The Conference Center is located at 1031 Edgecomb Ave., York. She is the author of numerous books, including “Maggie’s Ball,” “Inside Mouse, Outside Mouse,” “Alfred Digs,” “In the Woods: Who’s Been Here?” and “In the Garden: Who’s Been Here?” The GOAL program connects children and their parents to the books, resources,

Gobrecht and general manager Kolten Gouse have worked hard to preserve the history of the Super Sportsman division. When Gobrecht purchased the speedway at the end of 2015, the Super Sportsman class was brought on as the headliner. Two years ago, the duo instituted a Hall of Fame to honor the past and current greats who have made an impact on the division. The management team wants to continue to tap into the past to move the division forward. To do so, Gobrecht and Gouse have announced that they are bringing back the Super Sportsman Tour, which will be highlighted by an eight-race schedule in 2020. According to Gouse, the decision was made as a way to grow the division, as the Super Sportsman Tour was popular in the late 1990s and early 2000s and is known to be a competitive class. Marysville Motorcars has come on board as the title sponsor for the series. The winner of the series will receive $1,000, with second place receiving $500. The top 10 in points will receive money at the end of the season. The eight-race series will be contested at four different tracks with different sizes and characteristics. Lincoln Speedway will host three events, with Big Diamond Speedway and Trail-Way Speedway holding single events. BAPS Motor Speedway will also have three designated races. The Marysville Motorcars Super Sportsman Tour schedule for 2020 is as follows: Saturday, April 11 - Lincoln Speedway; Saturday, April 25 - BAPS Motor Speedway; Friday, May 15 - Big Diamond Speedway; Saturday, June 6 - Lincoln Speedway; Saturday, June 27 - BAPS Motor Speedway; Saturday, July 18 - Lincoln Speedway; Friday, Aug. 14 - Trail-Way Speedway; and Saturday, Sept. 5 - BAPS Motor Speedway. For more information, readers may visit www.bapsmotorspeedway .com/single-post/2019/10/31/Super -Sportsman-Tour-to-Return-in-2020.

Community REACH Plans Programs
The Druck family, which includes Isiah (left), Jesse (middle) and Barb Druck, will benefit from a dance on Saturday, Nov. 16, at Airville Fire Hall. Proceeds will go toward paying medical expenses in connection with Barb’s fight against ovarian cancer. To view photos of the silent auction items, readers may visit Chanceford Presbyterian Church’s Facebook page and click on Events. Anyone who would like to bid but cannot attend the dance may contact Penny Snyder at 717-862-3732 and leave their name and contact information and specify the item and their bid. Readers may also contact Snyder for information about donating a silent auction item or food item or sending monetary donations for the Druck family by mail. Other opportunities to support the
Druck family are available, as well. Through Saturday, Nov. 30, people may stop by Treasa’s Pizza in Brogue and purchase a $25 gift card; all proceeds will go to the Druck family. Additionally, Roma’s in Brogue is having a Kiss a Frog contest. Community members may stop by and vote on which manager - Alora or Charlie - they would like to see kiss a frog at the benefit dance at 9:30 p.m. The person with the most money in their jar will kiss the frog. All proceeds will go to the Druck family.
Breakfast, Food Box Distribution Slated The free community breakfast at Salem Lutheran Church, 99 York Road, Jacobus, will take place on Saturday, Nov. 16, from 8 to approximately 10 a.m. The breakfast is typically held on the fourth Saturday but has been scheduled for the third Saturday in November due to a scheduling conflict. Additionally, the church is a distribution site for the voucher and Senior Food Box Program; distributions will be offered that day from 9 to 11 a.m. The vouchers and
senior boxes are free, and the York County Food Bank asks the distribution site to check photo ID for the vouchers. The Senior Food Box Program is open to people age 60 and older who are living in York County and have an income of $1,354 for a household of one and $1,832 for a household of two. For each additional household member, individuals should add $479. Valid ID and proof of income, such as a subsidy award letter, are required. The boxes contain $50 worth of free
food. Each month, seniors will receive four cans of vegetables, two cans of fruit, two cartons of shelf-stable milk, two bottles of juice, two boxes of cereal, one can of beef stew or chili, one jar of peanut butter, two bags of pasta, and a 2-pound block of cheese. For information regarding enrollment, readers may call the Senior Box hotline at 717-846-6435, ext. 209. The hotline is staffed from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays through Thursdays.
