Slings website which show you how to put each one on whilst keeping your baby safe. The full buckle baby carrier goes on like an apron, securing around you with a thick and supportive band with a buckle to click it into place. Where you wear the carrier on your body determines how long the body panel is, so the higher you put it, the smaller the body panel will be, which is ideal for newborns but can then also be fastened lower to adjust with your kid as it grows. This adjustability makes the carrier great as an investment piece to carry your child from the newborn stage up until they’re a toddler.
Once you have the apron-style band around you, you can gently sit your child in the carrier with their legs in the usual ‘m’ position to support their hips and pull the back panel up to the nape of their neck. From there, you throw each of the straps over your shoulders, cross them at the back and clip them into the buckles on each side. My favourite part was that once you had done up the side buckles, they could easily be adjusted to tighten for a secure fit by just pulling the adjuster straps forward. This made it super easy to get a secure fit for both you and baby without having to fiddle with difficultto-reach straps. Once everything was tightened, I was impressed with how secure it all felt, and the shoulder
straps were nice and wide with mouldable padding, so they didn’t dig in at all and provided a wide and comfortable area of support for carrying around your child all day. Plus, I even loved that the back panel has a hood, which you can attach to the shoulder strap on either side to provide extra support or some coverage against the sun whilst out and about.
The overall feel of the baby carrier was great; the material was soft yet sturdy, and after a few attempts of putting it on, I could do it with ease – ideal for when trying to get everyone out the door on time! With the material being lightweight and flexible, it will be great for the upcoming summer months to keep you and your child cool yet supported. Plus, it’s so flexible that you can fold it down well to take with you on the go, which I know

The Peak Design Micro Clutch features a Hypalon finger loop, which allows you to hook through a few fingers to provide a greater grip on your camera when shooting. The straps for larger DSLR cameras are built to support the weight of the camera and press your palm against your camera body for added stability. However, many mirrorless cameras do not have the space for such a bulky camera strap. Instead, they work best with a smaller cradle-style loop which provides a better grip on your camera, without overtaking the smaller exterior.
I really liked the feel of the Micro Clutch when using my camera, as it adds an extra bit of security when moving about and steadying each shot, without being too bulky or getting in the way. The strap feels sturdy and is made from a microfibre moisturewicking pad which ensures all-day comfort when shooting for long hours. Plus, I love how securely it fits onto my camera, with a solid base plate and top attachment so I never have to worry about it coming off and potentially dropping my camera!
The Micro Clutch has two different versions to ensure that the clutch is perfectly designed for your camera model. The L-plate version is designed for cameras which have a hand grip protruding more than 3 cm. However, if you have a more streamlined camera model with no hand grip, the I-Plate is the perfect choice. I will say it can be a little fiddly to attach the Micro Clutch as the fittings are quite tight, but this ensures a better and more secure fit. Additionally, should you want to attach your camera to a tripod, you simply just use the included tripod plate, which is compatible
with Capture V3, PD Tripods and thirdparty Arca setups. Plus, the strap has a magnetically integrated removal tool, which enables quick battery changes without hassle which is great for shooting on the go.
Aside from providing great stability and security to holding your camera, the entire base plate is made from recycled anodized aluminium and is 100% carbon neutral. The sustainability aspect of the design highlights Peak Design’s commitment to ethical manufacturing and environmental responsibility.

LOGITECH PRO X 2 LIGHTSPEED WIRELESS GAMING HEADSET (PINK)
WITH VALENTINE’S DAY JUST AROUND THE CORNER, IT IS THE PERFECT TIME TO TREAT YOUR LOVED ONES WITH A SPECIAL GIFT THAT SHOWS JUST HOW MUCH YOU LOVE THEM. ME AND MY PARTNER ARE HUGE GAMERS, AND ONE OF OUR FAVOURITE DATE NIGHT ACTIVITIES IS PLAYING A VIDEO GAME TOGETHER. WE ALWAYS SET UP A CALL AND CAN THEN CHAT WHILST WE PLAY GAMES EITHER COOPERATIVELY OR COMPETITIVELY. My first impression of the PRO X 2 LIGHTSPEED Headset is that it is beautiful in a lovely bright pink colourway, with shiny pink hardware on the outside of the ear cups with minimalist Logitech branding on each. The ear cushions, top headband and head cushion also have the same bright pink colour. The ear cushions feel super soft and are made from memory foam for a super comfortable wearing experience, supported by sturdy yet flexible rotating hinges to the headband so you can get your headset position just right every time. In terms of aesthetics and overall construction, the headset looks and feels premium. The only aspect that I would adjust slightly would be
the microphone, which unlike the rest of the pink exterior is mostly black. I personally, would have loved the entire thing to have been the same pink for a completely monochromatic look – but this is my personal preference and doesn’t affect the functionality of the headset.
However, with any gaming headset, it all comes down to how it performs for the game audio, and how long the battery lasts for each use.
The first aspect of this, the audio, is incredibly premium – something that you definitely expect for the price. The PRO X 2 LIGHTSPEED Headset features 50mm graphene drivers, which deliver a more advanced audio experience designed to enhance the audio response, reduce distortion, and deliver unrivalled sound for gaming. Plus, I do like that the microphone can easily be taken out, so it doesn’t get in the way when I want to just use the headphones without chatting to anyone. However, as I’ve mentioned I’d have liked this to have also been completely pink to blend in with the overall look of the headset, but this is only a slight aesthetic preference. The overall look, feel and performance of the headset are super nice. I love how they look, they deliver great sound quality, and they don’t hurt my head during long gaming sessions. As a luxury gift for a loved one who is always gaming, this is a great treat. Although, due to the high price point, I do think these may be a little out of budget for many people, especially with other gaming headsets on the market today
which do provide a similar sound for a lower price point - although maybe not in such an aesthetic and premium way. However, for the great functionality, premium sound and lovely aesthetics, I think they’re worth the price to spoil a loved one (or yourself) this Valentine’s Day!

HITTING THE GYM IS ONE OF THE BEST PARTS OF MY WEEK, BUT I’D BE USELESS THERE WITHOUT MY PLAYLIST HELPING ME PUSH THROUGH EACH EXERCISE AND REACH MY GOALS. FOR THIS REASON, ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS IN MY GYM BAG IS A SET OF EARBUDS OR HEADPHONES TO KEEP MY SPIRIT AND MOTIVATION HIGH. THEREFORE, I WAS EXCITED TO GET THE CHANCE TO REVIEW JLAB’S GO SPORTS+ TRUE WIRELESS EARBUDS, WHICH ARE DESIGNED SPECIFICALLY FOR SPORTS.
The Go Sport+ Earbuds feature a sport ear hook design, which provides greater stability and security in your ear. I loved the hook design, as they felt very secure even during some tense HIIT workouts and cargo. I’ve previously found other earbuds that don’t have a hook can fall out easily, and with many of them being so small, I always worry about losing them in the gym or on the walk home if they’re dropped.
The earbuds we tested were in the solid black colourway, with the same monochromatic look across both the charging case and the earbuds. The earbuds have 9 hours of battery life, with a further 26+ hours in the charging case. I especially loved that the charging case has an integrated charging cable that clips into the base of the charging case. This means that you never have to worry about a charging cable and can plug directly into your plug or charging device. However, the cable is quite short which can make charging a little more difficult if your plug isn’t near a surface to rest the earbud case on.
The sound of the Go Sport+
True Wireless earbuds is pretty good, especially for the price. I loved having each earbud in while at the gym to drown out everyone around me and focus on each set. Whilst the sound may not necessarily stand up to some at a more luxury price point, they are impressive, especially for only £30. Plus, I like that they’re IP55 splashproof, which means you can use them at the gym without worrying about them getting a bit sweaty.
Whilst I personally love to block everyone out whilst at the gym, I still like to listen to music on my commute there, and for this I love the included ‘Be Aware’ mode. In this mode, you can still hear your music whilst also hearing people and traffic around you. This made me feel safer using the earbuds while on the go, as I could maintain a great awareness of my surroundings. Adjusting this mode and other controls for the earbuds can be accessed via the JLABs App. In the app, you can fully customise the controls to your needs and make the earbuds work even more for you.
Overall, the JLAB Go Sport+
True Wireless earbuds deliver a decent audio experience supported by a great hook design to make them the ideal earbuds for use when working out. The connectivity is great, and pairs quickly with your phone. At only £30, you’re getting a great pair of earbuds that will be a great companion for everyday gym sessions.

IN A LOUD AND BUSY WORLD, BEING ABLE TO FIND A MOMENT OF PEACE AND SERENITY CAN BE A REAL STRUGGLE. I PERSONALLY NEED QUIET TO FOCUS, AND SO WHEN I’M TRYING TO WORK, THAT QUIET TIME IS ESSENTIAL TO STAY PRODUCTIVE. HOWEVER, IN A BUSY OFFICE, QUIET TIME IS HARD TO COME BY, ESPECIALLY WITH THE COFFEE MACHINE OR KETTLE GOING, THE RADIO ON AND GENERAL CHATTER. I OFTEN FIND I CAN GET SUPER DISTRACTED, AND SO WHEN I GOT THE CHANCE TO TEST OUT THE LOOP QUIET 2 EARPLUGS, I KNEW I HAD TO JUMP ON IT.
The Loop Quiet 2 Earplugs are designed for deep focus, sleep and creating a calming zone by muffling unwanted outside noise and allowing you to focus. The earplugs, which are made of soft-touch silicone, fit comfortably in your ears, creating your own little quiet bubble for yourself to think, sleep or just feel calmer – especially in noisy situations. To achieve the perfect fit, the earplugs come with 4 different size ear tips, which means you can get the perfect size for a snug fit to get a good seal, which helps the earplugs block outside noise.
I love the feel of the earplugs. The silicone makes them super comfy to wear for long periods, and the flexibility of this means they’re even ideal for sleeping as they don’t press into your ears, even when sleeping on your side. I personally love a nap, and the Quiet 2 earplugs have been brilliant for this, as they block out my housemates or traffic outside so I can get a little bit of sleep on a particularly busy day. However, even in the office, they’ve been brilliant as they just help you focus on what you’re doing by muffling outside noise with 24dB (SNR) noise reduction. However, I found they aren’t completely noise cancelling, which for me is a big plus as it means if someone calls my name, I can still hear them whilst at work, or I can still hear my alarm when using them for sleep. This means I can enjoy the peaceful bubble they create without feeling completely dislocated from the world around me.
One of my other favourite uses of the Quiet 2 earplugs is using them for moments when the world feels a little overwhelming. In loud settings such as crowds or whilst on the train, the chaos of the world around me can be a little too much – especially first thing in the morning. So I’ve been reaching for the Quiet 2’s more often to help find a moment of calm and practice a little mindfulness. I already know these are going to be coming with me on every trip this summer to zone out other people on the plane and through airports to make travelling feel a little calmer so I can arrive rested and not super anxious from a long day of travelling.
I tested out the lilac colourway, which looks super pretty in both the case and your ears. The earplugs came with their own little travel case, which can be attached to your keys, so you never have to worry about forgetting them when you need zen time on the go. The case is super small and sleek, and the closing click is super secure, so you never have to worry about the small earplugs falling out whilst on the go. My only wish was that the white case that comes with the lilac earplugs was in a matching lilac for an even more pretty look on my keys!
If you’ve been thinking about trying the Loop Quiet 2 Earplugs, I can’t recommend them enough. They’re affordable at around £20 and can be reused over and over for many years, with a quick clean. If you want to create a little zen bubble that blocks out excessive outside noise and helps you focus on your present moment, then the Quiet 2 is a particularly great choice –especially for naps!

OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS, I’VE SEEN SO MANY ADS FOR LOOP EARPLUGS, AND I’VE BEEN TEMPTED TO GIVE THEM A GO TO HELP REMAIN FOCUSED AT WORK, PROTECT MY HEARING AT GIGS AND EVEN HELP CREATE A MORE PEACEFUL SETTING FOR DAY-TO-DAY LIFE. HOWEVER, KNOWING WHICH STYLE TO PICK FROM THE QUIET, TO ENGAGE, OR EXPERIENCE WAS A STRUGGLE BECAUSE I COULD SEE EACH ONE BEING USEFUL ACROSS DIFFERENT ASPECTS OF MY LIFE. THEN I SAW THAT LOOP HAD RELEASED THE SWITCH 2 STYLE, WHICH FEATURED ALL 3 OF THESE MODES IN A SINGLE EARPLUG UNIT. THEREFORE, WHEN I GOT THE CHANCE TO TEST OUT SOME LOOP EARPLUGS, I KNEW THE SWITCH 2 WERE THE SET I HAD TO PICK.
The Loop Switch 2 Earplugs feature 3 modes in one, which allow you to switch up your noise reduction based on your environment. The tiny earplugs are designed to sit snugly in your ear and are super easy to put in. You just place them in with the circle up and twist them back. Once in place, you can feel the innovative little switch on the ring of each earplug, which allows you to switch between the 3 modes. When the switch faces forward when worn, you are in the ‘Engage Mode’, which delivers 20dB (SNR) of noise reduction designed to help you enjoy conversations and daily life noises without feeling too overwhelmed. Then, moving the switch to the middle, you enter into the Experience Mode, which delivers 23dB of noise reduction and is focused on letting you experience fun events such as gigs whilst also protecting your hearing in the process. The final setting, accessed by moving the switch all the way to the back, allows you to experience the Quiet Mode, which has 26dB of noise reduction. The Quiet mode provides the most noise reduction, helping create a calm space away from the loud noises of everyday life.
I love how easy it is to switch between modes, as you can easily move the switch while the earplugs are already in your ears
without much effort. This means that there’s no removing them from your ears, so you can adjust your noise reduction based on your environment. I will say the difference between the Engage and Experience modes is the most subtle for me personally. There wasn’t a super noticeable change; however, between the Engage and Quiet, I noticed the largest difference. I’ve been loving using the Engage throughout my day when loud noises can get a little overwhelming. Then, when I’m working, I can switch to the Quiet mode and focus
in on my work tasks whilst effectively muffling outside noise by helping me to form a little calm bubble.
One of the main reasons I was first interested in Loop Earplugs to start with was the general noise reduction they offer to help you feel more at peace and turn down the noise when everything gets a little too much. I think for all of us, there are times when the world around just feels a little too loud and overstimulating, whether in large loud crowds or during events. Therefore, I’ve loved having the
Loop Switch 2 as a little helping hand to block out some of that noise and help me feel more grounded in the moment. However, I will say the first 10 minutes or so of using them can feel a little weird, but once you get used to them, I’ve been loving the peacefulness and comfort they’ve brought me in loud environments.
However, one of the other main reasons I was interested in the Switch 2 is that they have the Experience mode, alongside the Engage and Quiet. The Experience mode is designed specifically for loud environments, such as gigs or festivals, to provide hearing protection. Protecting your hearing is so important, and as someone who goes to many gigs a year, I worry that my hearing is being harmed by the super-loud environment. Therefore, I was so excited to take the Switch 2 to a gig to protect my hearing whilst still letting me enjoy the events. One of the main perks of the Experience mode is that the music at gigs isn’t dulled in any way. Instead, you can still hear the crisp sound of the instruments whilst knowing you’re protecting your hearing in the process. I loved that I could enjoy the music, knowing I was protecting my hearing, so I can enjoy many more gigs for many years to come.
Aside from the great modes, the Switch 2 earplugs also look super cool. I got to test out the Emerald green colourway, which features a lovely dark green colour across the travel carry case, with the earplugs inside in the same green, with a shiny chrome effect green on the back circle of each Switch 2 where
the switch adjuster is. The case is perfect for attaching to your keys or your bag, so you know that you always have them ready to go, no matter your environment. Plus, the case has a super secure click shut, which is great because you know your earplugs won’t fall out whilst on the go – great, especially when they are on the pricier side for earplugs.
So, do I think the Switch 2 is worth the purchase? As someone who loves to filter out noise when at work or during my daily life, attends multiple gigs a year and even likes to reduce external noise to bring a little calmness to my day in this very chaotic world, I do. I’ve used them in the office, on planes, at a concert, and even just going about my daily life to help reduce the noise of life. They’ve been brilliant for helping

However, I will say that the price is on the higher end for earplugs, but for the range of noise reduction settings, ease of use, and reusability, I personally think they’re worth the investment if you know you’re going to use all the modes in your daily life. However, if you know you won’t get use out of all the settings, Loop also have each of the modes in their own singular versions, which may be a more cost-effective way of trying Loop out for your specific needs.

One nice touch is that you can double click the power button during any of the modes to turn off any accompanying sounds if they are not helping you to relax.
Each setting is designed to encourage blood flow to help soothe eyes and relieve tension caused by eye strain whilst encouraging relaxation with a range of nature sounds. I wondered how the heat would feel, and whether it would feel too hot or a little uncomfortable. However, the heat and pressure together felt super relaxing, almost like a hug across my eyes, instantly making them feel calmer and more relaxed. The pressure did take a little getting used to as the Eye Massager across your eyes can feel a little strange at first, but it is so gentle that the pressure felt nice and comforting.

My current yoga mat is very plain and was a quick purchase before my first class a few years ago, but I’ve been thinking about investing in a new yoga mat that is beautiful and provides the perfect base for each of my poses. My main requirements were great grip, good quality soft material for knee support, and a beautiful calming pattern to make each session feel even more like a luxury self-care moment.
Therefore, I was glad to get the opportunity to test out a yoga mat from Middle-earth Yoga and, even more so, when the design I got to review was part of their Lord of the Rings-inspired collection! The yoga mat features a beautiful mountain range image symbolising The Lonely Mountain from the Lord of the Rings. I love the whimsical look of it really matches the fantasy vibe of the books, with ‘The Lonely Mountain’ written in the fantasy style scrolled writing along the top and bottom. The overall look of the mat was lovely, and as a LOTR fan it is hard not to love the design inspired by the books.
In terms of its functionality, the yoga mat was great for my flows, it supported me as I moved through each movement with a cushioned, yet sturdy base. The mat is made from a non-slip rubber, which is great for ensuring your stability and stopping you from slipping over even when a little sweaty. Plus, the 4.2mm thickness of the mat means you get a decent amount of cushioning under you, which is great for comfortability through each pose and provides extra support for your knees and wrists.
One of my favourite aspects was the larger-than-standard size, with the mat being 68cm by 185 cm. This larger size gives you more space to really stretch into each pose, and as someone who is already on the taller side, I could stretch out without my hands or feet ending up off the mat like with my current yoga mat. However, despite its larger size and premium feel, it is still remarkably lightweight at only 2.8kg. This means it is perfect for taking with me to the gym without the mat weighing me down or being too heavy to carry.
Overall, the Middle-earth Lonely Mountain Yoga Mat is beautifully designed and would be a big hit among Lord of the Rings fans, as well as those who just like the mystical look of the Lonely Mountain design. The premium materials make it perfect for keeping stable poses and avoiding slipping as you practice your flows. Plus, being super lightweight, you can take it to the gym, knowing you have your own little zen zone to get into the yoga mood.

The sports bra I got to test out was a red low to mediumimpact bra from Sensoria, which features a soft red moisturewicking fabric, with a black under-bust band with embedded electrodes and a heart rate monitoring option that snaps on the front. I liked the minimalist design, with just ‘Sensoria’ written on one side. Once on, the bra felt soft yet secure, however, the support it offers was on the lower end for me, so personally this would be more of a lower-impact option for yoga or walking than for high-impact cardio workouts. However, I’m sure this would depend on each user’s needs and support preferences. I liked the overall feel of the bra, and after wearing it for some light-intensity activities the material felt nice and breathable.
One of the main perks of the Sensoria Sports Bra is the heart rate monitor clip on the front under-bust band. The snaps are in a standard style, so are compatible with a whole range of heart rate
monitors, however, you can purchase the bra with Sensoria’s own Bluetooth Heart Rate Monitor. The heart rate monitor is like many I’ve tried before and was nice and lightweight, clipping super easily onto the front of the bra. It connects to your phone via Bluetooth and can then be used with the Sensoria app or other running or fitness tracking apps such as Runtastic, RunKeeper, or my personal favourite Strava. The connection was simple. You just wet the electrodes and once connected you get over 8 months of battery life from the heart rate monitor to record your heart rate during your workouts and physical activities.
The companion Sensoria app was easy to use and pair with the device, but even when I tested it out with my usual Strava app it was just as easy. The monitoring is super straightforward, and I found was a good way of tracking my heart rate through exercises to see how I was improving and areas where I might need to focus for future workouts. I loved that I just snapped it onto my sports bra, and didn’t need to fuss about an additional heart rate monitor strap which adds yet another thing to remember and wear during a workout. Instead, the Sensoria Heart Rate Monitor is super easy to use, clips on seamlessly, and I don’t have to think about it when I’m moving my body – something that makes gym sessions so much better for me!

Each bowl features a matching green lid, which can be interchanged among the dishes for convenience. The bowls are made from stone, so they provide even heat distribution when heating to ensure all dishes are cooked or reheated efficiently. Plus, as they’re nonporous, there’s no dreaded staining and odours like you’d get with plastic storage vessels. The beautiful stone, ours in the new lovely green jade colour, has been glazed to keep food fresh and safe from pollutants. This makes them ideal for BPA-free households.
I love that the bowls can be used in the fridge, freezer, microwave, and oven. I loved leaving leftovers in the bowls and then popping them directly into the oven to reheat them for lunch the next day. There was no worrying about finding a microwave-proof plate or dish; instead, I could just heat it straight away to save time during my lunch hour. My only comment is that they are quite heavy, so for me, they are only ideal for days when I’m working from home, as I wouldn’t take them into the office as they’re not super portable, as the lids aren’t sealable like you have with a standard plastic lunch box. However, one of my favourite things about the bowls is that each one has the same size lid because the size difference comes from the depth. This means that you never need to go searching for each specific lid and instead can put any of the lids on any bowl. This makes using the dishes even easier, and with each being the same size, they can all be stacked neatly on top of each other, which makes them perfect for storage whilst both in use and whilst in your cupboard.
The new green jade glaze colourway adds a beautiful and classy look to your kitchen during mealtime. I love using the dishes to serve directly at the table, but they also feel a little fancy for having delicious lunches during the week. Plus, the Hokan Bowls come in a whole range of colours, including antique white, pitch black, lemon yellow, cobalt blue, sea green, and blue reactive. Therefore, there are so many different colour options that you are sure to find an option that suits your aesthetics and kitchen.

This is where the Tormek T-1 Kitchen Knife Sharpener comes in, the first premium kitchen knife sharpener for the home.
The Tormek T-1 Kitchen Knife Sharpener has been designed by the Swedish brand Tormek, who have 50 years of expertise in tool sharpening for woodworkers and over 35 years in knife sharpening for commercial kitchens. Tormek introduced the T-1 Kitchen Knife Sharpener which is the first of its kind that sharpens the entire bevel of the knife to be razor sharp for easier and safer chopping for every meal.
Straight out of the box I was surprised with just how large and sturdy the knife sharper machine was, with a firm oak handle attached to the metal unit. The sturdy feeling makes it feel more solid and supported so you have even better control of your knife
through the sharpening process. This is a nice change compared to simpler sharpeners or honing steels which can feel more complicated or flimsy, whilst only targeting the very edge of the knife. So how do you sharpen your knife with the Tormek T-1 Kitchen Knife Sharpener? The first step of the process is to set the unit’s patented angle guide to the necessary angle. For many blades, a 17° angle is recommended on each side, but I found with a quick Google of my various knives I could find the recommended angle and set the machine
to this. Once you’ve chosen your angle and adjusted the knife clip, you then switch on the machine and gently place the knife into the clip positioning the whole blade in with the clip by the base of the blade near the handle. With slow and gentle pressure, you just press the knife down a little and gently guide the knife backwards and forwards against the diamond grinding wheel. With each pass-through, the fine-graded diamond sharpening wheel grinds against the blade producing burr. Burr is the rough edge that the sharpener
produces along the knife as it takes very small part shavings off the blade. I loved that these shavings are captured by the inbuilt magnet, to help prevent excessive from the process. Once you’ve reached your desired sharpening burr, you turn the machine and repeat the same on the other side of the knife.
You then are ready to hone the blade for that perfect super-sharp knife edge. In a similar way to the sharpening wheel, you just have to go slow and steady, allowing the honing wheel with integrated polish agents to help define the sharp edge of the blade. This process is meant to polish off the burr and reveal a super sharp edge ready for cutting even the most difficult ingredients.
I found with a little practice the whole process is pretty easy to do, but if you’ve never used a sharpener of this type, it can take a little getting used. I did find it took a minute to find the perfect angle and the amount of passes and pressure needed to sharper my knives efficiently. Plus, some of my more worn-out knives took a few more passes through as they were quite far off from their recommended angle. However, with a little patience, I was able to return even some of my oldest knives into useful sharp tools ready for dinner prep - that I’d no longer fear cutting myself due to the blunt edge slipping!
My overall impression of the Tormek T-1 Kitchen Knife Sharpener is that it provides a sturdy, secure and easy way to sharpen your knives backed by the years of expertise Tormek has
within the professional kitchen industry. Every aspect is top quality, and this gives great comfort when using the unit as you know it’s designed to deliver results. I can already tell that just from using the unit a few times on various different knives this is going to be a vital gadget in my kitchen ready to ensure every knife is sharp and safe. Whilst the initial price is quite significant, especially compared to other knife edge sharpers or honing steels, the durability and maintenance it will provide for your knives is sure to save you money in the long run. You’ll no longer need to replace your knives as often when they are past the point of sharpening, instead, you’ll be able to maintain your knives to last longer and deliver great sharpening for many years to come.

We tested out the green 15-fluid-ounce cup, which is the largest size that Wacaco offer in the Octaroma mug. The mug is a great size which was perfect for my morning latte, and the green exterior looked super nice, with a secure fitting grey-transparent lid. The mug is vacuum-insulated with double-walled stainless steel which makes it ideal for keeping hot drinks warm, and cold drinks icy. In the winter months, this means I can take my coffee to work and it’s still hot when get there. However, the mug will still be perfect for the summer to make iced coffees or cool drinks for those warm sunshine-filled days. Plus, as someone who likes to carry my drink in my bag, I love the leakproof lid as it fits super securely. I didn’t notice any leakage whilst I was using it.

I PERSONALLY THINK PICKING THE PERFECT CUP OR MUG IS PART OF THE OVERALL EXPERIENCE OF THE COFFEE, AND WHEN YOU GET THE PERFECT MUG, IT MAKES THE COFFEE EVEN BETTER. Straight out of the box, I noticed just how beautiful yet sturdy the glasses felt. The cups were neatly stacked together, with the smaller espresso cup sitting inside the slightly larger latte cup. Each one is made from 3.5mm thick soda lime glass which provides a sturdy feeling to the cups and ensures your drink stays warmer for longer so you can savour those last few drops. The bottom has a unique 8-sided design which is great for a comfortable fit in the palm of your hand, whilst also looking beautiful as you pour your coffee into them each day. The design aims to provide an all-round great sensory experience, to make every espresso or latte perfect to the very last sip.
I particularly liked that the stackable sizes mean that the smaller 60ml espresso cup fits neatly into the larger 200ml latte cup. These would make the perfect gift for a coffee lover to add to their coffee station as they look beautiful and are the perfect size to stack beside your coffee machine, ready to make a whole range of coffee specialities. I will note that as they are made of glass, you
do need to take a little extra care when making a drink as sudden changes to the temperature of the glass could lead to cracks. Plus, they are not microwavable. However, these are quite common aspects of many glass coffee cups so it’s not too much of an inconvenience.
Overall, I think the Stellar Glass Espresso and Latte cups would make the perfect gift as they provide a solid, aesthetically pleasing yet durable coffee vessel. The cups stack easily so can be safely stored more compactly, and thanks to the thick glass design they even warm your hands when drinking without getting too hot. Plus, at such an affordable price point, why not buy a few sets for the whole family so everyone can have their own beautiful espresso or latte cup!

When I first opened the box, I was immediately surprised by just how small the scale is, as it could easily fit in your pocket with room to spare. This means you can pour over directly onto the scale to measure, whilst not having to worry about any splashes harming the sensitive internal components. Similarly, the top comes with a removable silicone pad which provides the unit with heat resistance, and a non-slip surface for a super easy and stable user experience with each use. Plus, inside the weighing station is
a rechargeable lithium battery that can hold up to 15 hours on a single charger. However, when you do need to charge it, it comes with an included USB-C cable for easy charging. But, with 15 hours of charge, it is sure to last a long time even if used every day for measuring your coffee.
I was pleased to see that the Exagram Pro comes with a transportation case which protects the case when on the move and can even be used to lift the scale up. This means that the scale can then be placed under an espresso machine portafilter to help minimise espresso projections, or under the espresso basket to help prevent mess by helping deliver a cleaner extraction by keeping things just that little bit closer.
If you’re a coffee enthusiast or know someone who is, the Exagram Pro is a super helpful, nifty device that will ensure you can always get your perfect cup of coffee no matter where you go. I love just how compact it is, so I can take it with me on the go knowing that it is ready to deliver all the weighing and timing needs so I can enjoy my coffee no matter where I am.

The Weatherman Stick Umbrella we tested was in a red colourway, which looks great when opened and makes finding it in the boot of my car super easy. The giant red canopy opens with an auto-open function for ease and provides a spacious 43.5inch canopy perfect for two people to safely be sheltered from the rain. I loved the larger size, whether using it alone or whilst on a walk with my partner where we were both safely covered when a random rain shower occurred. However, my dog has also loved me using the umbrella on walks, as she will stay by my side also trying to avoid getting wet too!
The umbrella canopy is made from a durable water-repellent fabric which helps to keep you dry during rain and also makes shaking off the water after use before storing a lot easier. There’s nothing worse than your umbrella leaving a pool of water sitting under your desk after a rather rainy commute! Plus, I love that the umbrella has a reflective trim all the way around the base of the canopy to help keep you safe and visible to drivers even on dark morning commutes.
I love how solid the umbrella feels, even with a bit of wind. The umbrella has been tested in a wind tunnel to withstand up to
55mph which is super ideal, especially with the ever-changing nature of the weather during spring! I never have to worry about it folding inside out as I’ve experienced with other cheaper umbrella options. However, for this durability, the price is a lot higher at £74. Whilst every part of the umbrella has been designed with durability and functionality in mind, the price makes it a little inaccessible for some users. Instead, the umbrella would become a more investment purchase. Although Weatherman does offer a few other size options, and styles which may be more suitable at a lower price point.
PROS:
The overall look and durability of the Weatherman Stick Umbrella is great. It provides ample space to keep you and a friend protected from the rain whilst being reflective and wind-resistant. If you are looking for an umbrella which will last a long time and will be worth the investment compared to buying multiple cheaper umbrellas that break often, then the Weatherman Stick umbrella is a perfect choice. However, if the size and price are not to your needs, Weatherman offers a whole range of collapsible and more affordable umbrella options too!

The Golf Umbrella we tested from Weatherman came in a lovely lilac colour, and the canopy spans a large 56-inch diameter. The large size makes it perfect for at least three people to fit under, providing great protection from the sun, or you and your golf clubs from any adverse weather. Despite its large size, the umbrella is remarkably lightweight with the umbrella’s ribs made from silicone whilst also still being super durable.
One of my favourite aspects of the umbrella is that it has a little pocket inside the canopy that is perfect for keeping snacks or additional tees in. In addition, the entire edge of the umbrella features a reflective trim which helps maintain visibility, even when used off the golf course. Whilst the golf umbrella is great for use on the golf course, I love that the entire design has also been thought about for use off the course making it doubly functional. However, its larger size even if lightweight could make it only ideal when needed for larger groups as its full-length size makes it less portable than a collapsible option.
Sun protection is just as important as protection from the rain and the Golf umbrella is designed with UPF 50+ UV protection in mind. The large canopy can provide essential protection from the UV rays, whilst also providing a shaded place to rest between shots for protection from the heat. Plus the sturdy frame means you can even rest a towel or jacket over the poles providing ample storage for things to keep you cool whilst working your way across the golf course. However, as the golf design is a little more specialised to be ideal for sitting in your golf bag to provide such

Overall, if you’re a keen golfer, the Weatherman Golf Umbrella makes a vital addition to any golf bag to help keep you and your kit dry and protected from the sun. However, even off the course, the umbrella provides great wind resistance and a great canopy for use in both rain and wind. Its large size is great for covering a few people, and its lightweight design means it’s ideal for use during even the most sudden of downpours.
