Former Knee Pain Sufferer Shares: “I was looking at surgery…But now there’s no need.”
New Knee Pain Workshop Helps Local People Get Back to Normal Naturally, Without Unnecessary Pain Pills, Injections, or Surgeries. • Are you careful how you move because you’re afraid your knee might “give out”? • Do you find yourself taking Tylenol, Aleve or Advil just to get through the day? • Are you missing out on family time because of knee pain? • Have you changed the way you do everyday activities - like going up and down stairs or getting in and out of a car? • Do you try to just “keep going” but you feel limited in what you can do? • Do you feel worn out and held back because of your knee? If you answered “YES” to any of the above questions, the Knee Pain Workshop may be a life changing event for you… Hello, Knee pain can completely destroy your life…we’ve seen it many times. It can make you avoid the things you once loved doing such as taking walks with the dog, spending time outdoors with the family, or even doing simple household chores. I’ve seen many folks afraid to do everyday things like going up and down the stairs or getting out of the car because they don’t know if their knee is going to “give out” and make them fall. Knee pain can: • Make you feel like you’re not your normal self… • It can zap and take away your energy… • It can make you feel depressed as you see other people doing the things you wish you could be doing… It can be a downward spiral. Not good. Here at Madden Physical Therapy we’ve helped literally hundreds of knee pain sufferers cancel their surgery, get off of pain meds and anti-inflammatories…and get back to feeling like their normal self again. Naturally. That’s why we’re hosting a Knee Pain Workshop on Wednesday, January 6th at 7pm right here at Madden Physical Therapy in Lower Paxton. If you’ve been told you have arthritis, or bone-on-bone on your X-ray and you absolutely need surgery…here’s some of what you’ll learn: 1. The Top 3 Causes of Knee Pain that can lead to a Knee Replacement and a long recovery. (One of them you won’t believe…) 2. The #1 Single Biggest Mistake that Knee Pain sufferers make that can lead directly to surgery. 3. A sure-fire way to get your life back and pick the right treatment for the cause of your pain (and save you time and money). 4. What successful treatment and permanent relief look like without the side effects of unnecessary medications, injections or surgery. “Had trouble walking through the woods while shooting archery. I am now able to walk without tripping on branches and up and down stairs. I had a problem lifting my right leg and getting up from the floor while sitting. Now I can get up with no problem!” - Rich A. So, if you want to get your life back and handle the cause of your knee pain, here’s how to register to learn more. Call 717-210-9945 today. Say you would like to “Save your seat for the Knee Pain Workshop.” To make sure all attendees questions are answered, space is limited to 20 seats… and seats fill up FAST. The first 10 registrants will receive a FREE copy of the Top 3 Exercises for Knee Pain when they come to the workshop. I’m looking forward to seeing you there and helping you become your “normal self” again.

Merry Christmas, everyone! It’ll be here before we know it! I am so excited! I never lost my awe for Christmas; it still makes me feel like a little kid. I think a lot of that awe is due to my growing up in the Riverside Chapel. Christmas was extra special at Riverside Chapel when I was a kid. I remember every Christmas service we kids would get a big fat orange and a box of chocolates. We also used to make clear toy lollipops back in the kitchen; do any of you remember them? They were so good! I also remember gathering in a large circle, everyone holding hands, and then singing “Silent Night.” And, of course, we always were told the true Christmas story, and it still always makes me feel full of love, peace, and hope. Who Started This Thing Called Christmas? A woman was Christmas shopping with her two children. After many hours of walking down row after row of toys and after hours of hearing both her children asking for everything they saw on those many shelves, the woman finally made it to the store elevator with her two children in hand. She was feeling what so many of us feel during the holiday season time of the year - overwhelming pressure to find that perfect gift for every person on our shopping list; to go to every party and taste all the holiday food and treats; to make sure we don’t forget anyone on our card list; and to respond to everyone who sent us a card. Finally the elevator doors opened revealing a crowd in the car. She pushed her way in and dragged her two kids and all her bags of stuff in with her. As the doors closed she
couldn’t take it anymore and blurted out, “Whoever started this whole Christmas thing should be found, strung up, and shot.” From the back of the car, a quiet calm voice responded, “Don’t worry, we’ve already crucified Him.” The rest of the trip down was so quiet you could have heard a pin drop. Don’t forget this year to keep the One who started this whole Christmas thing in your every thought, deed, and word. Extra Special Birthday Wishes! cer Grant, and Swatara Township Police Department received a $60,000 School Resource Officer Grant. These grants are awarded to schools to prevent and reduce violent incidents, to purchase safety- and security-related equipment, and to provide for the training and compensation of school resource and police officers. The grants are aimed at reducing unnecessary student disciplinary actions and promoting an environment of greater productivity, safety and learning, according to DiSanto. Funds can also be used for enhancing anti-violence efforts between schools and parents, local governments, law enforcement and community organizations. The grant program was expanded last year to provide school safety funding to non-public schools as well.

Local Youth To Compete On Food Network Show When viewers tune in to this season’s “Kids Baking Championship ” on Food Network, they will be able to root for a local youth who is taking part in the competition. Beginning on Monday, Dec. 28, at 9 p.m., viewers will be able to watch Jonah Anderson, 12, of Harrisburg compete with 11 other young bakers on the show, which will be hosted by Valerie Bertinelli and Duff Goldman. The winner of the competition will receive $25,000, a spot in Food Network Magazine and the title of Kids Baking Champion. Jonah, a homeschooled seventh-grader, applied for the show in the summer and traveled with his mother to California to record the episodes. “Last December I was watching one of the challenges and they were making volcano blunt cakes and I said, ‘Mom, I can do just as good as some of those kids’, and she said I
should apply, and now, here I am,” said Jonah. “We had to fill out an application form and submit pictures and videos. It was a crazy long process.” Jonah, who admits to being a fan of Food Network shows like “Chopped” and “Buddy Vs. Duff,” said his love of baking began only recently. “A couple years back, I was into art and it started to get a little boring and then I found baking,” he stated. “I love doing things with my hands, and it was kind of like the perfect thing I needed right then.” Jonah said he loves baking all kinds of treats, from cookies and cakes to pies. “I really love to try ethnic foods like French pastries and experiment with flavors,” he shared. W hile he is not able to reveal how he did on the show, Jonah did mention that it was challenging to cook while on camera. “I was super nervous. I could always tell the cameras were there,” he said, adding that
he kept his appearance on the show a secret from friends and family members until recently. This year’s 10-episode season will feature new challenges for the competitors. One challenge, celebrating Animal Planet’s “Puppy Bowl,” asks each baker to pair up with an adoptable puppy and to create a birthday cake that envisions the pet’s life after adoption. In another challenge, the competitors must make a giant cookie face with 3-D features that communicate an assigned expression. Each week one baker will be eliminated. On Monday, Feb. 15, 2021, at 9 p.m., as part of the two-episode finale, the bakers will be asked to create a sheet pan pie with two pie fillings, a crust and decorations. Three bakers will earn spots in the grand finale at 10 p.m. “I really want people to watch,” Jonah said. Whatever happens on the show, Jonah plans a career

in baking. “I really want to go to pastry school when I get older and own my own bakery,” he shared. “That is my dream.”
