BAPS Motor Speedway Introduces “Laps At BAPS” The management team at BAPS Motor Speedway, which includes speedway owner Scott Gobrecht and general manager Kolten Gouse, is launching the Super Sportsman Rental Program, titled “Laps at BAPS,” which allows drivers to rent a Super Sportsman for an entire practice night. According to Gouse, the program allows drivers to get behind the wheel of a car in another division before they purchase one and gives them the opportunity to try out an openwheel car. This program is only for Wednesday practice sessions at the speedway. According to Gouse, there are 17 available dates on the 2020 schedule. A driver interested in renting a Super Sportsman can do so for a fee. He or she will be able to test the car multiple times throughout the three-hour session. There will be an additional crash deposit, but it will be returned at the end of the session if there is no significant damage. Interested drivers will be given top-notch equipment to test. The car will feature parts from Winters Performance Products, ACP Headers, TQ Fiberglass and Wilwood Brakes, among others. Marysville Motor Cars and Blazer’s Body Shop are helping with sponsorship of the program. The first practice session will take place on Saturday, March 7. There will be three more sessions to kick off the season on Wednesay, March 11; Saturday, March 14; and Wednesday, March 18. Other Wednesday dates will include April 8 and 22, May 6 and 27, June 24, July 8 and 22, Aug. 26, Sept. 2 and 30. There will be three dates to close out the season on Wednesday, Oct. 7; Thursday, Oct. 15; and Wednesday, Oct. 21. BAPS Motor Speedway is located at 690 York Road, York Haven. Trinity United Church of Christ Preschool, 200 E. Market St., Hallam, will host an open house on Sunday, Feb. 2, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Interested families are invited to visit the classrooms, meet the staff, and discuss the programs and curriculum of the school. The preschool strives to provide a safe, secure learning environment where creativity is encouraged, a progressive curriculum is taught, and each child is recognized as one of God’s children. Terrific Twos is an opportunity
for caregivers and children to play, learn, and grow. The meeting space is open to attendees and an adult beginning at 9 a.m. on class dates for open play and fellowship. A teacher-led class will run from 10 to 11:25 a.m. Three-year-old students meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays. They learn during circle time, at tables during small group instruction, and during thoughtful play. Kindergarten readiness is the priority for the 4-year-olds who meet on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Students gain a basic understanding of core content areas, and both morning and afternoon classes are held. The prekindergarten program is designed to meet the needs of students who do not meet the age eligibility requirements for kindergarten, who would benefit from an additional year of preschool, or whose families are looking for a more intensive five-day program. It meets Mondays through Fridays from 9:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Also, an extended-day/Lunch Bunch program is offered two days per week from October to April. Those unable to attend the open house may call 717-757-3169 or email preschool@trinityhallam.com to schedule a private tour. Registration forms and more information can be found at www.trinity hallam.com/preschool.
