e are all on a journey and the grave is our destination. It is “the house appointed for all living.” (Job 30:23). Everyday we travel farther on our journey and come closer to our destination. We have no map so we do not know where we are in relation to our destination. It may be relatively far distant yet, or it may be the next stop. Many have been surprised, even today, that they have arrived at their destination, for they were sure that it was still far away. Drugs, tumors, stray bullets, heart attacks, drowning, vehicle accidents, cancer, falls, strokes, etc. have brought them to their destination sooner than they ever imagined. So they are now in the grave where they were going. If you are reading this, you are still on your journey to “the grave where you are going” as I am still on my journey. There are two facts about the grave we all need to know. First, the grave is the divinely appointment destination. “It is appointed unto man once to die” and that appointment is God’s appointment. “As by one man (Adam) sin entered the world, and death through sin, so death passed upon all men, because all sinned.” (Romans

He will perform in upcoming concerts in Australia, New Zealand, and the Baltic. He plays music in a variety of styles and has been featured on television and radio programs. Admission is free. For more information, readers may visit www.trinitycamphill.org.

5:12). “The wages of sin is death.” (Romans 6:23). We are all on a journey to the grave because we are all sinners. Man was not created in a state of mortality, but he became mortal when he became sinful in Adam, his representative. Second, the grave is not our final destination. The grave is a temporary home for the body. It is a motel where one’s body “rests” till morning when the journey continues. The very word “cemetery” reflects this truth. There is a resurrection of all mankind, both of those who have believed upon the Lord Jesus Christ and repented of their sins, and of those who have not. “It is appointed unto man once to die, and after this the judgment.” (Hebrews 9:27). Jesus said, “The hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth–those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.” (John 5:28,29). Either the kingdom of God or unquenchable fire, is the everlasting destination of each of us. “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.” (1 Timothy 1:15). Call on Him.

If you would like a copy of a Bible and/or a pamphlet entitled “Where Do We Go From Here,” please send your name and address to West Side Baptist Church, P.O. Box 274, Thomasville, PA 17364 and we will be happy to mail you what you request. R020251
