Gas Suppliers can make arrangements for the installation and connection of your gas by the local GT or a Utility Infrastructure Provider. 2.
Gas transporter
Gas Transporters will arrange to install and connect a new connection, however, you will have to arrange to purchase your gas from a gas supplier, who is also responsible for the fitting of a gas meter. There are four Gas transporters and the areas they cover are listed below. There will be a charge and the gas transporter will recover those costs that it is reasonably expected to incur when providing a connection service - including cost of labour, materials, and any other expenses required to carry out the work.

Utility Infrastructure Provider (UIP)
A UIP will install your connection and ensure that it is connected to the gas network of a GT. You will have to arrange to purchase your gas from a gas supplier, who will arrange for the fitting of a gas meter. A list of EUA Members who are UIP’s can be found below
Moving a Gas Meter You should initially contact your energy supplier or the gas transporter for your area in order to arrange for your gas meter to be moved. The gas transporter will normally carry out the meter move rather than the supplier, which means you can approach the transporter direct as an alternative to contacting your supplier. However, in certain circumstances a Gas Safe Registered installer may be able to carry out a meter move.
