positive change in the lives of women and girls in Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lebanon, and Perry counties and the Dillsburg area. The Rising Philanthropists Award is for young women ages 21 to 35. Holder, owner of Full Circle Vitality Group and adjunct professor at Central Penn College is being recognized as a role model for inspiration and servant leadership. She is a champion for women in the local community and gives freely of her time, talent, and treasure to organizations she is passionate about. She currently serves on the board of directors of Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts and the YWCA’s Friends Board. She is on the advisory committee of TFEC’s Women’s Fund and volunteers for and supports a number of local and national organizations, such as the Women’s Fund Dream Team, the YWCA’s
Pillar Society, Girls on the Run, Petapalooza, the Cumberland County Library System, the Salvation Army, Alpha Chi Omega, and several of her alma maters. She was named a 2010 Woman of Excellence by the YWCA of Greater Harrisburg. Pehle joined American Association of University Women (AAUW) in 2015 and began lobbying for women’s equal pay rights to the point where she has become known at the state Capitol as Equal Pay Ann. Her efforts paid off when Gov. Wolf signed an executive order ending the practice of state agencies requiring job applicants to provide salary history during the hiring process. In 2017, Pehle brought a pilot of the AAUW WorkSmart salary negotiation workshops to Carlisle. These workshops empower women with the skills and confidence to successfully negotiate their salary and bene-
fits packages. In addition to advocating on behalf of women’s issues, Pehle also gives of her financial resources, including supporting WITF public radio as it highlights issues affecting women. McLeod is a Women’s Leadership Network Advisory Committee Member for the United Way of the Capital Region and a Friends board member for YWCA of Greater Harrisburg, for which she chairs the Cards with Heart fundraising campaign to support the YWCA Emergency Shelter. In 2016, she joined the Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania (GSHPA) board of directors. She currently serves on the property and volunteer appreciation committees, and during her time on the board, she has introduced new funding partners to GSHPA. Health Care System Launches Capital Campaign
Philip Guarneschelli (left), president and CEO, UPMC Pinnacle, recognized Brad Hollinger (middle), honorary chair of the Pinnacle Health Foundation Labor of Love Campaign, during the campaign’s kickoff gala. News anchor Dennis Owens offered congratulations. existing labor and delivery facilities will include eight new intake exam rooms and two new floors added to the Alex Grass Medical Science Building on the corner of Second and Chestnut streets. Also, the eighth floor will house a new maternity/postpartum unit with additional space for family members and enhanced technology. The new ninth floor will house a new, 42-private-bed, state-of-the-art Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The center will also include a new operating room and upgrades to
the current operating rooms, as well as a dedicated space for lactation services. The new Women and Babies Center is being built with noise-reducing materials to allow for a setting more conducive to healing. The patient-centered design maximizes the therapeutic effects, including natural lighting; larger, efficiently designed patient rooms; and a better workflow for nurses and physicians. The total cost of the project is $57 million. For more information, readers may visit www.UPMCPinnacle.com.

UPMC Pinnacle recently held a gala to launch a $10 million fundraising campaign, called Labor of Love, for its new Women and Babies Center. The new center is under construction at UPMC Pinnacle Harrisburg and is being named in honor of the campaign’s honorary chair, Brad Hollinger of Mechanicsburg. Hollinger’s $4 million donation to Women and Babies is the single largest contribution from an individual or family in UPMC Pinnacle’s history. Hollinger Tower will house new, technologically advanced postpartum and neonatal intensive care units and address the multifaceted needs of women and babies. Hollinger’s mother, children, and grandchildren were born at Harrisburg Hospital. His mother also worked as a nurse at the hospital. UPMC Pinnacle welcomes nearly 4,000 babies a year, and this number is expected to grow. After 20 years, the hospital is in need of significant upgrades and expansion of its maternity services. With its planned completion in spring 2019, the Women and Babies Center will offer a dedicated elevator bank located at the main hospital entrance that travels directly to the eighth-floor welcome center. The Pennsylvania Association of School Business Officials (PASBO) has named new staff leadership effective Monday, July 1, 2019, as result of the retirement of current executive director Jay Himes. Himes spent more than 20 years with the organization as executive director. Dr. Wayne K. McCullough will assume the position of executive director while Hannah Barrick, J.D., will become assistant executive director. They currently serve in the positions of director of leadership and development and director of advocacy, respectively. McCullough spent 28 years with Southern York County School District in finance and operations. He is a faculty member for the School Business Leadership master’s program at Wilkes University and was instrumental in developing a new undergraduate program with an emphasis in school business management at Wilkes. McCullough is a graduate of Elizabethtown
College and obtained his advanced degrees at the University of Phoenix. Barrick has been involved in government relations for six years and is responsible for PASBO’s advocacy efforts in Harrisburg. She is recognized for her recent efforts on behalf of public schools in the development of the new basic education and special education funding formulas and working with the PlanCon Advisory Committee to re-establish a program to assist schools with building construction and maintenance. She is a graduate of Hamilton College and obtained her law degree from Quinnipiac University School of Law. PASBO is a statewide organization of 3,000 members and provides professional development, leadership, research, consulting, and advocacy on behalf of finance and operations professionals in the state’s public school system.
