READING 1.-Read the story and answer the following activities

The Storm By Cheyenne Cisco I don’t get angry often. But I did get angry last summer. You see, that was when the big storm blew into town. It was the biggest storm I have ever seen. It was the biggest storm ever! I can never forget it. The storm blew the doors off. But I’ve lost doors before. It blew all the windows out. But I like it windy. It blew all the grass away. But then I didn’t have to mow the lawn! Then that storm blew my lamp up in the air. My

watermelon lamp! I would not let any storm take my watermelon lamp. I got mad! I watched my lamp fly over the ocean. That storm moved fast. I just had time to throw on a life jacket and get my saddle and some rope.

At the beach, I whistled to a big old whale. I put my saddle on it and jumped on. I’ve ridden a whale before-but never in a storm. It was fun. What a race we had! We went past two sailboats

and a submarine. “We’ve got to catch that storm! We’ve got to get that watermelon lamp!” I shouted. That whale was a winner. What a race! It swam right under the storm cloud. I studied the dark cloud. Yes, it was time to throw my rope. And I got the storm!

It was an exciting time! I held onto my saddle. I threw the rope. And I got my watermelon lamp! Then I went home. I got home late that night. And I saw what a mess the storm made. My saxophone was in the jungle gym. My parrot was in the dresser. My bathtub was in a tree. And I’ve never forgotten that kangaroo in my swimming pool!

But I decided to take care of all that in the morning. I wasn’t angry. I had my lamp. And you know what? It still worked!
