Alternative Gift Fair Announced In its 15th year of celebrating and encouraging charitable giving, Gifts That Give Hope Lancaster’s annual gift fair will take place on Sunday, Dec. 11. The event will be held at the Farm and Home Center, 1383 Arcadia Road, Lancaster, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. While at the gift fair, shoppers will be able to engage with each of this year’s 45 nonprofit organizations to best choose which ones they would like to support by purchasing gifts for loved ones on their holiday gift list. Shoppers will also be able to enjoy food and beverages from local eateries and food trucks and peruse fair trade goods, social enterprises, and businesses offering environmentally friendly and ethically sourced gifts. This year’s nonprofit participants include Aarons Acres, Big Picture Soccer, Blackbirds Environmental Justice, Benchmark Program, Clare House, Church World Service, Connec-

In addition to the shopping opportunities, there will be a Human Rights Day scavenger hunt taking place throughout the day for interested participants of all ages to take part in to learn about the respective nonprofits in the area that are working to address various articles of the Declaration. Father Christmas will be present all day for pictures, visits, and interactive story reading. Father Christmas will introduce a variety of children’s authors who will be onsite to offer activities, book
readings and signings, and the opportunity to purchase books. Food will be available for purchase throughout the day from Lancaster food establishments, including Stroopies, Homage: Cuisine of the West African Diaspora, WalkO-Taco, The Cookie Sale to Combat World Hunger, pHresKoo Haitian Lemonade Food Truck, Gourmet Julie’s Way, Isabelle Cuisine: West African and Fusion Fare, Power Broths, and Character Coffee Cart. Gifts That Give Hope Lancaster is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote charitable, alternative giving through an annual gift fair that offers the opportunity to purchase holiday gifts in support of charitable causes and meaningful gift giving. S&H Express’ board of directors has named executive vice president Jordan Kolb as president. David Ruiz, vice president of finance and accounting, was named chief financial officer and will retain the title of vice president of finance and accounting. Kolb succeeds Jeffrey Shellenberger, who was slated to transition to semi-retirement. Shellenberger is vice chairman of the board of directors and will continue to remain active with S&H Express’s recruiting and safety departments. He is

president of Shelly Truck Driving School. Company founder Steve Shellenberger will continue as chief executive officer and chairman of the board of directors. Kolb joined S&H Express in 2016 as manager of carrier relationships and business development. He was promoted to executive vice president in 2017. Kolb graduated from the Pennsylvania State University in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in business management. Before joining S&H Express, Kolb served for six years as senior carrier manager - Northeast for Coyote Logistics. Ruiz joined S&H Express as controller in 2006 and was promoted to vice president of finance and accounting in 2014. He also serves as the secretary/treasurer for the board of directors. He is active in the York community, currently serving as the assistant treasurer for the Bell

Food Truck Events, Fall Fest Set Susquehanna Health and Wellness Center, 745 Old Chickies Hill Road, Columbia, will host food truck events and a fall fest. Members of the public are invited to attend. G’s Concession Food Truck will be on-site on Thursday, Aug. 4, from 5:30 to 8 p.m., selling sandwiches, fries and other sides, dinner items, desserts and
more. The vendor accepts cash or a credit card with a set minimum purchase. Susquehanna Health and Wellness Center will also host the following food trucks on other dates: Vampire Taco Food Truck on Thursday, Aug. 25; Walk-O Taco Food Truck on Tuesday, Sept. 27; and Dandelion Thyme Food Truck on Thursday, Oct. 20. Food will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
and 5:30 to 8 p.m. A Fall Fest will take place on Sunday, Sept. 25, from 4 to 7 p.m. It will include activities and food trucks, as well as a performance by the Twin City Concert Band at 6 p.m. All proceeds from the events will help to fund activities for the residents of Susquehanna Health and Wellness Center.
