HH SHEIKH MOHAMMED VISITS DELL TECHNOLOGIES STAND By 2050, the world population is estimated to reach 10 billion people, compared to 7.3 billion today. Most of that increase will happen in cities, with experts forecasting the urban population to double by then.

At GITEX 2018, Dell EMC revealed the findings of its recent Dell Technologies Digital Transformation Index (the DT Index). The DT Index, which was completed in collaboration with Intel, maps digital transformation progress of mid to large-sized companies and

examines the digital hopes and fears of business leaders.

Based on responses from business leaders in the UAE and KSA, only four per cent of these businesses see themselves as Digital Leaders. 87 per cent agree or strongly agree that digital transformation initiatives need to be even more wide-spread throughout their organisations.

While there is minimal growth in the Digital Leadership group, the Digital Transformation Index has tracked dynamic movement across other groups.

For instance, 27% of businesses now are categorised as Digital Adopters (a rise from 12% in 2016). These companies have advanced digital plans and innovations in place to power their transformation.

HYPERVSN, the world’s only fully integrated 3D holographic display system, has announced its launch into the UAE market.

The company, which is currently displaying its technology at this year’s GITEX - the largest technology show in the Middle East, Africa & South Asia - has revealed plans to extend the rollout across the UAE following the launch.

GITEX delegates are witnessing how HYPERVSN’s platforms redefine the viewing experience by creating the highest quality holographic visuals. The holographic shows feature a variety of content, including local landmarks such as Burj Khalifa, Burj AL Arab and more.

Everybody wants to automate the process and make it secure. Security has become a core over the time but simplifying security is the key.”

TENABLE: VISIBILITY 360 2018 has been an exciting year for Tenable.

The company will be soon making an official announcement on the same. “KSA is a very big market for us and we see a huge potential there. This partnership will further help us bolstering our presence in the region.”

EMERGENT TELECOMMUNICATIONS AND SOLGARI JOIN HANDS Emergent Telecommunications have partnered with Solgari to bring in Solgari services to local corporates & SMEs. Solgari provides our customers in 34 countries to date all the digital communication channels – including voice, video, chat, SMS, etc – in the cloud, while automatically addressing local and international compliance requirements through a per user per month SaaS model. How is Spectrami aligning with the GITEX tagline – ‘Experience Future Urbanism’?

‘Future Urbanism’ is a very interesting term. Urbanism for me is more about getting connected and getting things automated and that’s where big data comes into picture. Platforms like IoT are a part of the urbanization platform and that’s where we are playing a very important role in ensuring that every small bit of cybersecurity that we do, can add to the urbanization.

ETISALAT SHOWCASES ‘FUTURE OF MOBILITY’ Etisalat is presenting a major digital showcase in ‘Future of Mobility’, bringing global leaders in autonomous transport to Dubai and providing an insight into the future at this year’s GITEX Technology Week.

This is in line with Etisalat’s objective to highlight its role in the ‘Dubai Autonomous Transportation Strategy’ that aims to transform 25 percent of the total transportation in Dubai to autonomous mode by 2030.

Taking off at Etisalat’s stand is ItalDesign’s Pop.Up Next, the first fully electric and zero-emission modular system designed to help

resolve traffic congestion in large urban areas. The ultra-light, twoseater passenger cabin, which can be attached to either a car module (provided by Audi) or a flight module (manufactured by Airbus), can cruise autonomously on the road and lift into the air vertically.

Both modules are entirely electric ad autonomous. The interior of the cabin boasts of a TV-like 49-inch screen that relays information back to the passengers.

Interaction between humans and the machine is performed by speech and face recognition, while additional control can be achieved via eye-tracking technology and touching the screen.

FIREEYE AND STC SOLUTIONS ANNOUNCE NEW PARTNERSHIP
