We have a team of around 500 people dedicated to supporting and empowering our publicans to run great pub businesses. Running a pub is a serious business and we want to make sure that you are fully aware of the challenges that lie ahead. There are five simple steps to becoming a Publican, with support from the Enterprise team available to you at every step along the way. These steps are accredited by our Code of Practice to ensure you have complete transparency from day one.

Choosing the right pub business for you Think about the type of pub to best suit your skills and personality, this is the first step towards running your own business.

Fact finding / getting started From ensuring you have all the documents you need, writing a shortlist to visiting the pubs yourself.

Let’s meet and talk Once you have a chosen a pub, our Recruitment Coordinators will discuss your shortlist and ideas to ensure you’re right for your choice of pub.

Planning your pub business Now it’s time to start thinking about preparing a marketing plan, together with a business plan, including a profit & loss account and cash flow, with a trade accountant.

Agreeing your terms You and the Regional Manager, or Divisional Recruitment Manager, will discuss our Pub Business Assessment together to shape an agreement that best suits the needs of your new pub business.
