1 Pastels Yes pastels crop up so often in the spring collections that they’re almost a cliché now. However, if they didn’t look great then they wouldn’t keep appearing! It’s one cliché I am happy to embrace. Check out our trend reports in this issue for more on pastels in clothing and makeup.
2 Pastel suits and leopard coats A specific take on the pastel trend is one that street style has taken to its heart and pulled off successfully. That is

the pastel trouser suit. Team it with some embellished flats or skater shoes for day and then add your sexiest heels to take it through to the night. A simple white shirt underneath keeps things crisp and clean. A leopard coat thrown casually over the shoulders looks fierce. This is definitely one trend the En Vie team will be rocking this spring.
3 Metallics “But it’s not Christmas or New Year!” I hear you cry. The metallics for spring though are lighter, think more silver, gold and pinks. Team with pastels or whites to keep the look fresh and ready for the sun. If a skirt, top or dress is too much, add in subtle metallic details like accessories, shoes or edging on jackets.
4 Simple spring update Looking for a simple and inexpensive way to update your wardrobe this spring? Why not try a bustier over a shirt or t-shirt? Topshop have a gorgeous leather look or denim bustier. Wear over a crisp white button up, jeans and some embellished flats for day and add some bock heels for night.
5 Jumpsuits This word often instils fear into many. I myself love them and they are a lot easier to wear than most people think. This spring there are lots of options out there, navy v-necked, monochrome floral, or even dreaming of summer palm print. Team with metallic sandals for day and patent pumps for

I
live in the wonderful little city of Muiden, near Amsterdam. For as long as I can remember I’ve been fascinated by photography. As a child I couldn’t get enough of looking at photographs. It was especially old photographs I found the most impressive because of the stories they portrayed. Stories I try to tell in my own work now. I find that I try to portray my own specific style by integrating a realistic display, the emotions of that particular moment and a creative view into my photographs.
My studies at the Nederlandse Fotovakschool in Amsterdam (funded by myself), my participation in
workshops and courses and discussions with other photographers have brought me to where I stand now. I love working with an entire team of creative kindred spirits who share the same passion and goal to create a stunning result. My biggest challenge is to always keep pushing the limits in order get to the proper and desired result. Check out more of Evelien’s work at www.evelienkoote.com.

T
his spring, lady-like full skirts are making a comeback. The best are knife-pleated and mid-length. However, they are far from prim and proper. There’s a good range of skirts to suit all your moods; sheer and pastel, gold and silver metallics or leather (or pleather look if you want the cheaper option). I’m ecstatic that these skirts are making a comeback; I love the blowy, gliding motion of them. You instantly feel more glamorous and feminine when you put one on. To carry on this ladylike feel you can add some pointed pumps, a cute sweater and a statement necklace. Pairing a Peter Pan collared blouse with a pastel skirt and embellished flats will hit three spring trends in one outfit and make you feel ladylike and sophisticated, even if you can usually be found in jeans and Converse most days. If that is all too girly and ladylike for you, why not team a metallic, lamé skirt with an
oversized sweatshirt, maybe with sequin or bead embellishments? Pair it with ankle socks and black ankle boots for day and nude or black pumps for night. A high-waisted full skirt can look super cute with a cropped t-shirt or more fitted long sleeved top. Pick pastels that complement each other, like pink, baby blue and yellow, or pick similar shades from the same colour for a street style worthy look. With these full skirts, the mid-length works best to keep the silhouette sleek; if you go too short it could look like a ballerina’s tutu. With a full skirt you should keep the top half sleek and fitted, if you wear a jumper, make it more slouchy than voluminous. Too much volume all over and you could get lost in your clothes.

he Florentine fashion Brand, ‘To Be,’ a woman's contemporary ecologic clothing brand, has established itself in the course of seven years, through the inspiration of its founder, Simone Vannuzzi. Vannuzzi, has a long family tradition in the field of textiles. After many years around the world to the meticulous research of unconventional fabrics and innovative eco friendly production techniques, Simone Vannuzzi and his staff created in the 2011 the 100% made in Italy brand ToBe. The Tuscan designer has created a sport-glam label by revolutionising the habitual guidelines of casual outfits. ‘To Be’ merges comfort and elegance in the traditional sweater, by using cashmere and silk fabrics, with touches of Sangallo lace and vintage prints. The woman Fall/winter 2014/1015 collection irradiates glee, romance and willpower! London Smoke Grey is the new black, mixed with white, to give a sophisticated allure to the patchwork sportswear. With line elements from men's outfits with a charismatic femininity it has never been so glamorous for women. The tailoring technique applied to sportswear seduces at first sight. The palette includes gray and black. In regard to textures and fabrics, the main element is the flannel, the cornerstone of Made in Italy and patterns such as languid roses of Florentine gardens of Palazzo Pitti. The ToBe brand caters to the city woman that wants to express herself as urban, independent, athletic, and/or multi-ethnic, curious and fully aware of herself. ingapore based fashion and accessories design house Mad About Hue (MAH) is one to watch out for in 2014. Its latest collection “Sound Of Ikebana” continues the brand’s reputation for merging art and science. For this collection MAH collaborated with the acclaimed Japanese media artist Naoko Tosa. This collection “reinforces the notion that the silhouette is a blank canvas and each scarf is a painting.” MAH is a unique collective that unites international artists, designers and photographers performing between Art and Science creating Fashion. MAH produces accessories and ready to wear collections that have attracted viewers worldwide. The philosophy behind the company is to “lovingly hand-make not anonymously mass-produce it”. With the aesthetic statement “SCIENCE + ART become FASHION” Mad About Hue is all about prints, colours and individuality creating wearable art pieces. Launching on Valentine’s Day, the collection of youthful scarves and silk cover-ups express Japanese color tradition and culture through digital technology. The designers of this limited collection were inspired by a series of four eponymous videos shot at 2000 frames per second, capturing the explosion of kaleidoscopic paints generated from the sound waves from Haiku poems sung by the artist. The collection of 20 prints interprets each of the four seasons through fluid color, and the results are something that MAH founder Ondina Montgomery recognized as a unique hybrid of art and science. “Sound of Ikebana “collection pieces are available online at mahcollection.com.

fiery red-haired beautiful woman by the sea in a gorgeous two-piece floral dress blowing in the wind seems as if she is floating in air. The work of Francisco Azucar is full of passion, raw emotion and in essence the human spirit.
In November 2012, the fashion world lost one of its most talented designers. While getting models prepped to walk at the 5th Annual Chillounge Night event in St Petersburg, Florida, Azucar, as he was better known to his friends and fashion industry professionals, suffered from a fatal heart attack.
Azucar was of Cuban descent and was born in Miami, Florida. He based his work out of Miami but worked often in the Tampa/St. Petersburg area. He was a very talented designer that created versatile Men’s wear and Women’s wear (including swimwear and pageant dresses) that set him apart from other designers. His amazing personality, warm heart, obvious talent, and couture dresses led him to be loved and respected throughout the industry.

Sweetness: Interview With MUA Eliana de Pari
E
liana de Pari was born in Rome in 1978 and since she was a child she was attracted to the charm of make-up. She attended one of the best academies in Rome and received a Master in Fashion- Beauty. She began working with many photographers to create look books from glamour to beauty. She continued on improving her technique and testing her ability with different techniques and styles. Eliana attends regular perfecting courses to stay up to date with the newest techniques.
sweetness Photography / Marco Taglienti - WWW.MARCOTAGLIENTI.IT Model / Sar a Ceccarelli MUA & Hair Stylist / Eliana De Pari
EV: How did you get started as a makeup artist? What inspired the career EDP: Since I was child I loved to draw, paint, sculpt and create objects with clay or polymer clay. Makeup for me has always been only a passion, but I never thought to make it a career. One day I decided to sign up to a course called Look Maker in Rome. It was an experience that opened me to a new world and made me realize my fate .
EV: How did you create this look? EDP: The look for this photo shoot was born from the idea of sweetness, I used pastel colors and soft shades to recreate the sensation of candy which is colourful and fun. I applied real decorations for cakes on the lips which was a real treat for the model! EV: What is your advice for upcoming MUAs? EDP: This job gives me a lot of satisfaction but it also requires a lot of diligence and sacrifice. There are no set times or holidays. I often work on weekends and just as often I have to move from one city to another. Only a great passion can keep me going! Check out Eliana’s work at www.elianamakeup.com.

Professional make-up artist and hairst ylist, Evar a Collin shares the secrets behind the l atest spring makeup trends
I
really loved this shoot with such a great team. We were free to experiment and be more creative than we sometimes have to be for commercial work. I was inspired by an editorial with butterflies, black and white, nude makeup, and straight hair. For this shoot we stayed with the idea of the butterflies but we did something completely different. Spring is coming so for the make-up I used MAC foundation, Face and body. I used it very light and transparent because Renée has beautiful skin. She didn’t need much coverage. Some light concealer under the eyes as contouring and working with light and shadow does miracles. For her eyes we wanted to work with a lot of colour; pastels but also more vivid colors. It was a perfect match with the
butterflies and the styling we had. We first did the lighter pastel colors and then we built it up with more vivid and darker colors. The eye shadow and color pigment are both MAC. It’s a highly concentrated loose powder that can be blended easily and gives a subtle wash or you can achieve an intense effect if you use it differently. Sometimes I put an under layer in black, white or another colour to have a more vivid colour. Lips are Make-up studio. They are lighter in the middle and darker on the edges. The mascara is Chanel’s Inimitable. For Renées hair I crimped it with an iron and then did different hairdos and braids. Learn more about Evara’s work at www.evaracollin.be.

LB:I always have high goals and expectations. I always try having the right mood in a shoot, which can be difficult sometimes. However, I never give up until I am satisfied with the results!
EV: When and why did you start?
EV: How do you prepare for a modeling shoot?
LB: Wow, that’s way back! They scouted me on the streets in Amsterdam but I didn't take it seriously. A few years later I was walking in Amsterdam’s fashion week and I simply loved it!
LB: It's important to keep yourself in shape and always make sure you know with whom you are working with. EV: What are your life goals?
EV: How would you describe your life's motto? LB: I have a few mottos in life but the one on top would be: shit happens.
LB: My goal is to continue to travel the world for modeling and meet nice people with good energy! My all time goal is to have a spread in Vogue Italia. That’s every models dream, right?
EV: When was the most fun you've had on a modeling shoot?
EV: What is your advice for aspiring models?
LB: Last summer in New York For L'Anza. I loved everything about it; the vibe, the people and the parties of course!
LB: To the young woman who would love to become a model I’d say always be yourself and love what you do!
