Gas 2013

Tackling the Energy Trilemma 13 November 2013 One Great George Street, London, SW1P 3AA It is not known precisely when the phrase ‘energy trilemma’ first entered popular use however Dr Paul Golby, then CEO of E.ON UK, was certainly at the forefront of promulgating its use in describing the often conflicting challenges of energy security, affordability and environmental impact. It is fair to say that within UK Energy Policy development in the last 5 years the natural gas industry has been seen variously as an unsustainable network asset, a bridge to the renewable future and, through the shale gas debate, the saviour of our future energy security challenges. So where does the industry stand heading towards 2014, and what does this mean for investors, networks, supply chain companies and services organisations that are integral to the very success of the industry? With safety always at the centre, this seminar takes a walk around the axes of the energy trilemma to check the health and forward prospects for the onshore gas industry, guided by presentations and views from experts in the field. As usual the event provides an ideal opportunity to network with peers, an excellent forum for continued learning, and a chance to visit a topical supply chain exhibition.
