Time flew. Mr. Goat's turn car\e. "My dearest friends. If it is my turn to be eaten, my descendant will be extinct. For the sake of lustice, however, I will take my tufn," said Mr- Goat before taking the paper. He took the paper slowly. He opened it with hts heart beating. He was very shocked when he read'EATEN" on his paper. Mr. Goat bleated andran backward and forward. His crying made all the animals deeply sad. Poor Mr. Goat! Suddenly Mr. Cat stePPed forward courageously. "My beloved comrades, stop

crying! Let me take Mr.

Goat's place. I am very old. Moreover, my family has not had their turn yet. I rcally want to take awry Mr. Goat's bad /ack," he said with a loud voice and hunbly.


"No, Mr. Cat. Though you did not get your turfl, I am sure that you will get it someday. Don't you realize that all of us are waiting to be eaten and to be extinct?" argued Mr. Snake who sat near him. Soon, they tied Mr. Goat's legs with ratt^n. He was brought to the middle of the jungle where Mr. \flhite lived and was waiting for his victim. Having seen the goat, he showed his strong and big frbnt teeth. Not far from hirn, a lot of antmal bones'were scattered on the grass. "Put the goat in front of me quickly! I cannot bear to wait any Ionger," Mr. Sfhite shoated. They put Mr. Goat in front of Mr. Tiger quickly and ran Mr. Squirrel, ^w^y. on lhe other hand, watched from a shady tree. FIe thought hard about how to save Mr. Goat. "Hm. What a delicious meal I have today," Mr. !flhite laughed. Again, he grinned and showed his strong and sharp teeth.

They agreed with Mr. Horse's suggestion, except Mr. Buffalo. "\fell. Considering yout sincere promise, we' will release you," said Mr. Monkey.

He saw serious wound.s on his body. Unfortunately, his body was scarredby the stripes forever. Since then, Mr. \White was called Mr. Stripe by all of the iungle inhabitants. After recoueringfrom the painful wounds, Mr. Stripe forgot his promise. He kept on killing anJ eating other animals. He was even ,proad of his stripes. He broke his promise totally. He did not know how to show gratitude.
