South Africa and Expats Traditionally expats return to South Africa to exceptional positions due to their exposure and experience in the international business world. Ÿ Add 340 g fresh raspberries and 1/3 cup of the rhubarb simple syrup to a blender and blend until completely smooth. Divide the frozen blueberries among 3-4 glasses. Ÿ Divide the blended raspberry-rhubarb mixture among each glass. Pour the sparkling water or other sparkling wine into each glass. Add your blueberry stick and swirl to mix. Garnish with a few fresh raspberries and a sprig of mint. Drink!

Instructions Ÿ Place the mango in the freezer for 30 minutes to allow it to cool. If you are in a hurry you can skip this step and add 2 ice cubes into the smoothie instead. Remove the skin of the mango with a food peeler, Cut mango into medium chunks, reserve about 1 teaspoon of mango to use later for garnish on the smoothie (dice the reserved mango into small peices) . Ÿ Place the mango, Greek yogurt and ¼ teaspoon cinnamon in the blender. Blend for 2-3 minutes on high or until the mixture is creamy. Use a spoon to scrape the edges of the blender if any mango get's stuck on the sides. Pour into a cup, top with the reversed mango and lightly sprinkle with cinnamon.

Layered Watermelon Coconut Shakes Ingredients Ÿ ¾ cup frozen coconut meat, slightly thawed (I find mine at whole foods) Ÿ ½ cup full-fat canned coconut milk Ÿ ½ teaspoon coconut extract Ÿ 1½ cups frozen watermelon chunks (I keep mine in the freezer for at least 2 hours+) Ÿ ¼ cup coconut water Ÿ 2 tablespoons honey Ÿ salty lime sugar Ÿ 1 tablespoons sugar Ÿ 1 teaspoon flaked sea salt Ÿ the zest of one lime Instructions Ÿ Begin by making the salty lime sugar. Once made, slice the lime and use it to rim the edges of 2 glasses. Dip the glasses in the sugar and coat them thoroughly. Ÿ You can layer the shake however you'd like, but I prefer to start with the coconut so I don't

have to wash out the blender (you don't need to anyway, but it will tint the white coconut pink). Add the frozen coconut, milk and extract to a blender and puree until thick and creamy. Pour evenly between two glasses. Add the frozen watermelon, coconut water and honey to the blender (if the lime still has some juice, I'll also squeeze the rest in here) and puree until smooth and frosty. Pour on top of the coconut layer and garnish with limes! Ÿ Note: if you can't find frozen coconut meat, you can freeze young coconut meat or use it raw with a few ice cubes. Instead of either of those, you can swap the coconut meat entirely for a coconut ice cream! Salty Lime Sugar Ÿ Combine ingredients together in a bowl and mix with your fingers until the lime zest is evenly spread through the mixture.

Vegan “Orange Julius” Smoothie Ingredients Ÿ 2 ripe bananas, frozen (Yes, you an use room temp 'nanas in a pinch, but then you'll have to add more ice…) Ÿ 1 teaspoon fresh orange zest (This is the zest from about ½ an orange.) Ÿ 1½ cups fresh squeezed orange juice (This is the juice from about 2-3 oranges, depending on their size.) Ÿ ¾ cup unsweetened almond milk Ÿ ¾ teaspoon pure vanilla extract Ÿ 4-6 ice cubes Ÿ 1 tablespoon agave, optional (I don't think this smoothie needs it, but if you're into things extra sweet, go for it.) Instructions Ÿ Peel your bananas, place them in a Ziploc bag and freeze overnight. Ÿ Juice your oranges. You can do this using a fancy juicer, citrus press, or by hand. (Relax, you'll only need to juice 3 at most.) Ÿ Place the frozen bananas, orange zest, orange juice, almond milk, vanilla extract, and ice in a blender or food processor and puree until smooth. (Add agave to sweeten if necessary.) Ÿ Pour into two glasses and garnish with orange slices if you're feeling fancy.

The latest product to hit the shelves from Modiwall, creates an easy to use vertical garden system that scales easily to any size. Panels slot together to form a 1m² unit that is easily fastened to any wall or hung from beams. This system comes with self-irrigating pots that one clips onto the front panels. Creativity has no limit, since panels have a swivel action that allows for curved gardens. Water supply is put to working by a capillary system that minimises waste and maintenance. These panels are made with durable recycled UV-resistant plastic, with a long lifespan.

Pots easily clip onto the grid panel and are designed to allow for optimal moisture by means of capilary action.

Reservoirs, placed at the bottom of the installation, supply water to the top panels and water then trickles down, inside the panels, to irrigate the individual pots.

“Budget-conscious and low maintenance enhancements in the garden have the added benefit of increasing your property value” says Craig Hutchison, CEO of Engel & Völkers Southern Africa. Top of the list could be to install a borehole for water supply to make sure there are no extra costs added to the household water bills every month, or a steel front gate with a vintage rustic finish that will never need repainting.
