o demonstrate that God is foremost in everything, the school of Engineering's council has put in place the initiative of starting every new academic year with a spiritual event. Therefore the Spiritual Committee executed Raise the Praise with this in mind.

Originally plans were to have a physical event but nearing the date it became apparent that it would not be possible as a result of the pandemic. Raise the praise was restructured as an online event which was held via the zoom platform. Next was to get everything ready for the event: confirm persons on the program, acquire musicians and equipment, choose a venue, etc.

Fast forward to September 17th, and Raise the Praise is only a few hours away. All participants had arrived as the clock hands moved toward 3pm. The event started off with some beautiful praise and worship from the worship team lead by Meloney, with Yaswah and Kharece as her support. They began with a few lively choruses to set the mood for the rest of the event. Next was David Smith with the national anthem followed by Henry, who opened with prayer and reading of the theme Scripture (Psalms 150). The worship team was once more invited on stage to sing singing “Praises onto God, with the musicians keeping up the energy, creating an exciting spiritual vibe, engine style. Our speaker, Sir Frater, captivated the audience as he delivered his sermon. Starting at Psalm 150:1, he exhorted that we must praise God and find pleasure in doing so even amid difficult times. He spoke on how Christ has kept us to this point and so he ought to be worshipped with gladness and rejoicing. The audience was moved by his word that came across as both powerful and humorous. He invited all who were willing, to Christ and later left the audience with a prayer. As the worship closed the event, Raise the praise concluded with music from our talented musicians accompanied by songs of rejoicing from the worship team.
