What’s more, the clocks have gone forward so we once again have our evenings back! In our cover feature (page12), to help you make the most of Cornwall as it comes to life, we take a look at the benefits of catered and self-catered accommodation across the Duchy. We also have an abundance of hotel stays and cosy self-catered cottages, so if you’ve been searching for accommodation ideas for your next Cornish escape, look no further! For those of you who recently popped (or answered) the question, from page 68 you’ll find our weddings guide, replete with ideas for planning your most special of days. A luxurious Isles of Scilly stay with Karma St. Martin’s
Located on a subtropical island of white sand beaches and crystal-clear seas, Karma St. Martin’s hotel redefines the luxury European escape. This exclusive island is easier to reach than ever before with flights now operating from Heathrow Airport to Newquay. Flights then link directly from Newquay airport to the Isles of Scilly. The flight is just 30 minutes from Newquay on a 16-seater Skybus, after which you’ll arrive into St Mary’s airport, which is the largest island on the Isles of Scilly. From here, magic awaits! The hotel is a short boat journey from St Mary’s, giving you time to bask in the gorgeous landscape this amazing archipelago has to offer. Upon arrival to St Martin’s a member of the Karma St. Martin’s team will greet you, and so your dream holiday begins. Relax in Michelin-listed accommodation including 27 individually appointed ocean

view bedrooms, and three luxurious suites. Each bright room has attractive décor with nautical touches and adjoining rooms are available for families – the retreat even welcomes dogs! You can enjoy summer days dining al fresco in the resort’s sub-tropical gardens or have a two AA rosette dining experience in the restaurant. With either option, you’ll be surrounded by breathtaking sea views, and the perfect location to capture the stunning Scilly sunset.
One such example of the team’s expertise is Salt House in St Ives. Now a part of the luxurious Carbis Bay Holidays portfolio, this property was brought to life after an original scheme submitted by another architect was refused planning permission. Lilly Lewarne Arthitects were commissioned to redesign the proposals and negotiate a successful outcome with the local planning authority. And that they did!
Simply contact the team at Karma St. Martin’s to reserve your ocean view room or suite in one of the UK’s best-kept staycation secrets, just 28 miles off the coast of Cornwall!
The main body of the existing three-storey house was preserved, but the inclusion of balcony extensions, internal remodeling and the replacement roof accommodation meant that a complete aesthetic overhaul was achieved, providing high quality and contemporary accommodation. In other words, a job well done!

hat does a luxury holiday mean to you? For most of us it calls to mind the best of the best in terms of location, accommodation and facilities. Whether it’s a stunning hotel set above the cliffs of Cornwall’s wild surf or a high spec self-catered home with all the special features of incredible location coupled with those extra touches like hot tubs and private pools. Whatever luxury means to you, you’re sure to find it within Cornwall’s luxury holiday market and to make your life easier, we’ve weighed up the various differences between luxury hotel and selfcatered accommodation in Cornwall, so that you can make an educated decision on what sector would suit you when booking your next coastal escape.
Luxury hotels TOP ì Stunning views from the Headland Hotel RIGHT è Enjoy fine dining at its best at the Fistral Beach Hotel and Spa
BELOW ê Make the most of incredible facilities including golf at The Budock Vean
Many of Cornwall’s finest hotels are set in breathtaking coastal locations around the county. Take the Headland Hotel for example, which couldn’t be closer to the wild surf of the north coast (see page 65 for more information). The St Mawes Hotel, located on the Roseland peninsula is also situated in a beautiful coastal location in St Mawes village, with surrounding pubs, shops and beaches to explore. Then there are grand hotels such as The Penventon Park Hotel, which is located in a gorgeous rural location surrounded by historic countryside rich with mining history. When thinking about hotel stays the first thing that comes to mind is indulgence, as the hotel package provides everything you could need for an utterly relaxing escape. Indeed, for many of us it’s the luxury of not having to lift a finger that sways the balance in favour of a hotel stay. Hotels like Merchants Manor and Budock Vean have exceptional onsite spa facilities, gyms and restaurants for you to enjoy. Not to mention that the hotel service means there’s no cleaning or cooking to worry about, so you can make the most of a hassle-free holiday.
Room service to me is the ultimate indulgence; knowing that when you return to your hotel at the end of the day you’ll be greeted by a beautifully made bed and a clean room makes a change to life at home, and it’s the small touches like this that really make you feel like you’re on holiday. Plus, if you don’t want to head to the restaurant, there’s always the glorious option of getting breakfast in bed or a cosy dinner for two in your room. The onsite facilities often also include kids clubs, which The Esplanade Hotel in Newquay, and the Polurrian Bay Hotel (page 55) on the Lizard excel at. Located right next to the epic surf of Fistral beach, The Esplanade provides a brilliant selection of kid’s activities, so that you can free up some time to spend with your other half – or maybe even book a relaxing spa treatment. Modern family life can be demanding so being able to take some time to yourself is a real treat. Similarly, the Polurrian offers a truly comprehensive childcare service with two hours of free childcare per day, a free baby listening service and a Sunday morning kids club so that you have the option to curl up under the duvet with your partner, a coffee and a newspaper, for an extra few hours of relaxation. Giving you the luxury of some free time to yourself. Or, if you want a holiday that doesn’t revolve around children, there’s also the option to book into an adult-exclusive hotel. Fistral Beach Hotel and Spa is one such hotel, offering four-star facilities and complete peace and quiet from hectic family life. As the name suggests it also has stunning spa facilities, which will whisk you away to a state of utter calm.

Luxury self-catered accommodation
Cornwall benefits from having a wealth of holiday home companies with some of the Duchy’s most prestigious properties on their books. Spanning everything from idyllic cottages, which you’re sure to find with Cornish Traditional Cottages (page 38) and Forever Cornwall (page 58), to some of the most luxurious and impressive homes available in Cornwall, which Latitude 50 and Perfect Stays have in abundance. Think contemporary cliff-top homes with immaculate interior design and spacious rooms that will induce a sense of serenity and relaxation. As incredible as Cornwall’s hotels are, if you’re looking for something quirky and unique you’re sure to find it within the self-catered market. From Cornish cottages overlooking beautiful creeks and coves with Creekside Cottages, to mansions sleeping twenty people, such as Cornish Gems’ property, Rosilian Hall – the diversity of self-catered accommodation makes it a great option for those who want to experience something truly unique and equally for those who have specific requirements. Take Charteroak for example, who specialise in stunning holiday lodges. Charteroak embraces the renowned Scandinavian way of life that’s all about enhancing wellbeing in beautiful natural surroundings, providing comfort, space and relaxation with rooms that include luxurious saunas and Jacuzzis; it doesn’t get much more indulgent than that.
Latitude50
RIGHT è Enjoy fireside sundowner sessions at Carn Mar in Polzeath
One thing that often tips the balance in favour of self-catered accommodation is the beauty of staying in a home from home, allowing you to experience what life as a local is really like (if you happen to be a local with an immaculate and beautifully designed Cornish home, that is!). You can enjoy the convenience of your own kitchen with all the latest high spec appliances, living rooms with flat screen TVs and as many bedrooms as necessary. Then there’s the added benefit of private garden space, with the luxury market now also incorporating special features like hot tubs, private pools and high-spec barbeques. There’s also a lot to be said for being able to whip up some cheese on toast if you get peckish, and have a sofa to lounge on and enjoy a glass of wine when the kids have gone to bed, or maybe even sit out on the terrace and watch the sun go down below the rolling surf of the ocean. For a lot of families or friends, it’s the privacy and autonomy of self-catered that makes it so appealing, you can make your own rules, eat when you want and let the kids roam around the house or garden without worrying about disturbing other guests. However, this isolation does mean you have to come up with your own entertainment.

When it comes to choosing a holiday home company to book with, it’s important to bear in mind where you want to be based. Latitude 50 and John Bray Holidays specialise in properties in north Cornwall (find out more about John Bray Cornish Holidays on page 44), while Padstow Breaks deals exclusively with properties in Padstow, providing unique coastal escapes by the sea. Then there are the companies that have properties throughout Cornwall, so knowing where you want to spend your holiday will help narrow down your search. Many hotels (such as the Polurrian and Budock Vean) are now choosing to capitalise on the influx of holidaymakers who may prefer self-catering accommodation, and in reaction to this are introducing apartments or cottages on hotel grounds, providing families with the privacy and autonomy of self-catered accommodation alongside all the excellent hotel facilities that are just a stone’s throw away.
Then there’s The Oceanic Suite Hotel, which provides the ultimate mix of five-star hotel facilities with stylish apartment living, exclusively for grown ups. Similarly, the self-catered sector are introducing additional luxuries like tailored concierge services and in-house catering options, which Latitude50 offer for their incredible property Carn Mar in Polzeath, so you don’t have to worry about cooking or cleaning dishes while staying in your home from home. So we see a kind of merging between the two accommodation sectors occurring within the market, which nods towards the benefits that both options have and shows that the way forward for luxury accommodation in Cornwall could be to become a hybrid of the convenient luxury of a hotel and the cosy privacy of self-catered accommodation. And whatever you prefer, you’re sure to find it in abundance within Cornwall’s thriving accommodation market.

ith its incredible beaches, crystal clear waters and hidden coves, Cornwall is an area of the country that, for many, needs little introduction. Boasting over 400 miles of idyllic coastline, the Duchy has endured for decades as the destination of choice for holidaymakers and second homeowners alike. In recent years ‘the land of pirates’ has evolved to enjoy year round popularity and an increase in purchasers relocating permanently; in fact, for Savills Cornwall, 50% of the team’s buyers in 2018 were relocating, compared with 25% in the previous year, highlighting what a special place Cornwall is. Savills Cornwall’s residential team are all locals, each having been away from the county before irrevocably being drawn back again. For Head of Department, Ben Davies, it was “the pull of open spaces and the timelessness of the county” that brought him back, while Tim May notes that it was “the dramatic coastline, beautiful walks, and, of course, my Cornish wife” that spurred him to return home. For George Hill, returning to Cornwall after working in central London was a breath of fresh air. “I have a real taste for city markets and have grown to love Truro,” so when an opportunity arose at Savills, George jumped at the chance and has been loving every minute since. Having always lived in Cornwall, Staci couldn’t imagine living anywhere else, telling us:
“There is nowhere quite like this county. Once you visit you can’t help but fall in love with its charm.” Far from being the sleepy county that so many people imagine, Cornwall is a busy, forward-thinking and indeed, very welcoming part of the world. The north coast is famed for its wide, sandy beaches, world-class surf and foodie scene with a multitude of internationally celebrated chefs enjoying continued popularity all along the coastline. And the serene south coast is equally impressive, with tranquil inlets and wooded creeks providing the base for an array of leisure pursuits, from outstanding sailing to adventure sports. Inland, between the two coasts, there’s yet more to be enjoyed, with fantastic moorland, rolling countryside and woodlands, as well as miles of walking, cycling and riding routes criss-crossing the county. With combined experience of over 40 years, the local team of Savills Cornwall is proud to have marketed some of the Duchy's most desirable and interesting properties. Its friendly team of experts are ideally placed to guide and advise you – whether you're buying or selling – on your next property move.

ituated within the idyllic fishing village of Portloe, The Old Store is a unique and sympathetic conversion providing a charming three bedroom, two bathroom home with an undoubtedly unique layout. The architect-designed accommodation uses traditional and local materials, creating a highly individual property, centred around the superb double height galleried living areas. From the covered cobbled parking, double doors lead to the garage and a separate entrance door. The entrance hallway, with downstairs cloakroom, leads into the spacious dining room that features a fitted kitchen with glossy granite work surfaces. From the kitchen, doors lead to the utility room and a partially covered, enclosed courtyard that is the perfect spot to enjoy a morning coffee. Portloe itself is a very picturesque, protected and unspoilt fishing village, nestling between magnificent cliffs on the south-eastern coast of the Roseland peninsula, an acclaimed Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. With granite cottages surrounding a small traditional harbour, John Betjeman once described the
village as “One of the least spoiled and most impressive of Cornish fishing villages,” which still rings true today, although the addition of the excellent Lugger Hotel really has put Portloe on the map. The Old Store provides a brilliant base from which to explore the Roseland peninsula. Renowned for its mild climate and picturesque beaches, Portloe is a highly sought after location and is considered by many as the jewel in the Roseland’s crown.

Situated at the front of the grounds you’ll find the Coachman’s Lodge, which has excellent potential to turn into a studio or games room. Onto the location and you’ll be well set to enjoy everything Cornwall has to offer, being just two miles from the A30. You can also make the most of the countryside, as Lewannick Manor is located right on the eastern side of Bodmin Moor. Lewannick village offers a great pub, village store and primary school. What’s more, Launceston is just six miles distant, often referred to as the gateway to Cornwall and offering a range of facilities including schools, shopping, sports clubs and golf courses. To fully appreciate everything on offer here, a viewing comes strongly recommended. To see it for yourself, be sure to contact the team at Savills.

Just a stone’s throw from Treyarnon beach below, all rooms enjoy unobstructed views over the bay to Dinas Point and the ocean beyond. Windhover sits comfortably within its grounds, elevated above the coastal footpath and offering in excess of 2,900 square feet of accommodation, providing a superb opportunity for redevelopment. The accommodation is currently arranged to maximise the views, with well proportioned rooms spread over two floors. Outside, the gardens that surround the property feature beautiful stone walling, and the gently sloping lawns that border the headland and footpath lead onto a path that descends directly to the beach. To the rear is a parking area in addition to the integral garaging, with another garden originally used as a kitchen garden and an old air raid shelter – constructed when Windhover was used as the local school during the Second World War. This magnificent and rugged stretch of the north Cornish coastline spans from Porthcothan Bay in the south to Trevone Bay in the north and includes a plethora of other stunning beaches. If you enjoy golf with a view then Trevose Golf Club
offers some of the best, whilst the South West Coast Path provides exceptional rural and coastal cliff top walks. This really is a fabulous opportunity to experience the best of Cornish coastal living and a genuine once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

est Pill Cottages are thought to date back to the mid-to-late 18th century, built for shipwrights and formerly part of the Trelissick Estate (now National Trust owned). Pill Creek was used as a safe haven for boats during storms and opposite the cottage you’ll find the original 18th century quays used to export minerals. Today, the creek reflects its historic past attracting those seeking peace and tranquillity in a stunning waterside location. The property itself is a beautiful Grade II listed mid-terraced cottage, completely refurbished in 1997, set in an idyllic position above the peaceful waters of Pill Creek. A pathway leads through the picturesque garden to the entrance porch, and there are two reception rooms either side of the hallway, both enjoying stunning creek views. The charming sitting room has a wood burner with slate hearth and surround thought to date back to the late Georgian era. The traditional dining room leads through to the recently-fitted shaker style kitchen with a centrally placed AGA as a focal point, and the sun terrace can be accessed from the kitchen via steps leading from the rear patio. All principal rooms enjoy superb creek views and much of the accommodation retains many of the original features. The elevated west facing sun deck to the rear of the property creates a perfect place for sundowners and to enjoy the surrounding countryside. Arguably the biggest draw for this property is its close proximity to the water, with a privately owned foreshore accessed via the public footpath and at low tide a small beach is revealed which is perfect for keeping a tender or for working on boat repairs.

This superb coastal property enjoys a prominent position on the northern side of Mawgan Porth, one of Cornwall’s most desirable seaside locations. Designed by Lilly Lewarne Architects and remodelled from the original 1960s building to maximise the view of the landscape, it also offers a contemporary lifestyle thanks to its open plan, reverse level accommodation. This is complemented perfectly by professional interior design, which creates a relaxed and inspiring atmosphere.
Incorporating outdoor and indoor living, the open-plan living area features three sets of floor-to-ceiling sliding windows leading out to the balcony, providing plenty of space for al fresco dining and entertaining. Five of the bedrooms benefit from sliding windows to the patio terrace. From the first floor living area, far reaching and panoramic views over the coastal landscape are truly spectacular. The space here has been carefully considered too, thoughtfully arranged and defined to provide four distinct areas. The triple aspect sitting area enjoys an abundance of natural light, with a vaulted ceiling and large contemporary woodburner, ideal for getting cosy on those stormy winter evenings. A breakfast bar offers casual eating and, at the far end of the room, a TV area provides yet more living space! Outside, generous south-west facing gardens to the rear of the property are

Imagine escaping the city and returning to a home from home by the coast, whenever you want. The pristine sands and clear waters surrounding Cornwall draw thousands of holiday makers to our coast every year. There’s something captivating about the sheer cliffs, crashing surf and long coast paths that make Cornwall a magical place to explore with new experiences on the horizon every time you visit. Then there are the larger properties such as Panorama overlooking Mawgan Porth on Cornwall’s north coast, boasting outstanding countryside and coastal views. This is a world-class residence with six bedrooms and spacious living areas perfect for larger families to enjoy in complete comfort. Similarly, The Moorings in St Mawes is another coastal escape with four bedrooms to utilise. HOT PROPERTY We take a look at two wonderful properties in stunning coastal locations, recently sold by Savills Cornwall.

ne of the finest houses on the Fal Estuary, Clay Point occupies an exceptional position on Falmouth harbour, with an ever-changing vista taking in the moored yachts and ships, National Maritime Museum, St Anthony Lighthouse and Pendennis headland. South facing and immensely private, this attractive Edwardian house is elevated above its stone quay and set behind generous, longestablished gardens with a network of paths leading down to the beach. The property provides its new owners with a world of potential; Flushing itself has some brilliant pubs and a close-knit community vibe and Falmouth is only a short drive away with a plethora of bars and restaurants and a buzzing events calendar. Then just a 20-minute walk along the South West Coast Path (or a five minute drive) is Mylor Yacht Harbour, which features a great café and Castaways Restaurant amidst the buzzing atmosphere of a working boat harbour. Not to mention the potential to explore the whole south coast and further afield by boat! Guide price £2,750,000. The other property, Tredragon Spring, is situated on the north coast and is perched on the cliffs overlooking Mawgan Porth beach. In comparison to Clay Point’s coastal grandeur, Tredragon provides a decidedly modern edge. Plus you swap the tranquil sailing
waters of Falmouth with the wild surf of the north coast. But one thing’s for sure; both properties are undeniably luxurious coastal retreats. Tredragon is a superb coastal family home, designed to maximise the location with minimalist, contemporary and chic beach style interiors that incorporate both outdoor and indoor living. The main entrance is accessed via a glazed and galvanised bridge, which opens up to a spacious and light sitting room with full width sliding doors to the expansive sun deck that boasts panoramic sea, beach and coastal views. The master bedroom enjoys similar sublime views with a sliding door to the sun deck, whilst the boutique style bathroom has a large walk-in shower, bath and twin basins. Guide price £3,000,000. Clay Point and Tredragon Spring afford their new owners endless opportunities to live the ultimate Cornish lifestyle and to be able to return home to a waterside haven. Each of these properties represents a dream many of us aspire to, and it’s one that you too could realise with the help of Savills Cornwall.

FLOORS TO FALL FOR Producing handcrafted floors for those wishing to supplement the beauty of their space, we catch up with Aspen & Ash. TOP é Stunning flooring from Aspen & Ash can really help add character to your home RIGHT ì Aspen & Ash champion traditional craftsmanship using sustainably sourced wood
T
his exemplary Cornish company has more than 40 years’ experience in crafting flooring, worktops and other fine creations from the finest wood. It’s one of only a few in the UK that utilises sustainable managed British hardwood, cementing its own green and sustainable credentials. All timber processed by Aspen & Ash is either reclaimed from industrial redevelopments decommissioning pristine vintage wood, or from Lord Falmouth’s Tregothnan Estate, where English oak and olive ash trees are felled and replaced as part of a sustainable husbandry policy. When it’s felled, all flooring is then cut, kiln dried and finished in house. Beautiful and durable, Aspen & Ash’s engineered flooring promises to last for generations, whilst remaining easy to clean, adding instant value to a home. The natural wooden flooring brings a sense of character, with the appearance of improving as time goes by. To complement its range of luxury flooring, Aspen & Ash has also introduced a new range of parquet and chevron flooring. Traditional parquet designs add a classic and contemporary feel to a home, presenting a finish of elegance. The tough nature of parquet flooring makes it suitable
for a variety of spaces, and each block is handcrafted and durable, able to handle high levels of traffic while maintaining its timeless appeal. Perhaps you already have wood flooring but it’s in need of renovation? If so, you’ll be pleased to know that Aspen & Ash now offers a new service in hardwood floor maintenance and enhancement, meaning your home and treasured flooring will be in safe hands. Using Lagler specialist floor sanders – often referred to as the ‘Rolls Royce of floor sanders’ – the team can renew floors to perfect condition. The process is virtually dust free too, being professionally carried out by Lagler certified and trained operatives. So if you’re in the market for sustainably sourced, handcrafted wood flooring, or are looking for a team of experts to help bring your old floorboards back to life, be sure to get in touch with the professional team at Aspen & Ash.

Stunning bathroom designs from Studio One's recent project
S
tudio One South West are a bathroom, wet room and tiling company based in Plymouth, providing you with everything needed to finish the home of your dreams with designs that will take your breath away. One of the most recent projects they were involved in resulted in them creating stunning bathrooms and tiling to a seaside south west property. The Studio One team played an integral role in the creation of all bathrooms, some hallways and even fireplace design for this property, maintaining a synergy between tile design and the surrounding coastal environment throughout the house. The owners, interior designers and the main contractors for this new build not only wanted someone they could rely on to supply them with high quality bathroom and tile products for the whole house, but a company that was capable of taking care of everything else too; from the consultation stage, right through to the high-end installation that was required for this truly bespoke project. We hear from Studio One owner Mark, who tells us: “We worked with the designers of this project, Cornish Interiors, from the
initial consultation stage right through to completion. During the consultation we looked at the designs and how we could use the best selection of products to help us achieve our goals. We then supplied the materials and installed them to the highest possible standard, ensuring that the bathrooms, wetrooms and cloakrooms met the highest quality to match that of the rest of the property. Further tiling to the conservatory, kitchen and dining areas as well as the entrance hall, landing, stunning curved staircase and the

feature tiled fireplace were supplied and installed. Our years of specialist tiling expertise was utilised completely for this project where we could really show our strengths using a range of tile materials and techniques to tile the entire house.” Their expert tilers worked with quality products ranging from 12mm to 30mm natural stone tiles, through to porcelain, all of which resulted in a finish that is second to none. Exceptional knowledge in wet room construction came to the forefront when Studio One were asked to incorporate stunning wet room designs throughout the property. Bespoke custom drain bodies were positioned against the walls so that large format tiles could be laid in one direction to give the best design and look to the rooms. When discussing the finer details of the installation, Mark tells us: “The brassware to the bathrooms were brushed nickel to give a luxurious feel and the built in cistern flush plates had the same finish. Detailed back lighting behind the toilets and bespoke mirrors gave a warm and inviting feel to the rooms, which is what we were after. Not to mention the underfloor heating to all the rooms including the shower areas, built in mirror
cabinets, freestanding baths and basins and quality fixtures and fittings that all helped to make this one stunning house.” It’s clear to see that Studio One have excelled with this project, rising to the brief and challenges in design and creating synergy throughout the home, incorporating different stone textures and adding in details that make the project stand out as nothing short of remarkable. So, if you’re looking for a company to help transform your home, then you know you’ll be in safe hands with the expert team at Studio One South West.

REACH YOUR LETTING
l a i t n e t po
With Cornwall’s staycation market only set to grow, we ask George at Cornish Traditional Cottages for his top holiday home tips.
O
nce your property is ‘out there’, George explains: “enquiries should start to come in. Although not all of them will result in a booking, you should treat them all as potential guests. This means responding professionally and promptly. Always aim for a maximum of a few hours, same day if you can. Go that extra mile by offering extra information, or try to accommodate people by suggesting alternative arrangements if your property can’t cater for them on their chosen dates.” The next key moment is when your guests arrive. “You may like to organise a personal meet-and-greet. This gives you the chance to get to know them, introduce them to your holiday home and answer any questions in person. If this isn’t practical or desirable, make sure you’ve provided clear instructions to make the arrival process as simple as possible.” Next, it’s time to get their feedback. “This is crucial. You could keep a guestbook in a clearly visible place and add a note to the front cover asking guests to write their comments. Afterwards, type them out and include them in an email to your guest, asking for permission to use it on your website and/ or marketing material.” As much as you’d love to read glowing comments from start to finish, the reality is that reviews rarely rave all the time, so it’s important to know how to respond. “Check
regularly for new reviews and respond as soon as you can. Always respond to a review, no matter how glowing (or otherwise) it is, and always start by thanking the reviewer.” He also recommends keeping the reply concise, while addressing all points. “Negative comments should be taken with a pinch of salt,” stresses George. “Remember, this isn’t about you; it’s about a holiday home. Give yourself a day before replying to negative reviews, to stop feeling angry or hurt, and use the feedback to your advantage. Amend faults and improve on shortcomings so that future guests benefit, then let them know what you’ve done.” Cornish Traditional Cottages have a deep wealth of knowledge when it comes to making holiday home rentals a success, so if you’re just starting out or are looking for advice to improve, why not give George and the team a call?

A number of beaches on the north Cornish coast are dog friendly, including Rock beach, Daymer Bay and Port Isaac. They are also horse-friendly so equine enthusiasts can enjoy a canter across the bay at low tide before taking a paddle in the waves. And once you’ve finished exploring the coastline, why not take the ferry from Rock to Padstow? Here you can enjoy some local delicacies and a spot of retail therapy. You can also hire a bicycle from Padstow and pick up the Camel Trail which leads you to the next town, Wadebridge and beyond. If your idea of the perfect holiday involves the water then you’re in for a real treat. There are so many ocean activities to choose from, with Rock being one of the major water-sport hubs in Cornwall. You’ll find sailing, windsurfing, water skiing, canoeing and rowing on offer, or hire a paddle board for some great exercise on the calm waters of the Camel Estuary. If riding the waves is more your style, Polzeath boasts one of the best surfing beaches in the country and is a haven for surfers, body boarders and paddle boarders alike. Its golden sands, along with nearby Daymer Bay, lend themselves to sun worshipers. There’s nothing quite like a Cornish beach day, soaking up the rays and playing some beach games with the family before taking advantage of the surrounding
cafés – here you can really make a day of it. Once you have had your fill of the fresh Cornish air, rinsed off your sandy toes and sun-kissed skin, then there are plenty of restaurants to sample. This unique corner of north Cornwall has a plethora of Michelin stars, so foodies are more than catered for. Top chefs Rick Stein, Paul Ainsworth and Nathan Outlaw, to name but a few, have all embraced the area, inspired by its natural bounty. If you prefer your dining a little more laid back, then there are copious cool cafés and beach bars to be discovered. And there’s always a beach barbeque or some Cornish fish and chips to indulge in. A holiday in north Cornwall demands a slower pace of life, where the morning commute is just a gentle stroll across the beach, or a short water taxi ride. Port Isaac, the home of the film set for the television series Doc Martin, is a lovely place to take a stroll, enjoying its many galleries and shops. A Cornish holiday is a chance to unplug from everyday life, to relax and enjoy quiet beach days, laze in a hot tub, play family games in the comfort of your holiday home and recapture that elusive family getaway – winding the clock back to a simpler time, away from the hustle, bustle and technology that’s become an unavoidable part of modern life. Sound good? Then all that’s left for you to decide is where to stay and thankfully, the team at John Bray Cornish Holidays can help you every step of the way – from booking your stay to suggesting an itinerary for an actionpacked holiday. With over 48 years' experience and a choice of over 330 properties, you can be sure that John Bray Cornish Holidays has the holiday home of your dreams, just waiting to be discovered, whatever the occasion.

ying just 28 miles off the Cornish coast you’ll find a group of sand-fringed islands like nowhere else in the UK. Basking in a warmer climate, the Isles of Scilly offer you an escape from everyday stresses, with the pace of life slowing to the rhythm of the tides. There are five inhabited islands; St Mary’s, Tresco, St Martin’s, Bryher and St Agnes, along with many more uninhabited isles and rocky outcrops, all surrounded by clear turquoise waters warmed by the Gulf Stream and just waiting for you to explore. These utterly unspoilt islands have a natural wildness that is completely relaxing. The whole of Scilly is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and you’ll find miles of coastal footpaths and near-deserted stretches of white sandy beaches to stroll along at your leisure. St Mary’s is the largest of the islands. It’s where you’ll arrive and it’s the closest Scilly gets to being busy. A number of shops, cafés and galleries can be found in Hugh Town and with its many beaches, countryside paths and coastal trails, there’s always something
new to try. St Mary’s Quay is also the hub for Scilly’s inter-island boats. A short boat ride away you’ll find St Martin’s, which offers a tantalising choice of white sandy beaches that slope gently into the crystal-clear water. Embark on a snorkelling adventure where you’ll be surrounded by the playful Atlantic grey seals – a truly once-in-alifetime experience. Tresco is Scilly’s privately-owned island and is home to the world famous sub-tropical Abbey Garden. Described as the 'perennial Kew without glass', you’ll find more than 20,000 species of plants from all over the world – it’s definitely a must see! Bryher has a bit of everything. On one side the Atlantic coastline is rugged and dramatic, often with the waves to match, while on its sheltered eastern shores, the views across to Tresco are sandy and calm. On some tides you can even make the crossing on foot! St Agnes is the very tip of the British Isles. It’s unspoilt and a little untamed, with mysterious, Bronze Age archaeology and rare bird species brought in on the Atlantic current. It’s home to one of Scilly’s

Catch a tripper boat and go island hopping to uncover each island’s own unique charms and traits. You’ll soon find a favourite – that one island that feels a little more special to you than the others, and it’s fair to say that you’ll be captivated by their charms wherever you go, quickly realising why visitors choose to return time and time again. While they may feel like another world, getting to the Isles of Scilly is much simpler than you may think. If you’re visiting Cornwall, they’re easily close enough to visit for the day, with ample time to enjoy the islands while you’re there. Why not make it the highlight of your Cornish holiday? It certainly makes for a day trip to remember! Isles of Scilly Travel can connect you to the islands by air or sea, offering a truly memorable start to your island adventure. Skybus flights operate from Exeter, Newquay and Land’s End airports and they couldn’t be
easier to co-ordinate into your travel plans, with connecting Flybe flights from London Heathrow, City and Southend, making it an ideal short break destination. Alternatively, sailing on the Scillonian III is a seamless process too, with Penzance Quay only a short walk from the town’s train station, connected via the main line to London Paddington. However you choose to make the crossing, the journey will form a unique part of your unforgettable trip to Scilly. You’ll be treated to incredible views of the Cornish coastline, before seeing the beautiful archipelago emerge before you, rising up from the horizon like a mirage of some distant tropical paradise. To make a start on planning your island adventure or to find out more, be sure to head to the Isles of Scilly Travel website.

ith 12 acres of mature Cornish gardens and fabulous views, the Polurrian on the Lizard is situated in a stunning spot. It even has its own beach! Inside, the hotel continues to impress, with communal areas that have been carefully refurbished to offer relaxing and welcoming, bright and contemporary spaces. The Vista Lounge, for instance, enjoys stunning panoramic sea views over Mount’s Bay and, with comfy chairs to relax in and a bar just up the steps, it’s the perfect place to sit back and enjoy watching the many moods of the Atlantic. As well as the boutique style hotel rooms, the Polurrian also offers luxury self-catering villas. These, too, enjoy beautiful interiors and guests are allowed to use all hotel facilities, meaning they can enjoy the benefits of secluded self-catering, with all the conveniences of a luxury hotel stay. Facilities include two pools, a gym, outdoor tennis courts and, perhaps best of all, a wellbeing area – just the ticket if you’re looking to feel pampered! The new bar, at the top of the Vista Lounge, has a fantastic range of Cornish tipples, including a number of rums from both Cornwall and around the globe. Why not order yourself a rum tasting board? Alternatively, there’s a fantastic Cornish cocktail menu, as well as wines, including some from Polgoon Vineyard in Penzance.
On days where the sun is shining, be sure to head out on the local coast path and discover the breathtaking Atlantic views that abound here. Or why not take the short drive to Lizard Point, with its natural beauty and wildlife, and see for yourself the UK’s most southerly point? Finally, after a day working up a hearty seaair appetite, you’ll find that the Polurrian’s food comes from the heart, designed to be enjoyed whilst relaxing and soaking up the restaurant’s spectacular views. There are vegan and kids menus available too, so everybody’s well catered for! Head Chef, Charlotte, is a great advocate of the slow food movement, meaning she spends longer finding the best produce from as close a radius as possible. With a talented kitchen team behind her, she’s able to source produce from the local countryside and coastline and deliver it to your table, showcasing flavours that promise to leave you wanting more. If you’re looking for a dreamy holiday by the sea, whether you’re more into hotel stays of self-catering luxury, the Polurrian has you covered, so be sure to head online and book your next Cornish break!

As well as all the wonderful restaurants Porthleven has to offer, you’ll definitely be spoilt for choice. Celebrity chefs, including festival patron Antony Worrall Thompson, will take to the stage on Saturday and Sunday. There’s a friendly and authentic festival atmosphere with music, performers, demos and activity around the harbour and in the Moors field. Bop to a band by the bobbing boats at the Lime Kiln Stage (presented in association with BBC Music Introducing), or enjoy a shanty choir in the Port and Oyster – the event’s pop up pub – where there will also be cocktail making master classes and demos to enjoy and get involved in.
Brilliant bands are a regular fixture in the evenings at Porthleven Food Festival and the Friday night opening party is always a biggie. This year the event is kicking off with Plymouth’s Mad Dog Mcrea, supported by the Roustabouts. Saturday night’s Shipyard Session will bring the sound of Motown to the festival with some of Cornwall’s most talented soul musicians and Sunday is a local affair, with a line-up featuring Rosie Crowe, Half Kut and Go Go Skank. To immerse yourself in the three-day festival experience, avoid the traffic and stay late for the highly-anticipated Shipyard Sessions, why not save yourself some hassle and pitch up at the festival campsite? Simply bring your own tent or campervan or even book a pre-erected Bell Tent or exclusive Shire Hut complete with beds, mattresses, electric, mirrors, boot holders and more. he picturesque coastal hamlet of Port Gaverne nestles right next to Port Isaac (otherwise known as Portwenn, to fans of Doc Martin). With two fantastic eateries, an activity centre, a delightful beach that’s dog friendly all year round, plus miles of Cornwall’s most dramatic coast paths on its doorstep, it’s the ideal base from which to explore north Cornwall. Sound idyllic? With ten unique cottages and apartments all in Port Gaverne, Forever Cornwall has a retreat here to suit everyone. If you’re after a foodie break, these cottages couldn’t be in a better location, with two Nathan Outlaw restaurants, fabulous pizzas and classic Cornish pub grub just a short stroll away in Port Isaac. Right next door to your accommodation you’ll find the Port Gaverne Restaurant & Hotel, voted Cornwall’s best gastropub, or for tapas, sharing plates and drinks by the beach, there’s the stylish Pilchards café. But this coastal hamlet isn’t just for foodies. Outdoor enthusiasts will be pleasantly surprised at the extent of activities available here. Cornish Rock Tors will guide you around this part of the coastline by whatever adventurous means you choose; kayaking, paddle boarding, coasteering, wild swimming, the choice is yours! And with miles of coastal footpath and some of the
best beaches in Cornwall in the area, you certainly won’t be short of activities in Port Gaverne. As the tide retreats in the cove, a sandy beach, rockpools and caves are revealed. As it’s so sheltered, it’s a great beach for kids to explore, but if you’re looking for somewhere you can really let them run free, you can simply drive a few miles either way along the coast, with vast expanses of golden sands to be found at Polzeath, Daymer Bay and Trebarwith. Finally, after a day of activities, retreat to your holiday home, rinse off those sandy toes and enjoy an al fresco dinner. Or, dry off in front of the woodburner and get cosy for the evening. The two Tregudda apartments are perfect for larger groups of families or friends, while Forever Cornwall’s selection of cottages, with wooden floors and exposed beams, are perfect for a more intimate break with just the two of you. Whether it’s an out-of-season couple’s retreat or a classic bucket and spade family break, Port Gaverne is the perfect location for a Cornish retreat.

AT YOUR
l a s o p s di
With a service that’s quickly expanding across the Duchy, Holiday Home Waste Collection could be the changeover day solution you’ve been looking for.
I
f you’re the proud owner of a holiday home in Cornwall but find yourself rushed off your feet on changeover days, perhaps local, family run business, Holiday Home Waste Collection could be of service? While yielding excellent rental performance and helping many people fund their coastal lifestyle, holiday homes in Cornwall have recently had to face new legislation regarding waste disposal. Cornwall Council now classes holiday home waste as commercial waste, meaning it’s no longer dealt with by domestic waste carriers. To have it collected by the Council, holiday home owners are now required to pay and sign into 12-month contracts, and while the Council does recommended a few other companies, their collection days unfortunately don’t always coincide with changeovers. With this in mind, Holiday Home Waste Collection introduced a personable collection service to suit individual holiday home owners, offering a unique service and clean bins when guests arrive, without a binding contract, whereby owners can call up at anytime should a callout or any assistance be required. Owned by Jennifer Brown, this Cornish business has family at its core. Indeed, Jennifer’s family have all become involved while still progressing in their own careers, collecting on both the north and south Cornish coasts on different changeover days, introducing their own ideas and enthusiasm to help grow the business, always providing second-to-none service.
The company is an Environment Agency Registered Waste Carrier, serving holiday lets all along the coast from Bude to Penzance, as well as covering Fowey one day a week! There are two options within this incredible service and both are proving to be extremely popular, so be sure to get in touch to see which will suit you better. The service includes the bags, removal of general waste, and glass recycling. Bins are also checked, cleaned and left with a new bin liner. They encourage the separation of glass from general waste, which is collected by a company called Cornish Cullet. Everything else can then be placed into one bag and taken to Jennifer and the team's site, where it is collected by a recycling and recovery company. Recyclable items are then sold on, while non-recyclables are incinerated, producing green energy that gets sent straight to the electrical grid. A very efficient service indeed! Given the recent changes in legislation, it makes sense to arrange a waste disposal service that suits you, rather than paying for one that doesn’t, so why not give Holiday Home Waste Collection a call and streamline your schedule?
é INSET The Holiday Home Waste Collection team will collect all the rubbish from your holiday let, saving you time and hassle during changeovers ç LEFT Jennifer's family, Charlie and Danny, both carpenters, and Hollie, who is a nurse

A JOURNEY OF Discover Xen Noodle and Wine Bar – a true hidden gem in Cornwall’s cathedral city. INSET ì South Korean barbeque grills, cooked at the table! RIGHT è Take a culinary journey through Asia
A
r u o v a fl
visit to Truro’s Xen Noodle and Wine Bar means a tasty experience of South Korean and Asian cuisine. The sweet and the sour, the hot and the salty, all mixed with a rainbow of fresh, wholesome ingredients. Prepared with no artificial flavours, the array of colour and explosions of flavour speak volumes of the type of food Xen delivers and the best part is, the menu is positively healthy! All food is free of MSG and there are plenty of vegan and gluten free options available too. Eating different food groups has often been linked with a preferable diet, and is possibly a reason for why obesity rates are a third lower in Asia than the Western world. Healthy amounts of soup, according to the team at Xen, mean low calories. They also offer a range of meat free dishes, which are low in saturated fat. As you might expect, there are a number of marinated beef dishes, but all in all the input of seafood swings Xen’s food firmly into the healthy category! From the aromatic spices of Thailand and Malaysia to the delicate flavours and textures of Japan, the menu promises to take you on a journey across the continent. Xen’s menu benefits from the chefs’ true Asian heritage, using traditional cooking techniques and delivering authentic, modern and delicious dishes from the heart of Asian culture. In particular, we love the sound of the all-new South Korean barbeque grills, cooked at the table!
But the team couldn’t have done it alone, and owner, Chris tells us: “We are passionate about our place in the heart of Truro and are thankful for the continued support and custom we’ve received from locals and visitors alike.” Whatever the occasion, whether you’re celebrating a birthday or organising the annual office party, Chris and the team welcome anybody to sample a true taste of Asia, so why not get in touch and book a table?

The meaning of
LUXURY We discover what luxury means to The Headland Hotel and Spa in Newquay.
W
hen The Headland first opened its doors in the 1900s the perception of what luxury looks like was very different to how we think of it today; opulent fixtures and fittings and expensive furnishings would have been considered essential aspects of luxury accommodation; the more grandeur, the more luxurious. This differs to many people’s expectation of luxury today. In our cash-rich, time-poor culture we’re regaining a sense of what’s really important in our lives and this often boils down to having the time to spend with the people you love and having the energy to reconnect with them in a meaningful way. The Headland embraces its history but also moves with the times. You’ll find plenty of traditional luxuries like beautifully crafted bedrooms with sumptuous décor and unique charm, exceptionally comfortable mattresses with super-soft bedding, spacious bathrooms with bathtubs as well as walk-in showers, effortless technology, plus some of the finest views in Cornwall. The team also believes that true luxury is found in the small things, thoughtful details such as handmade biscuits with your coffee, a warm smile, the concierge knowing you by name, a choice of fresh or dairy-free milk in your bedroom fridge, the sheer size of the scones! All the
small things that make your stay at The Headland even more comfortable than being in your purpose-designed home. Perhaps most importantly, while you’re at The Headland you can forget about routines and responsibilities and unplug from the digital world. While away your days on the beach with the kids, hunting through rock pools and building sandcastles. Take the dog for a leisurely walk along the South West Coast Path, conveniently located right on the doorstep, or try your hand at surfing at Cornwall’s famous Fistral beach, which lies right beneath The Headland. When the evening draws in snuggle up together on a squashy sofa in the ballroom and tuck into a fully loaded hot chocolate as you watch the sun set directly over the bay. Complete the experience with modern fine dining in the Samphire Restaurant; understated, romantic and elegant, the perfect finish to a perfect day.

Bespoke weddings
Tucked away in the countryside between Falmouth and Truro, Enys Gardens – considered to be some of the oldest in the Duchy – make a unique wedding reception venue that’s perfect for a creative couple. The derelict yet enchanting manor house, located within the gardens, has capacity for 200 guests and is available to hire for wedding receptions and blessings throughout the year. Hire of the house includes access to the largely wild and tranquil gardens and there’s even space for a marquee on the old tennis court.
Nestled into the cliffs of Newquay harbour, The Harbour Hotel could be the perfect venue for you. Ideal for small, intimate weddings from 10 to 75 guests – weddings are designed for each individual couple and provide you with the opportunity to curate your own personal menu with an award-winning chef. Allowing you to make the most of the freshest seafood and fish, directly from the harbour. Situated on the Roseland peninsula, this Mediterranean garden is surrounded by the sea, with views out over the Lizard. Built in an Italianate style and planted in the style of the great gardens of the Italian Riviera, the intimate four-acre garden winds down the hillside to the sea, and is home to a vast array of palms, tree ferns and sub-tropical plants. Lamorran Gardens is perched on a southfacing hillside overlooking the sea, having been laid out to maximise its Mediterranean setting. The views here are staggering, in all directions.

There’s something truly special about a Wild Tipi wedding
W
ild Tipi’s ethos is simple; to immerse you and your guests in nature, drawing on the breathtaking surrounds of Cornwall and adding touches of the countryside into everything they do. We catch up with company founders, Sam and Tim Moore. Impressively, their gorgeous, wooden-framed tipis can be configured to host parties for up to 700 guests, whilst seamlessly blending into your chosen landscape. Sam tells us: “Our Tipis give you the freedom over how you imagine the event in terms of the setting and the space. From clifftop weddings with breathtaking views of the Atlantic to intimate woodland gatherings, our team can help you to bring your dream to life. We can be as involved as you wish; from the smallest detail, to the main event, we are also happy to share with you any number of our amazing local suppliers. Of course we can also just leave you to dream wild too!” So what makes a Wild Tipi wedding or party so special? Tim explains: “A Wild Tipi event takes guests on a sensory journey. From the crunch of feet on gravel as they approach the tipi, to the child-like sense of awe as they gaze up into the sparkling canopy overhead. The smoke drifting lazily from the firepit and the sound of laughter filling the air; its all about creating a sense of magic and making memories that guests will treasure forever.”
Sam continues: “For many who book a Wild Tipi, sustainability is also a key consideration. All of our tipis are UK-made from sustainable pine and can be set up and taken down with little trace left behind. Nature is our driving force and we love helping guests to bring the outdoors in to their wedding or event. A great party will draw on its natural surrounds; taking inspiration from the stunning views or the delicate wildflowers in the hedgerows. Touches like Fal River oyster shells as placename holders or locally-sourced garlands to decorate the tipis add touches of personality and natural beauty to an event.” The versatility of a Wild Tipi event means that every detail imagined can be brought to life; their massive Giant Hat Tipis can be configured in numerous ways and they have a range of smaller tipis which make perfect guest accommodation, video booths or chill-out areas. So, if you’re planning a wedding or special event, why not add a touch of wild to the day? Be sure to contact the team and start planning the day you’ve been dreaming of.

reating a beautiful home environment is what we all aspire to. In the spaces we occupy every day, each picture, chair and textile design can tell a story, and nothing says ‘you’ more than a specially commissioned work. For glass designer Jo Downs, bespoke works are a passion. 20 years of creating spectacular installations for hotels, ocean liners, city headquarters and private homes have given her the skills and experience to create, as she puts it, “just about anything you can think of in fused glass. There’s never been a bespoke idea I haven’t spun into something real for my client – into a work that delivers the essence of what they first imagined.” Indeed, over two decades, Jo’s clients’ imaginations have truly put her to the test. Previous commissions have included roomsized installations, spectacular glass ceilings and intricate swimming pool surrounds. In 2017, Jo created her first multi-piece chandelier, wowing London design event, Decorex, with a showcase of elegant designs. Then, in 2018 she accepted a request from the United Arab Emirates’ Grand Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel & Residences Emirates Pearl to create multiple giant glass oyster shells, complete with iridescent glass pearls. “Every year new challenges come my way, allowing me to push the boundaries of what’s possible. I’m an artist first and foremost, so working to create unique pieces that are meaningful to my client is my greatest motivation.” Mindful of the emotional investment inherent in the commissioning of bespoke works, Jo’s focus is on a close partnership with each of her clients, and the knowledge that clients wish to express something of their own identity through their design choices. “Corporate commissions, for example, must reflect the aspirations of that business,” Jo explains, “while domestic commissions are designed to reflect the interests and personality of the family who created that home. Each project is a partnership – a coming together of my clients’ hopes and what’s possible, even only theoretically – in the discipline of fused glass. Whatever the idea, there’s always a conversation to be started, and then taken forward with enthusiasm!” To learn more about bespoke commissions, why not give Jo and her team a call?

YOU SHALL GO
TO THE BALL!
Recently named in Conde Nast Traveller’s 2019 list of the Best Festivals in the World (alongside the likes of Coachella, Glastonbury and Burning Man) Cornwall’s Masked Ball is a hedonistic party playground like no other. é MAIN Be sure to pencil The Masked Ball into your 2019 festival diary
S
et on the hillside above Porthleven, home of Cornwall Living, this underthe-radar festival has been bringing some of the best international dance and electronic music artists to its beautiful, off-the-beaten-track venue for over a decade. This year’s line up includes edit kings Psychemagik and international artists including the ‘saviour of Australian dance music’, Francis Inferno Orchestra, Norwegian house don Telephones and Japan’s rising star Powder. Rewind twelve years and picture the scene as friends Alec Short and Kelvin Batt stood on the cliffside overlooking the ocean and had a vision of throwing a truly epic party. They carved a section out of the cliffs themselves to house the main stage – The Grand Ballroom – and started what has become one of the most respected parties out there, attracting an up-for-it crowd from across the globe. “What’s truly brilliant about the Ball has to be the location – the site has this epic view of the sea and the sunsets,” says Kelvin. “We have a great community of shops and local businesses in Porthleven. I mean, we live here
and still fall for its charms – why wouldn’t we want to share that? Lots of festivals just want to keep you on site but we’re actively encouraging ballers to explore the village, coastal walks and beaches in the local area before coming back to party.” That’s why the Masked Ball offers an open-gate policy, meaning that during the daytime ballers can walk or catch the shuttle bus down the hill to the harbour and sample stand up paddle boarding as well as the many great pubs and restaurants dotted around the harbour. A weekend ticket, including camping, costs from £90, and if you’re not a happy camper there are plenty of other options on offer. On site you can hire a Shire Hut with proper beds and lockable doors, order a pre-erected tent or choose a luxury Bell Tent with matting, fitted sheets and fun stuff like bunting and fairy lights!

ometimes a tradition does not tell the whole story. Thus, here in the south west, we have long divided gems into precious and unusual types. And yet, these categories do not do justice to the larger group, which is characterised by staggering variety and beauty. The unusual gems group, which includes pink or green tourmaline, tanzanite and aquamarine, covers well over 100 types of stone, each with their own allure and associations. There is so much to discover, so why not start here, with a gorgeous collection from Michael Spiers?
Green Tourmaline and Diamond Ring
£6,950
This enchanting green tourmaline cluster ring is surrounded with brilliant cut diamonds, crafted in 18 carat white gold.
Aquamarine and Diamond Ring
£8,950
Yellow Sapphire and Diamond Ring
£6,250
Big, bright and colourful, this triple cluster ring is a great standout piece. With a gradient cut yellow sapphire taking centre stage, this ring is also surrounded by diamonds. The beautiful ring is set in a mixture of 18 carat white and yellow gold. Green Sapphire and Diamond Ring
£4,950
The sapphire is a beautiful, sparkling and durable gem, ideal for daily wear. Contrary to popular belief, sapphires are not only available in a blue colour and this exquisite, rare green sapphire is a fine example. Displayed in the centre of this triple cluster ring with baguette cut diamonds flanked either side, surrounded by brilliant cut diamonds.
Strikingly beautiful, this sensational ring is a bold and distinctive alternative to a classic diamond ring. Effortlessly fusing classic, vintageinspired design with a modern edge, this beautiful ring features an emerald cut aquamarine which is surrounded by a halo of sparkling brilliant cut diamonds, set on a polished 18 carat white gold band.
This beautiful collection needs seeing to be fully appreciated, so if you’re looking for that next piece to add to your collection, be it for everyday wear or special occasions, be sure to pop into Michael Spiers Truro during your day spent exploring Cornwall’s cathedral city.
